Also he didn't like to solder connections and said a good waterproof / heat shrinkable ones are much better and now they make the ones that are a combo of solder and crimp/heatshrink.
The Porche turned out awesome. I have to chime in about your large drying towel. You're not giving it near enough credit or praise. I'm a truck driver, and use it on my truck whenever I wash it at home, then also dry my Silverado almost immediately after. It works flawlessly on both. Super great product!
One of the reasons I love this channel is because of the "Legit Street Cars" mentality. Anyone can take any car and slap a massive engine in it and make it fast but at the cost of comfort and driveability. Make it operate like a stock vehicle with all the creature comforts but still modified and fast. That's why this is my favorite channel.
Would throw a little primer on the cut edge of the trunk lid holes, water will make it in there for sure. I've also used grease just to keep the water off the raw edge.

As for the oldsmobile - i knew from 1st ep that ignition coil is failing. Got my knowledge from Renaults from ~2000-2010 with their CoP setup. Those are still so f... unreliable. And they work when they are cold. Starting cold engine is great. But when they are on edge of failing... cold starts are still great, but when engine is hot or warm. Youre goin to flood the engine. And they were used in all kinds of engines. 1.6 K4M? 2.0 F4R? 2.0T F4RT (lol Fart)? Yeah. All of them had them. (Valeo part nr 245104).

I used to own a 964 and a 993 about 20 years ago (before the kids arrived and I needed a real backseat). Great cars...both. However, the idea of an LS motor gives me a good feeling. Nothing against the OE motor...but I would imagine the LS, especially in the USA, makes for an easier car to run daily and maintain at a more reasonable cost. Even when it comes to simple things, like changing spark plugs...the LS seems a more friendly experience (i.e. no +$1K engine drop). Great job! NICE car!
I agree with your statement that this car is a perfect marriage between American muscle and European handling. It smacks you over the head with that exhaust note. Very cool creation. You brought it a long way in refinement and speed. Well done Alex🎉

Lesson learned - make sure your surface prep is appropriate and surface temp is 40*F and rising during application. Had an unexpected failure of VHB in a construction project, luckily no one got hurt but the root cause was either surface prep or surface temp related
Agreed, stuff works great. I said it elsewhere, but if needing to remove it after being stuck and applying heat causes concern, apply some isopropyl alcohol, denatured alcohol, or mineral spirits and it typically comes apart fairly trouble free. Anything else that won't damage paint probably works just as well too. Happy wrenching out there.

Nerdy detail. That AC compressor likely wasn't vaccum sealed. Vaccum is a great way to get moisure out and find leaks, but it was likely dry nitrogen charged. Still nice to hear it was pressureized when you hooked it up, you know it's still sealed. You don't want to leave a system like that in a vaccum for extended periods of time. If there is a leak at a seal, it'll pull in dust and debris making a bad problem worse. You want higher pressure inside to push debris out if there is a seal leak.

Hi Alex, rivnuts are a great option I just use stainless steel the difference in cost between stainless and coated mild steel is insignificant based on the numbers used but you never have to worry about corrosion as long as you seal the raw steel, just seems like no brainer for me 🤷🏼
When running an IAT sensor, the closer to the engine the better. You want to accurately gauge what the temp is entering the car, as inaccurate temps can lead to detonation. A popular way to do this is actually drill into the intake itself, right behind the throttle body. But, I would have actually installed that IAT sensor on the 90 degree elbow, as that is much closer to the source.
Aeroquip ez clip a/c fittings, you can build your own lines and no need to find a shop to build them for you. I built the entire ac system on my 1973 240z

The quality of your work is top notch and the way you tackle problems is inspiring! But the coolest part of what you do is your choice of cars for example the Cutlas Sumpreme Sport model that I never heard of,keep it up brother!
Hey LSC! I think you should create a POV video of you driving the car. No commentary, just 15 minutes of driving around from a headcam perspective. Would be really cool for some of your cars. Love your work!
I have to admit when this car first hit the channel it was only moderately interesting. But with all the work you've done and then turned up the horsepower - I'm sold!! What a great car!
Hi Alex, since the temps on the exhaust manifold are around 1100 to 1200 degrees or more under load are you going to use a heat shield for the lines and compressor for the A/C? Great Video Thanks 🙏
Oh heads up on the trunk lid ! it probably was like that to help cooling. We do that for Vdubs and Porsche's because the air flow over the car drops in when its lifted. if you don't have it you will see higher coolant temps or the cooling will work harder. I know it don't look good on a Porsche but it does work. Anyway hope this helps with knowing why something was done that way.
Alex your car collection… even with the McLaren, Porsche, Ruby, cop caprice, gone or going to be is a perfect legit street car garage and your Mercedes cars are the cherry on top…. I LOVE the fact that you take the one-of-one SEMA Porsche to a tuner who has a handful of high six-figure McLarens parked outside, and you geek out over the manual-trans VW Passat wagon. I’m right there with you man!
The buttons on the middle console can be PSM ON/OFF, front window heating, recirculation, central locking button has been seen there on early models. So there is not really a given option per button, it depends on year and ordered options.
Love this Porsche Alex and it has come out fantastic. I love how you mounted those hood pins, they look so good and being black they compliment the black details on the the car.
The button options on the horseshoe trim included spoiler up/down, door locks, targa top, rear defrost, door locks, seat heaters (some of these were in the bat wing too)….

The right and left-hand versions of the snips are made for sheet metal workers it so you can turn circles going right turn circles going left and they have a straight pair they’re made for sheet metal workers or HVAC workers

right and left hand snips are mainly for sheetmetal workers of hvac installers helps cut angles in tight spots
As a vehicle community, I encourage us to take a moment for "Rabbit."
Let's show him the love and joy he brought to our community.
I really enjoy your videos. I can appreciate the above and beyond mentality. The simple wire loom or heat shrink. Keep the videos coming.
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you... prevent inflation
Thanks for continuing updates I'd rather trade the crypto market as it's more profitable. I make a good amount of money per week even though I barely trade myself.
A lot of people still make massive profit from the crypto market, all you really need is a relevant information and some ‹professional advice. ‹it's totally inappropriate for investors to hang on while suffering from dip during significant
The sonic tools are tin snips. They come in left, right, and straight versions so you can cut sheet metal in left curves or right curves without the tool getting too much in the way. You can see this on the wiss tin snip packaging for the different ones they have. M1 M2 M3 differentiate the direction they are.
Common sense says that you should take the plate before you sell the car if you want it LMFAO, don't cater to people like that. Cant fix stupid. Zero benefit to you, only problems. No good deed goes unpunished as they say, thats a real thing lol. Guys like that are the reason the world is a Circus now. Help people that actually have a chance not people that impede the progression of society.
Love your work!
love THE VIDEO GREAT WORK. The first job i would have done on that car would be CHANGE THE COLOUR
14:40 You need to cut throttle body pipe a little because it's coming way to deep into the bend pipe and restricting a flow
I was already liking this one, but now that you got it all proper, it is such a cool car!
Hey alex ı have a question can you make active spoiler work again ?
Car turned out perfect. The hood looks perfect, car runs perfect and now has the AC and power steering is back and running. Great job with this build.
Thanks for the LS Porsche series! It’s been great and you some of the best content!!!
Alex your car collection… even with the McLaren, Porsche, Ruby, cop caprice, gone or going to be is a perfect legit street car garage and your Mercedes cars are the cherry on top…. I would love to see u get an actual 3rd gen Camaro or even better find a 3rd Gen trans am GTP or maybe a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 door GTP omg sooo awesome!!!!
I LOVE the fact that you take the one-of-one SEMA Porsche to a tuner who has a handful of high six-figure McLarens parked outside, and you geek out over the manual-trans VW Passat wagon. I’m right there with you man!
I absolutely have to hand it to you, not just is the car absolutely drivable now but you did it very tastefully. Job well done!
Fixing the front of that engine cover/trunk and the hood pins were a great addition.
The stretched rear tires would need to go for me, otherwise I love the car. Another Porsche would be welcomed. How about a 928 or 944/968 turbo?
Great job! Love the LS concept! They handle so well! And now it has balls, and it can keep them cool!
You blow my mind the way you jump right into any situation and make it look factory! Great job🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The button options on the horseshoe trim included spoiler up/down, door locks, targa top, rear defrost, door locks, seat heaters (some of these were in the bat wing too)….
Really enjoy this channel !!! It's literally one of the best car build youtube channels !!!!!
Damn I will miss this car. A car I have never owned or even driven! Beautiful build alex and thank you for not letting it go before it was a "daily" type car so we get closure. Means alot! Love the channel and keep this kind of stuff up.
something I like about your channel - that you do actually finish stuff 👏
I have a good tip for you alex. When using 3m tape always clean the surface thoroughly with alcohol. Then stick
I love this. I see so many guys on YT building really nice cars and they remove the AC as a shortcut almost every time. It’s a non-negotiable for me.
Alex love your channel man.. there is so much positivity and fun and learning moments.. your the best keep up the good work 👍 watching you from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Legendary Alex.... I'm so glad I found your channel, especially on this sick LS Porsche. Can't wait to watch more...... Man that exhaust was next level... P.S I'm from Gold Coast, Australia
Alex, for stepped drills i prefer masking tape on next size. So right when You went through with desired size, bigger one "clears" any sharp remainings.
They make a rotating deburring tool
Tony Calvert from Spartanburg South Carolina. I love your channel. I’ve learned a lot! I love your bloopers. Keep up the great work. I was an ASC certified master mechanic for 40 years. I’m in my 70s love your channel thank you
Nice safety squints while drilling the engine lid.
Buttons: Rear wiper, sport exhaust, lock unlock, rear defrost, PSM off, Raise/lower rear spoiler, cabriolet top up/down, targa shade deploy/retract. Probably others but who knows.
The right and left-hand versions of the snips are made for sheet metal workers it so you can turn circles going right turn circles going left and they have a straight pair they’re made for sheet metal workers or HVAC workers
That was a really great series! Thank you, Alex!
Seriously the best car content channel on you tube. I’m gonna miss the Porsche, but there will be others. Thanks Alex 🫵🏻👍🏻❤️
Loved this series! New owner is a very lucky man! Will miss seeing this beauty in the background of all your videos!
I've been using around 2014 Altima electric steering pumps for retro fits these days. Otherwise I go manual steering and electric column on older stuff if needed.
I love it when you see someone who you assume knows so much runs into something simple for the first time and ia amazed.
Like tin snips/aviation snips.
