Heading to the Trent for the first time when The kids break up for the six week hols. Il be based near gunthorpe for 5 days. Any tips of where to fish in the day time for barbel ???
Gunthorpe would be a starting point right down to Collingham. River is low and clear so gonna be tough going just now as i and a dozen other anglers found out below Cromwell weir yesterday. Managed to scrape two out but some blanked.
Nice one Russ, great to see you on the Trent catching some beautiful Barbel 👍👍, lovely day too , let me know if you fancy meeting for a Dearne session this month mate👍, all the best mate 🎣
Cheers Pete i’ve two sessions planned this week on Wednesday and Friday on Trent and a session last Sunday to edit and upload yet. My next week off is week up to Xmas if you fancy a sesh ?
@@ukfishingvlog keep us informed on any South Yorkshire sessions, especially River Don. Had few sessions on Don two pegs down from fish run. No Barbel but had a massive Bream which was a surprise
Cheers Pete. Depends how far across i’m fishing if a boat is passing between me and where i cast i will reel in, if its just going over where i cast its usually ok but depends how deep it is usually its at least seven ft deep where i fish. Best advice is see where your line enters water in relation to a boat. Thanks for watching
Great vid Russ, and so good to see you back on the Trent at Fiskerton. Your earlier vids got me into barbel fishing, so I am very grateful you take the time and effort to produce them. Have you ever fished the tidal Trent (apart from Collingham) ? I've tried a few times with no success. Would like to see you tackle it! Cheers
Thanks Mike nice to know you guys like my videos. Yes i’ve fished the tidal Tidal Trent twice at Besthorpe had an eleven and half pound carp there. Fished peg 23 below Cromwell weir and hoping to be fishing a little lower down from there tomorrow. I’ve another Fiskerton video to edit from last sunday yet hopefully will be uploaded early sunday evening.
Hi Russ, I joined the Scunthorpe club this season to try some new stretches, and have fished Besthorpe, Girton and South Clifton for Barbel/Chub. My first time on the tidal and I don't think I've understood how to fish it yet. Don't think any are day ticket, although Torksey Lock is - have fished there for Pike and Zander, but not Barbel. Would just like a few tips! I've been told it's better at night, but don't fancy night fishing I'm afraid. Anyway, look forward to your Fiskerton videos. Cheers
Yes Scunthorpe is members only and you have to be a member 2 years before you can pay extra £10 to night fish. My old mate was a member and took me twice on a guest ticket at Besthorpe. Dont worry we all have blanks i had one yesterday peg 28 at Collingham.
@@ukfishingvlog fantastic fish. I fished at Rolleston for the first time this season after watching your videos. 2 hour drive from where I live in Hertfordshire but well worth it. I'll fish Fiskerton stretch next time as I didn't really know where I was going and followed directions from the guy in the shop where you buy day tickets
Barnsley & district angling stretch leave Fiskerton with post office on your left you’ll pass cooks lane on your right then a couple of hundred yards theres a dirt track on your left with BDAAC sign, if you see Gypsy lane on your right you’ve gone past it. Its a nice stretch of river but take notice times car park is locked.
As others have said, it’s great to see you back again! That was a cracking session with three great barbel, especially the last one which was a lump. Hope you don’t mind me asking, is this the Barnsley day ticket stretch of Fiskerton or the other one?
Some cracking fish . Enjoyed watching .
Thanks buddy shame its not showing in hd yet 👍🏻
Great to see you back, and into the barbel too. I’m going to try Fiskerton next season, seems a good day ticket stretch.
