Not bad, but you can use that hook on the fixture bar to hold the fan in place while you wire the fan and the remote.

What is that flat black disc that was flush mounted to the ceiling called? I bought a used fan that didnt come with that and i cant figure out what i meed to buy to replace it

Its a mount they sell them at home depot by the lights and ceiling fan section. If you have a Habitat for Humanites close by they usually have a box full of them😁 Be careful and make sure to turn off breakers

No it doesn’t hurt the ceiling because the mount is connected to a wooden beam like a 2x4 so the weight will not sag the ceiling.
