The Hell Sergeant and Hell Trooper names are references to the Doom Bible of old, where the Imp and the Pinky as we know them today were known as Demon Soldiers and Demon Sergeants, much like how zombiemen and shotgun dudes are often called Troopers and Sergeants.
Imp and pinkie sprites are still named TROO and SARG.
Lithium is probably one of the best examples of TECHNOLOGY in a Doom mod, I hope Marrub is pleased with your in depth coverage of his mod

Idea for the charged fist: 35% damage resistance while active. You'll survive longer, and it would be more useful.
The Plasma Gun has the Halo Plasma Pistol sound.
The cannonball launcher reminds me of serious sam, though i love how lithium's version captalizes on the bonciness of the shot.
Point of clarification: lithium is used in treatment of Bipolar disorder, not depression.

That is one of the coolest mods I’ve seen. I’m gonna give it a try.
This is definitely a cool mod with some great weapons. Oh, and it's not a big deal, but in reference to the beginning of the video, Lithium is typically prescribed for Bipolar disorder (aka "manic depression"; it's characterized by alternating periods of depression and mania. Depending on type/severity, people may even display psychosis-like symptoms during manic phases. It's very different from unipolar depression)
I love the lore of this mod, it's like Cyberpunk + magic, it's honestly great.
I love how at 12:42 while testing the sword you cut away just moments before those chaingunners mowed you down. :D
2:57 A lot of those messages are from Doom 64, where the same thing happens if you wait around for a few minutes after dying.
Definitely gonna have to give this one a try tonight!

Maybe you've made something like this already, but I would love to see a quick video listing a variety of your favourite map wads/megawads. Sort of similar to what you did with the GZDoom tutorial, just a quick "Hey, here are some awesome map wads you should try out and here's where you get 'em".

BTW, I recommend using this mod with Plutonia 2, Alien Vendetta, The Community Chest series, and Doom 2 Reloaded.
I had a few problems with it in Scythe 2 when encountering an Afrit(I think it's because it's a DeHacked monster.)
I think there is also a custom monster pack for this mod specifically.

How do you open the shop and upgrade menu I can’t figure out how
Its a fun wad. My only issue is upgrades requiring you kill a specific monster. I played through all of "Knee-Deep in the Dead" and only saw one of those Shadow guys. and it was in the room you fight the last 2 barons. I finally got to upgrade my weapons, 30 seconds from the end of the episode..

Hell Sergeant refers to the Pinky's original name from the earlier Doom builds. Traces of the name exist in the game, with its sprites being designated SARG****.
A perfect mod to cyberpunk-ish Custom WADs like Auger Zenith.

Reminds me of Zero Tolerance and a particular mod thats also based on the cybernetics.
Over 2 decades later and Doom still has some of the best gun play out of any FPS i've played. Especially with the brutal Doom mod it just feels awesome blasting the living shit out of things. I thought the recent reboot was awesome but the weapons didn't feel nearly as good as they do in classic Doom.
Brutal Doom is the gateway. A novel spectacle for a long, long time. Gameplay wise, it's barely scratching the surface of gameplay mod depth.
Try out Nashgore with just about anything. Nashgore + Weapons of Saturn is a nice BD-lite that scratches the itch when I feel like playing not-BD, but the tactical shooter-esque play that BD turns into as you play harder and harder WADs. Explosive encounters with very low TTK.
But then having decals maxed, with absurdly high sprite limit and it becomes something more than the sum of it's parts.
I'll check this wad out later. :)

Don't know if I'll get any help with this, but, I'll try anyway. I seem to be the only one that has this problem or the only one that has said anything about it. When I boot up Lithium, no matter if it's the base DOOM 2 or a map pack, it runs fine until I actually start playing it. You see, the problem is, I can't see my gun, I can move around, fire, swap weapons and all, but my display of said weapons, is gone, it shows up for a millisecond when the level starts but then POOF it's gone. I want to play Lithium but this keeps happening, I don't know what to do.

The death messages seem to be inspired from Doom 64 because if you die and sit there for awhile, you get some messages that sorta mock you.

I can't figure out how to get this to start up. I think it's outdated or something. It keeps freezing when checking for a network connection on launch. It's not a firewall issue either. Checking in with the dev on this one.
EDIT: Fixed it. My system is acting a little strange after an update.

Maybe. The cosmic horror part reminds me of the W'rkcanter (I'm pretty sure I misspelled that). Could be a combination of things.
