    The saying goes, "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive", meaning one lie leads to another, that leads to another, and another ad nauseum!!! Every time you lie again, you are forced to cover up the initial lie. This is 1000% TRUTH. This is one of the lessons that exudes from my memory the most from my father's lips. It stays with me to this day. Judge Newman reminds me so much of my departed father.

    Shame that the prosecution will most likely have to convict him again for these heinous murders. What that clerk was allegedly doing is baffling, and so unprofessional. She could’ve waited and then written her book. Her selfishness and avarice has probably cost the state a lot of money.

      Not sure I understand what you’re saying? He’s the criminal here. The unnecessary expenditure would be to retry him. To try him initially wasn’t unnecessary. If he’s retried it’ll be because of one woman’s greed, and it’ll cost the state manpower and money, which could’ve been used elsewhere.

    The male officer behind Alex Murdaugh in no way tries to hide his own judgement about Alex, it’s written all over his face for the whole hearing. I’m in no way defending Alex but suppose you were wrongfully convicted of a crime, you wouldn’t want that guy to be the one insuring your safety and well-being. If he wears his emotions on his sleeve that much during a recorded trial I can only imagine how he is when no one is watching. All I’m saying is that he needs to separate business (his job) from his own personal feelings.

    • @SUZANNECARPENTER-ou3je

      The family of Maggie and Paul did not want the death penalty. They care for Buster and would not want to hurt him any further.

    • @crazybeautiful4270
      @crazybeautiful4270 Рік тому

      Sometimes the Prosecution doesn’t have the right amount/type of evidence to prove the burden of proof to put the death penalty on the table. By going with a “lesser “ sentence , it’s a safe bet that they will more than likely get the life without parole sentence. Unfortunately , sometimes they have to take “the hit “ to ensure justice is served. You can “give “ justice without a death penalty sentence. The burden of proof is the responsibility of the Prosecution , so sometimes they have to take what they can get in order to get a guilty verdict. Prime example is Caylee Anthony’s pathetic excuse of a “mother “ is walking around free , while that poor baby will never get justice. Justice was never an will never be served… Justice was served in M’s case and the Judge is absolutely amazing and the true definition of a great Judge.

    • @crazybeautiful4270
      @crazybeautiful4270 Рік тому

      @@SUZANNECARPENTER-ou3je The family can and absolutely has the right to ask for no death penalty , but ultimately it is not their decision. It will be taken into consideration , but necessarily doesn’t have to be approved.

    • @crazybeautiful4270
      @crazybeautiful4270 Рік тому

      Also , have you ever looked up the statistics of how long someone on death row actually spends in prison ? How often do you think they actually follow through with the sentence? And if so , how long do you think it took them to do so ? Look up States who have the death penalty and see how many people are on death row and how long they’ve been there. What are the ratios for actually getting unalived vs. sitting in a prison cell for pretty much an entire life sentence? Don’t forget to look up how many of those convicted have been exonerated or their sentence lessened by appeals ……So according to your logic no one ever gets justice for the crimes they commit against others?

    • @SUZANNECARPENTER-ou3je
      @SUZANNECARPENTER-ou3je Рік тому

      @crazybeautiful4270 the state explained that they didn't seek the death penalty because of the family's request. I do realize that sometimes the crime is so awful that the death penalty is a must. I live in a state that doesn't have the death penalty, but there was a case a few years ago that caused the public to call for it to be put into law. Our state made no response to the public. A woman's boyfriend raped her toddler so badly that it killed her. The young woman allowed him to babysit while she went to work. The baby was in the crib dead when she got home. We all grieved and were outraged when this happened.
