At 4:44, I had my case stuck to the shaft, had to reach inside and dechain the thing to pull it apart, any reason why it might stick and how to get it off?
I'm doing mine now 'you're rite there is no other video's of 263 xhd I'm going to use your video as an assembly guide , mine also is a Duramax thanks for posting
Help. I was finished and the outer snap ring in tail has slipped/moved and now I cannot get it back in place. Took everything loose again and cannot remove tail housing. Any suggestions?
It’s been great. I should have replaced the synchros but it works. Most of what I used came from Merchant Auto. The case, and some other stuff came from rock auto. But it’s all held up fine. Thanks for watching!
Hey, i know this is an older video, but where did you find them flat nose snap ring pliers? I have the complete snap-on set but they fcking SUCK for this job. I spent a few hours teying to get my case back on and gave up until i find better pliers lol
I borrowed them from my dad. He probably got them from my Grandpa. It’s borderline impossible to do this job without them. I was having a meltdown trying every other way possible. I’m sure someone still makes them. Thanks for watching!
I would have been snapping pics the whole way along man... gets real a week or two down the road when you are putting it back together. At least you do not have to set the needles blind like on the cluster gear in a transmission. Great days to ya man, looking forward to part 2 !
Funny you should say that... I finished putting it back together last night. Good thing I videoed it I had to watch it to get it back together! And it was only a day. I have to edit the video and it will be up soon. Hope all is well!
Thanks for 9:26 I could also not remember how that gear went in !!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
Anyone else waited for the planetary to just fall when he walked away?? 😂😂😂
They work better after they fall on the floor lol.
Appreciate it
Hope it helped! Thanks for watching!
reassembling mine, thanks for this helped me orient a few parts I forgot which way I took them out.
I got mine back together and it worked! I’m still editing that video. My advice, take your time and don’t force it if it won’t go there’s a reason.

Keep fighting with the snap ring until you can get it. Or figure out a way to cut/break the ring. They can be a real bear!!
Has the rock auto parts held? What’s the update I got a lbz that has this same issue
