Just picked mine up from him for my Tahoe. Marks a real cool guy. Had a little conversation and ran me through a few things about the tcase he built for me. Highly recommend Mark and Ryan over there, so far so good! 👍
I’m almost 50yrs old & had great luck with Transfer Cases. I’ve owned nothing but 4x4’s & this guy knows his stuff! I’m gonna go drain mine & top off with 5w-40 S. I usually just used ATF here in SE Texas. No cold weather here
I bought a rebuild kit for my 03 2500HD transfer case but after seeing the Kodiak Truck transfer case and Allison 1000 rebuild videos I gave them a call. The rebuild parts are going back. Mark is shipping me one of his 263XHD today. I think Mark knows more about my truck than I do, certainly the drive-train and I'm the one who drove it 400K miles (one owner). New subscriber, thanks for the videos.
wish i had come across this video earlier today. i just ordered mine from florida and it will be here friday. It is coming with an aluminum tail housing as well so I am at least pleased to see that.
That's a very great food for though about the proper fluid to use in the Tcase using regular engine oil of 5W30 synthetic I wonder if in our colder temperatures if using 0W40 or 0W50 synthetic would be better cause that fluid in the Tcase and diffs don't have a heater on them in cold weather
Nathan Brodeur that rebuild shop is in Wisconsin I think he’s got his lubricant pretty dialed in for cold. I bet a lot of his work is from plow trucks.
I think he said that the 5/30 synthetic oil won’t foam up like the tranny fluid does. If it foams it will starve the pump. But if you put the oil in it ( stock transfer case) you need to put fiction additive just like you would on your clutch position rear end.
Can't wait to see the video and how the transfer case turns out it seems like you going to have a bulletproof transfer case can't wait to see it make sure you put it to use thanks for the video
Marcus Mar - I would be careful running straight 5w-30. He specifically stated in the video that they changed their friction ring to a different type of material that allowed them to run straight 5w-30. He also stated that if you have the stock frictions in your t-case you would need some kind of modifier additive with the 5w-30 oil, similar to what is used in posi rear ends. That's why GM used ATF in the t-case, it has friction modifiers in it already.
it was worth the price just to find out about kodiak truck lmao. Seriously have watched this a few times and will be getting my case done by them as well. Thanks for finding/sharing this with us!
Didn't know the GM recommended ATF was bad for these transfer cases. Saw an '89 with ATF in it and then another AWD Gm that specified 5-30 Mobil 1 or similar synthetic. Those needle bearings seem to be a great idea for the main shaft too.
So should I just drain my fluid and add regular 5-30 in my stock case my truck just rolled over a hundred thousand don’t want any issues so I’d like to keep up on maintenance?
I can tell you this my local gm dealer told me to use smurf fluid the blue stuff I am replacing the bearings as we speak I will be running 5 30 motor oil in mine
Love these guy hes very knowledgeable and probably going to call him up and buy a transfer case from him i have 98 chevy k1500 5.7 needs a transfer case and thank u too for these video
That was truly a Bad Azz video Josh!!! I love watching someone who knows his Sh!t explain & build mechanical parts. (Truck Porn.. lol ) That T-Case looks like it's going to be BOMB PROOF!!! (Can't wait to see the install/operating video) Thanks again for all the "AWESOME" Content, Sir.
I think the upgrades are cool, and according to their site, the price is inline with a reman case. Is it needed? Up to the end user, I mean yours made it with 160k and no fluid change, and IMO you could have just put a pump rub kit on it and got who knows how many more miles? I just don't hear about many of them breaking even under high power trucks. That guy know what hes doing, and if I ever grenade my case i would look at him for sure.
You make some valid points, but given the issues these cases have caused it’s a great investment for longevity especially if you plan to keep your truck or never sell it.
@@TruckMaster For the price they are asking for what they do to the transfer case, it is a very good investment. I re-bearing'd my case at about 130k and did a pump rub, i was fortunate that it had not rubbed through. It would be cool if they sold parts kits for the cases. I live in AK and shipping would kill me.
Great video, smart guy. Should I use 5w30 in a 2002, would it need an additive? I recently changed the oil and used Synthetic ATF and transfer case started to make a clunk when shifted into 4HI
nice video. where are these guys based out of? good info on the t-case. my 02 LB7 just popped out of 4wd drive going up a hill. think ill be giving these guys a call
Hey bud. I need some advice. I got a 07.5 Duramax. Having bad noises when letting off throttle to a coast. Sounds like chain skipping or something from t case. Can u tell me what s the best place to get a kit. Is it kodiak
Can I take credit lol.... I researched him 3 years ago and have 50k miles on one of his builds. Says they can handles 1000hp. He was cheaper than 90% of companies building them. Since I saw Ryan's Diesel Service turbo it was a no brainer to recommend His dad's transfer cases to Josh.
I think he said just to Auto cases... But not like the autotrakk the one where you can make it like an all wheel drive... He said all the way back to the 208. That's early 80s square bodies. before the 208 that were in the 70s that's the 205 which is gear driven and then the 203 which is chain / full-time 4 wheel drive
GM AUTO TRAC II on the AUTO-TRAC ones (he is referring to the 3/4 1 ton NON-Auto-Trac ones) -- Unless he has something else not sure (no issues on any 1/2 TON running the GM Auto TRAC II fluid (did have to replace a transfer case half) but truck had well over 250,000 miles (pump rub) - GOOD transfer cases GM #1 (I should have checked it - but did not so I could have caught it easily).
i see this is an old video, but maybe someone could give some advice? im wanting to put in a 4low transfer case in my 2012 suburban, the one i have only has 4hi 2hi and auto. would i be able to switch it out with one that has 4low? im also not to sure on what the designation of the cases are, i believe its a mp3010 but not sure

3 years and going strong with the tcase mark built for my 07 Tahoe. 😎👍
Looks like he was assembling an M4... guy knows his stuff
lol it dose come to think of it
Truck Master I wanna send you some stuff.. how do I go about that?
I left my address in the description in this video
Truck Master 🙄 I see it now
More like a Mark 19.

Just ordered mine today ! I did my research and it was obvious to me ! Thanks for the Info !
This is a nice educational video about the Transfer Case Assembly, good to know
I could smell the sealant.. lol.. love it! Really interested if they sell that as a kit I could install myself?
Hell yea man that guy is awesome im going to 100% think of using him for when i need mine done over.
I enjoy your content just about more than anything on Netflix. Good stuff man.
I really appreciate that 👍
Looks to be well built! Makes me want to get mine done when the time is needed. I currently have a new transfer case but wouldn’t hurt to beef it up
Very true
Thanks for sharing this video. You should make a plate up for your floor jack to lift tcase with.
Cant wait to see it.
Can you please comment on what's the great benefit on adding 5w 30 full synthetic motor oil to a transfer case? Thank you......
I think he said that the 5/30 synthetic oil won’t foam up like the tranny fluid does. If it foams it will starve the pump. But if you put the oil in it ( stock transfer case) you need to put fiction additive just like you would on your clutch position rear end.

AWESOME VIDEO!!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍THIS GUY REALLY KNOWS HIS STUFF!!!
Just had mine snap the other day on my LB7. Looks like I’ll be ordering one of these.
Thanks I’ll pass this on to my uncle in dansville !
Tell him I said hi 👋
Great video man! He seems VERY knowledgeable with transfer cases, I might end up switching to synthetic 5w-30 next time around. I currently run Dex 6.
Thanks

Only 1 question.... why not upgrade the pump? Pump rub in your future maybe....

I’ve seen tons of dodge t cases explode under stock power
4x4 worked fine before doing pump rub kit now it doesn’t guessing I messed something up 😢.
Killer video! Now I can't wait to do it on mine!
How much does the rebuild cost total shipping and all?
As always very informative video from Truck Master!!!.... thank you!....
Thanks
Do you recommend full synthetic 5W-30 oil in an AUTOMATIC chain drive transfer case?
Yes I use mobile 1
Gotta support a 101st brother! 5-0-Duece You Gotta Deal With It! Love the channel battle.
👍 I was with No Slack
@@TruckMaster Dude one of my favorite past coworkers was with No Slack!
Small world
You could tell he did that a time or two before. Built that t-case up like my Marine friends do rifles...while talking to the camera. Lol
great info! Thanks for serving!
He looks like he has built a few of those! lol
Right! Good vid. Spicer u joint too my man
Might consider getting the tc on my 05 1500 built in the future
Awesome video and great information. Thanks for sharing...
Thanks

Nice I'll deff let him take my money... nice Outro BTW 13:00
Thanks
Even though i have a stock GM transfer with 90k miles can i still ise 5w30?
Nice, looks like you're getting a great Tcase, I bet you can't wit to get the truck back on the road.
Definitely 👍
Bad ass Truck Master!
Thanks
is this the Np263hd?
really surprised he didnt do the Merchant auto or PPE pump upgrade kit for it. thats one of the highest failure component for the 263.
posted too soon. interesting they change the end case housing to aluminum
I was going to say with this set up there is no need for it
nice video. where are these guys based out of? good info on the t-case. my 02 LB7 just popped out of 4wd drive going up a hill. think ill be giving these guys a call
They are in Wisconsin
Truck Master what's the name?
Kodiaktruck.com
Awsome video extremely knowledgeable thanks
Thinking about asking if they could build my 04 LB7 5speed trans if I sent it out, would be a lot cheaper than buying a prebuilt one.
Excellent info!
So can we use 5w30 in our stock transfer case?
👍 good show hodgee
Hey bud. I need some advice. I got a 07.5 Duramax. Having bad noises when letting off throttle to a coast. Sounds like chain skipping or something from t case. Can u tell me what s the best place to get a kit. Is it kodiak
Contact kodiak truck you might need a tcase from him
Great vid man very informative
I'm curious my Wehrli fabrication intercooler pipe rubs on the padding of the hood. How did you prevent it from rubbing?
I’ve never had that problem
Great video on the transfer case. How did you find Kodak trucks. I always thought just put the pump rub kit in everything fine. Thanks for the info.

Thanks a ton I didn’t know that👍 Ryan spoke with me about kodiak truck
That's bad ass I want to so that to the transfercase on my avalanche
At how many miles do i change the oil on the kodiak tcase
Great video!
What about a Ram 1500 ecodiesel, would you work on that egr?
I wouldn’t touch that complicated engine we had one in the shop and it was very confusing looking
Any difference if I have zf6 and floor shifter?
Can I transition to 5W-30 synthetic oil when I have already been using synthetic trans fluid?
Excellent !
Be sure keep up on holds out
I'm curious if there are anymore upgrades that can be done for the Np263Hd?
Yup, replace it with an atlas unit from advance adapters.
Woot woot 🇺🇸🍾
What’s that website. I need to get mine ship
So I just bought one from merchant auto. R they good or not ?
Impressive
Hi mr Kodak jw what am I looking at to rebuilding my case from my 03 lb7 jw
Have u tried steel it or know anything about it for undercoating the frame
I’m definitely doing a undercoating but not sure if I want to go with crown or por15
Steel it is a paint not undercoating but its an amazing product that works well to cover surface rust.
Yeah he's working with Ryan. Mark is Ryan's dad...
They make a great team
Does he recomind 5 30 oil in all transfer cases?
I want to know this too...
I think he said just to Auto cases... But not like the autotrakk the one where you can make it like an all wheel drive... He said all the way back to the 208. What's taking so long with this assembly? Can't this guy move any faster? Blink,it's done! Nice .
😂
Would you run 5w30 in a NP149 AWD case?
Got snap ring stuck and mangles and can't get the housing separated. What should I do?
I need one of those t-cases for my 08 gasser. How much it cost ?
Go on there website
I don't Instagram how do I get my pics to you. I've bought my dirtymax and built it watching your videos bout your sticker an want to show it
thas awesome
Thanks
So what’s the best fluid to put in a 2013 Silverado 1500 transfer case?
GM AUTO TRAC II on the AUTO-TRAC ones (he is referring to the 3/4 1 ton NON-Auto-Trac ones) -- Unless he has something else not sure (no issues on any 1/2 TON running the GM Auto TRAC II fluid (did have to replace a transfer case half) but truck had well over 250,000 miles (pump rub) - GOOD transfer cases GM #1 (I should have checked it - but did not so I could have caught it easily).
Hey why don't you get your uniform shadow boxes🇺🇸
Not sure 🤔 but I was planning on something for my ribbons
How much did this run $$$ door to door?
What did it cost for him to do that for you? Including the parts and everything
What’s the ballpark to have this guy rebuild one?
Rebuilt transfer cases are $800 to $1,200 exchange. Could be less to simply rebuild your own if you can deal with the down time of the vehicle.
Can I use Amsoil 5w30 in my stock Allison Transmission on my 6.6 duramax?
No
I meant to say my stock transfer case. Not the transmission.
i see this is an old video, but maybe someone could give some advice? im wanting to put in a 4low transfer case in my 2012 suburban, the one i have only has 4hi 2hi and auto. would i be able to switch it out with one that has 4low? im also not to sure on what the designation of the cases are, i believe its a mp3010 but not sure
How much was it to ship the core and who did u ship it thru
Mark uses ups and he sends a return tag.
I paid to ship my core through ups it was $185
Is the transfer case good with higher horsepower?
Describe higher hp? Plenty of guys out there running 1000 hp thru a stock tc. Im sure with his upgrades it will hold at least that much, if not more.
How can I get in contact with this guy I’m from California
Call them
Why do you feel building a 263 is superior to just swapping a 273? That doesnt have the problems a 263 has.
Price point!?!!
Why does he only have a 1 year warranty or 12,000 mile warranty. If they are so good why not a 2 year warranty?
do they have a website?
