I have the Dyson Animal 2. Best investment with lots of kids and pups. The filters are really easy to clean compared to other vacuums. I have the attachment that’s a grooming brush for dogs, worth it with a shaggy pup. Thank you for going over the attachments! The silly manual doesn’t mention what they’re for, and that’s how I came to find your channel in the first place. Thanks!
Cool about the grooming brush for dogs. We didn't get that accessory in the kit when we bought ours. Looking at pictures of it I doubt that our Standard Poodle would sit still for that.
Got one years ago and the only thing that I can say is that it sucks. Which for a vacuum cleaner is a good thing. Although one thing that they didn't tell me when I bought it is that the dust cup can be taken apart and the centre piece removed. After a year or so I found that the dry carpet cleaner that my partner likes to use would clog the holes in that centre piece. I took it out, and put my air compressor on it and gave it a good cleaning. Even with the holes clogged it still worked like a champ. I would say that my only complaints are the accessories kit we got with ours is a bit odd and more importantly is that the cord is just underrated for the current. The cord does get warm to touch with ours but it is an older model
Hey mate, thanks for a great explanation. Went to your site cause I was a miss getting the top handle attached. I used to have one of the OLD animal Dyson, the type WITHOUT the ball. I just now replaced it after buying it in the early 2000. I’ve had other brands but there didn’t last😢 I now have my vaccine altogether.
15:39 Sadly this tool doesn't work as efficiently as with older models like DC40 due to weaker suction. Stretching the hose while vacuuming stairs for example makes the bristles spin slower so turbine doesn't pick up hair as good. All due to EU's wattage restrictions. Stair tool could do with another velour strip to help with pet hair pick up. We had to go over same spot few times to clean pet hair from our upholstery. Sadly they don't provide any tool to clean under furniture with this model. More expensive model comes with one but it's not compatible with Dyson Ball Animal because connection on this model is slightly different. So if you want to vacuum under beds etc you need to buy more expensive model. Shame on you Dyson. Combination tool is great although I'd prefer shorter crevice tool. Floor pickup is excellent. Great on carpets and hard floors. Quiet and easy to empty. Sometimes the shourd on the cyclone needs a bit of cleaning but it's not a big deal. Filter stays clean for a long time, unlike on Shark we've tried. Filter got dirty after one house and car vacuuming.
Surprised to see dyson are making upright cleaners again I was told they stopped making upright corded vaccums, I had a dc24 upright and after 4yrs the hose split on me it was the same type and was a bit flimsy and only supplied me with one tool which was the small furniture brush could not get a replacement hose and the head was a bit clumby found it hard to get into corners but even so I got another dyson cylinder this time as I found suction very good and the hose is a bit stronger also a better head plus the cord is longer than the dc24 I would still go with a dyson just the dc24 upright wasnt the best model I found thanks for the video
Dyson announced back in 2018 with the launch of the then new cordless V10 format that they would no longer be investing money in R&D in corded machines but would continue to manufacture them. Just means they’ll continue to make the current corded models but no new technology or completely new corded models launched! They’ll just like mentioned above add little updates from new technologies off the cordless models where the R&D is being invested in!
Then at the launch James did 4 years ago of the V10 which again he mentions that they are continuing to making corded machines but not putting anymore development costs into them. Listen from 24:28 which is where he mentions this. m.ua-cam.com/video/23FYE9e9SoA/v-deo.html
Press the red button to pop the lid as usual - then it reveals a small grey button / tab - press this to remove the outer plastic case and you can get at the hair etc around the grey filter - Dyson Powerball
Good video, but can anyone tell me where the other part fits, it's like a dome, with a U shape piece on the side, you can see it on the work surface near the end of the video, thanks
Incorrect that the Dyson Ball Animal Origin Upright comes with an included smaller sized turbine attachment tool. This model comes with a stair tool and a combination tool only! After watching your helpful video, I was disappointed to waste time researching only to learn this model did not have the turbo tool as it’s not a standard inclusion in the Dyson Ball Animal Origin Upright.
It is more than likely either the filter that needs to be cleaning or replacing. This can cause it to pulse. Also it may be that there is a blockage somewhere.
You didn’t show in use with the tools on. There is a fault in the design that makes the hose retract from the powerful suction which mens the machine rolls right up close and the hose shortens to half a meter. Infuriating!
Your more concerned with the recycling issues then showing how to put the unit together and the benefits of this model over the Ball 2. I’ve watched 3 other reviews and your the worse. 6:47
I waited right until the end of video to see it in action, to learn if it's effortless to use. Which is the most important aspect of any vacuum, that you can possibly think of. So, did I subscribe? No.

Great explanation of how to disconnect the body to give it a good clean 👍🏻
The tool clip had me flummoxed, thanks for showing it.

It's worth mentioning that this is the first corded Dyson since 2017.
Great explanation. Thank you so much for your time and explaining the parts.
No problem. Glad it was useful for you
Thanks for the video, it helped me out when I used the hose thing to do the stairs.

Really informative video review/instruction description…thank you😁
There was one more component that you have not explained what it is for
Thank you! This was very helpful!

Yeah I remember that as well. I wonder if anyone has a link to the original wording of that declaration of Dyson.
Here’s a quick video that James mentions they are not developing corded machines

I have a cordless vacuum, i don’t like the fact that is harder to clean than a corded vacuums.
I have dyson ball animal 2, the thing is its pulsing and not sucking, i dunno what to do, do you know how to fix it?

Thank you for sharing 👍
