    Nice job reg.
I used to run k&n’s on my carb’d bikes open and air boxed. After a fine tune u certainly noticed (and heard!) a power increase.
I wouldn’t risk it nowadays though reg, only OEM paper for me as there isn’t any power increase with any of these type of filter on a standard engine but plenty of risk to eating through MAF’s.
    All the best

I'm still using the stock paper on mine Reg and it's mapped with a Remus race catback. I've seen a test where the K&N lets in fine particles, it was practically the same as not running a filter at all. This all builds up in the oil via blowby to increase friction causing premature wear.

I’ve also seen a very comprehensive test where this is false. I had a K&N CAI on my 2000 E46 330ci. It was installed at 80,000 miles and the car is still going at 225,000. It was driven pretty much on the redline everyday and did countless track days. Engine is still going strong and it dyno’d at 231bhp at 180,000.

@@roadreg1820 That's a lot of miles with no problems. Hmm i want one now 😂

@@sportsmachinerr1401 genuinely they are safe for your engine. K&N have been making these air filters for a very long time. I clean mine every 10,000 miles and you can see all the dirt it traps. 😎

Hi Reg I notice you have the Ultra Racing strut bar, does it have any benefit and do you know if it interferes with my adaptive suspension. Sorry if it’s a stupid question 👍😁🧐

    Good work mate.
Love the intake sound from my K&N panel filter.
Although to clean mine I soak it in a washing up bowl with fairy liquid, rinse, leave to dry, then oil with '1 Cal Spray'! Does the job! 😉

Thanks Rick. That will do it! Good idea man 😎

What's your opinion on the ultra racing strutt bar. Any significant handling improvement?

Hard to tell Chris, I just think it looks cool if I’m totally honest! But all jokes aside, I’ve got the underbody brace and I feel the strut brace is a good compliment to that.

K&N are a bit wank imo, and I have tried a few over the years in several cars.
Got an ITG panel filter in my M140i. But, hey each to their own......

They’re awesome. Never had a problem with mine. The air box is really good in the M140i’s so a ITG is the best way to go I think.

@@roadreg1820 Yes I'd agree, no need for a cone filter sucking in all that engine heat mate :-))

@@DjNikGnashers hi do you think there is any benefit from running the itg panel filter , reason I ask is I was using one in my 140 which is 540 bhp , and now I have swapped it out for a new oem filter and I feel the car is better with the standard paper filter

@@Addselwyn You know what Adam, at my last service I had the original panel filter put in, and I noticed zero difference lol !
So I think I'll stick to original, it looks like it gives better dirt capture anyway, so less crap in the cylinders :-))

@@DjNikGnashers thanks for the reply , I agree I would rather better filtration with the oem panel filter as my car is a keeper and I’ve had it from new , I have the hot climate mod which is helping and might get the afe air scoop , Peter from pure turbos was running standard filter as well I think on his car , 👍🙂
