Did mine Last week took me ages to find decent ethanol resistant hose wish you posted this sooner 🤣.
I have a 1999 Falco and I will say one thing you’ve missed/could add to your kit is the Falco has two rubber blank caps on the fuel pump base plate mine basically melted and I couldn’t find a replacement without buying genuine.
I have now used a ethanol resistant hose looped back on its self this has solved my issue.
I’m sure other people will have the same issue maybe something to add to your kit?
Keep up the good work look forward to the new merch drop! 😊

After buying a gen 2 not knowing a lot about them 10 miles into the ride home it broke down! Fuel pipe has split! You guys helped out with the kit and it’s been fine ever since 👌

I've been chasing a no start condition all winter. Verified fuel pump primes each time, I have spark, tip over sensor is fine, immobilizer is fine, prom chip swapped out, new battery, new start solenoid, upgraded wiring, replaced cam sensor, triple checked everything. I'm going to be a bit mad if a fuel line internally broke off......BUT, thank you for making these videos. Very hard to find first gen rsv info. I've also made multiple purchases from you guys and even though I'm in the US everything always arrives timely and in great condition.

Great stuff again! My 1999 Mille also had the outer fuel lines eaten away by ethanol. So you maybe want to replace them too 👍

Griff, you should emphasise this issue to Gen 2 owners as well! I have a Gen 2 track bike that this happened to not too long ago. Internal pipes were eaten away (as was the GRP coating on them) and fuel went everywhere. Removed internal pipes, sealed at the top with Threebond 1215 and put a short bridging loop of pipe across the barbs at the base of the tank. Hey presto. Easier than trying to retrofit some internal pipe work to the remains of the inside of the tank, which was an unmitigated disaster. Keep the content coming brother.

@@RichyW75 yes, the drinking straws are the breather pipes. I think they’re PTFE or something, so they should be fairly robust. If I recall, it was the interface between these pipes and the plated steel barbs in the base of the tank these pushed over that was the source of fuel leak. The ethanol in modern fuels is hydrophilic, meaning it absorbs water to saturation. When in constant contact with the plated barbs, they start to corrode and your seal is lost. It was odd how the umbilical cord had degraded, but I figured this was likely not “fully applied” at factory. Anyway, these modern fuels present years of fun for all of us. My saving grace thus far has been to drain tank and pour in a litre or so of Aspen alkylate fuel. Run that through the system before winter store and I’ve not had any issues yet.

    Hello Griff
Great videos keep them coming 😜
Speaking with a family member about your video regarding what ethanol does to your fuel lines and plastic tanks.
He runs a lot of old 70’s Honda’s.
And what he does and I do as well on my Tuono Gen 1 factory and my ZX12R is every time you fill the tanks is to put a shot of Red X in.
This will keep your fuel injection system clean and also he said the Red X will neutralise the ethanol in the petrol.
Plus I always use super unleaded as well.
    Can you comment please.
    Regards
    Steve.

My 2003 Gen 1 has not had any fuel line problems....... but my buddies 2009 Gen 2 had the fuel tubing break while he was on a long trip away from home. Cost him a lot of money and time. Not many competent Aprilia dealers across the USA. His bike was 9 years old when it failed.

Great vid Griff. I have a plastic tank Gen 1 that’s leaking through the drain/vent. Any thoughts on how to resolve? Cheers..

Gen 1 RSV. Plastic tank. I have bought the kit. When reinstalling the pump assembly, do you need sealant or is the o-ring sufficient. I have seen some references to Loctite 518.

So Mille covered but what about RSV4 and Tuono of that ilk?
At what time did Aprilia start to fit Ethanol resistant parts in the fuel system?
I'm guessing that will be after EU started nudging member states to make it required of the big oil distribution and retailers...
PS great video Navajo or Apache?

I have a 01 rst1000 futura with no fuel pressure. Would it be these rotting pipes? It left me stranded the other day and I was completely shook on what went wrong. The thing has spark and mechanically in good shape, it just dies on an uphill left turn light and that was that. Since, I’ve gone through the entire service manual, while getting familiar with motorcycles in general, and tested all the relays plus the fuses.

The symptoms are not by any chance leaking from the overflow line on the underside of the bike when it's sat for a few days? Pressure buildup within the tank when releasing the petrol cap? Seems the 660 range are having issues where Aprilia are replacing tanks under warranty but no clear explanation is given as to why, seems this ethanol fuel maybe already causing issues with the internal line within the tank.
Some have removed the EVAP, some have replaced the O.E cap for aftermarket to try and combat this issue.
Either way it's not good if this is now happening on even bikes less than 2 years old.
I maybe wrong but seems strange as this video is somewhat similar to or maybe the solution.
Good video but need more of this on the Aprilia range :)

bought the kit, trying to put it on now, zero chance the included hose fits over the pump nipple, way too small, tore the shit out of it.
