when im making fried chicken instead of egg coat the chicken in kewpie mayonaise then dip in flour the tang of the kewpie mayo and what ever you marinade in really pops
This is an awesome episode chef! I remember when Mr. Affable recommended your channel before, who knew Abroad in a Pan would come true with your guidance. Hope for more collabs in the future, maybe a future cooking livestream on the AiJ studio? Cheers!
I'm so grateful for Chris introducing me to your channel. I can't believe how far you've come Ryosuke since your first video. Your wonderful attitude and approach to cooking is so wonderful. This and ChefPK are my favorite cooking channels.
This is great having Chris on your channel. Fantastic recipe and showing the healthy alternative which also caters for people such as myself who suffer from coeliac disease or gluten intolerance as both rice flower and potatoe starch are gluten free. All I need to do is substitute the soy sauce with tamari or gluten free soy sauce. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
This was the collab I didn’t know I needed. I feel like Chris’ fried chicken arc has completed now that he has been guided by the Champ. Compliments to the chefs
Poor Chris being a Southpaw for him the Right hand *is* the jab, and Ryosuke's an orthodox fighter so of course the left is the jab and the right is the cross. Haha.
it doesnt matter what flour you use youre still cooking it in oil. The cooking method is what makes it unhealthy, an air fryer or oven fried chicken would be an alternative for it to actually be healthier.
My mind is blown by adding the egg to the chicken before dredging. Why take out another pan to put the egg in and dip the chicken when you can just coat the chicken in the egg and save a pan? Definitely using that tip in the future!
Never thought that I would write these words, but... Chicken Porn! As I was eating my Vegetarian dinner, scheming about where I might find fried chicken somewhere close by...
Watching a good knife slice through raw chicken is amazing, my ceramic knives have started to dull a bit so they have to saw rather than slice. Maybe worth upgrading to metal knives at some point.
I truly love my European chef's knife. I'd sleep with it it wouldn't be so sharp. But I really want to add a Japanese chef's knife and a Chinese chef's cleaver in my cooking utensils collection. It's such a different way of cutting I'd love to master!
i came to this channel looking for the dashi maki tamago video that chris was watching for his challenge cooking for sharla, little did i expect i'd find comedy gold and great cooking lessons by such a lovely man. definitely earned my subscription!
That looks freaking delicious, I will cook that for my familiy!✌️👍 Last time I was in Munich I went to a ramen shop with my four year old son. I ordered him some fried chicken and I had ramen. At the end he dont liked the chicken so he got all noodles out of my ramen and I had the chicken.😅
This looks so insanely good! I don't know how I would be able to cook it though, given the microscopic size of my Apartment's kitchen... Tokyo apartments are too small, I tell you.
Followed instructions and made this myself using chicken breast and thigh can say 10/10 was down right delicious and tender. The only note is that I should try using rice oil next time. Thanks for the video. 😁 ご馳走様でした!!
mmmm couldn't you make the "healthy" chicken, with the spicy paprika? hmmmmmm need to investigate, will be back after a few dozens of test chicken fingers :P
"one glove of garlic" my dude this is like quearter of the hole garlic in my country. dont get me wrong but most people dont have garlic gloves thicker then 3 fingers XD
Here is a newbie trick to holding knives. Notice when Chris holds the knife, he holds it in the right position for chopping. Since they're not doing any chopping, you'll be better served by holding it like Champ does, with the middle, ring, and pinky around the handle, and the pinky and thumb around the blade of the knife. This gives you much better control.
Like a dream come true!
Thanks so much Ryosuke for making this happen. This fried chicken was nothing short of insanely delicious mate🍻
Time to hit the bag and jump some rope Chris 😉👊
Your punches looking sharp there at the end! All this physical activity is doing you good!
I wonder if this could be the start of "Abroad in a Pan" 😏
I just finished the Spartan race video 😂😂
Hope you get some tips from Champ for your upcoming fight!
I am glad I came across this channel. All the way from the US, thanks Ryosuke san!!!
legendary cross over we never deserved, thanks really fun to watch through it
when im making fried chicken instead of egg coat the chicken in kewpie mayonaise then dip in flour the tang of the kewpie mayo and what ever you marinade in really pops
This looks so delicious
Wait is this what Chris meant when he said he was training with you Ryosuke?
You'll get Chris into the right shape again Nic. haha
Family chicken vs spartan race
that mountain's gonna be perfect again - drag him back in there again next year :D
Ryosuke gives off the energy of a tired dad and Chris is his 6 year old son that went with him to work cause he had school off
Chris: does anything
voiceover Ryosuke: please don't
This just turned my day from a bad day into an absolutely amazing one. Looks delicious!
here too , i missed champ lately
After the Spartan Challenge , Chris deserves this !
That's not a knife, it's a short sword 🗡️ ! 😲
Best and most unexpected crossover
I get the feeling Chris isn’t used to being in a kitchen… like ever…
if what i hear Chris talking about on this podcast. he can make a egg and that is about all.
Yeah... he doesn't cook all that much
When he talks about his living space I'm not surprised. Wonder if he even has a kitchen in his home.
The way he grabs the knife handle makes me way more upset than it should
If I lived next to a Family Mart I wouldn't need a kitchen either!
This is an awesome episode chef! I remember when Mr. Affable recommended your channel before, who knew Abroad in a Pan would come true with your guidance. Hope for more collabs in the future, maybe a future cooking livestream on the AiJ studio? Cheers!
People collaborating with Chris Broad and spending most of the video making fun of him is one of my favorite genres of UA-cam videos.
I find it sad
Now teach him how to make a delicious vegetarian meal for Sharla! (If she would trust his cooking after the White Day chocolate disaster)
😂😂
She's vegan, isn't she?
The recipe for a delicious vegetarian fried chicken is telling a vegetarian that it's plant-based but it's actually chicken🐤
@@Khazandar nah, she still eat sushi and sashimi
@@saddocatto9245 so, she's a pescetarian
I'm so grateful for Chris introducing me to your channel. I can't believe how far you've come Ryosuke since your first video. Your wonderful attitude and approach to cooking is so wonderful. This and ChefPK are my favorite cooking channels.
He's one of my favorite Japanese video chefs for sure. His boxing moves are legit too 😄
Oh no, if he doesn't need Family Mart anymore, there is nothing to stop him.
Chris is the perfect pick for a fried chicken episode
Champ's videos are always so much fun. There is something about them the relaxes me and makes me smile
Barry Chopsticks using chopsticks to fry chicken, my life is complete
There is a chemistry going on between the two of you. I would really like to see you crossover your shows more often!
This is great having Chris on your channel. Man this sounds good, I absolutely need to try this myself...especially that spicy version. Really appreciate the video though! Super entertaining!
You two look like you had a lot of fun cooking together! Great video, and great recipe!
Chris is trying to be a champ as well and I'm loving the effort he is doing! Truly affable man
Now Ryosuke needs to be on the next series of Journey Across Japan!!
Poor Chris being a Southpaw for him the Right hand *is* the jab, and Ryosuke's an orthodox fighter so of course the left is the jab and the right is the cross. Haha.
I dont know who this Chris Broad is, he seems very affable to me but i do have one question for him....
Are you youtuber?
it doesnt matter what flour you use youre still cooking it in oil. The cooking method is what makes it unhealthy, an air fryer or oven fried chicken would be an alternative for it to actually be healthier.

Abroad in a pan
Rip Chris’s diet 😂😂😂
Now Chris has unlimited Family mart Chicken. Good lord.
I doubt he'll be able to make it himself even though he's just been shown. Lol
Cooking is an art, like all arts, it takes time and and a certain personalization to get it right.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE!?!?!? Lol there goes Chris's diet.
I tried your karaage recipe a few times and it's always turned out great. I'll give this one a shot too!
Please teach Chris the art of cooking! He desperately needs the help. 😅
I always feel happy when you upload ☺❤
I love seeing Champ, always makes me feel better. And doing a video with my second favorite Japan UA-camr, next to Paolo, makes my day better.
Never thought that I would write these words, but...
Chicken Porn!
As I was eating my Vegetarian dinner, scheming about where I might find fried chicken somewhere close by...
I was a bit surprised that Barry Chopsticks seemed unfamiliar with Japanese Cooking Chopsticks.
As someone stationed in Japan raised in Louisiana on the original popeyes fried chicken recipe. Family Mart Fried Chicken is the bomb.
Watching this after watching Chris challenge the Spartan run… “Ah yes, the fuel of CHAMPions.”
Every time Chris finishes battering the chicken... with missing spots of flour... we all cringe at the sight!
Watching a good knife slice through raw chicken is amazing, my ceramic knives have started to dull a bit so they have to saw rather than slice. Maybe worth upgrading to metal knives at some point.
1:16 our man just poked himself in the thumb with the knife… are you okay!!!??
Haha - I missed that, yes perfectly fine! Still have all my fingers
Okay good!!
Man, I always find it crazy how big the chicken thighs you use are. I swear the ones we get in the UK aren't even half that size!
I leave Chris's channel alone for a week only to discover he's doing Abroad in a Pan somewhere else.
Oh my, you two should do that more often. That was amazing. Thank you so much :D
I just found this channel! I love it! Ryosuke is such a warm and nice person!
Loved this channel, great content, I'll try all recipes
I always wanted Chris to learn to cook, but now I’m not so sure.
watching chris hold a knife is like watching a horror movie, please stay safe when cooking
Chris is the fried chicken expert. He approves!
Ah yes, a great episode of Abroad and a Pan!
the happiness in his face when he bites the chicken.
Champ, we much prefer your more thoughtful recipes
I truly love my European chef's knife. I'd sleep with it it wouldn't be so sharp. But I really want to add a Japanese chef's knife and a Chinese chef's cleaver in my cooking utensils collection. It's such a different way of cutting I'd love to master!
I gotta say, you two have such great chemistry on camera! I would love to see more food making with Chris!
I think I'm legitimately going to try to make this...
1:15 Anyone watching Jay and Sharon will immediately knows it's a great video when this song plays. Applies to this video from champ too!
And now my dreams are fulfilled: Chris in a CJK video and a recipe for famichiki ❤
Now he cannot say he only knows how to make just omelette. 😂
He now can say he forgot to make fried chicken
Abroad in a Pan seems to be coming to reality bit by bit
Woo, now everyone's favourite Chris is a fried chicken champ!
i came to this channel looking for the dashi maki tamago video that chris was watching for his challenge cooking for sharla, little did i expect i'd find comedy gold and great cooking lessons by such a lovely man. definitely earned my subscription!
This is the video I didn't know I needed. :) Thank you Champ, and well done Mr Broad!
This is the collab I secretly waited since I found the chef's comment on an Abroad in Japan video!
Delicious looking chicken.
And I'm jealous of Chris for being there. I would so love to return to Japan and help the champ cook.
I love this channel already
That looks freaking delicious, I will cook that for my familiy!✌️👍 Last time I was in Munich I went to a ramen shop with my four year old son. I ordered him some fried chicken and I had ramen. At the end he dont liked the chicken so he got all noodles out of my ramen and I had the chicken.😅

A very nice surprise! You are in the big league Chef! Can't wait to try this recipe tonight at home. 😁
nice to see christ working on his abs
Really good! If you add water to the starch, you get popcorn chicken :D
I love how Ryosuke simultaneously manages to be a responsible chef with Chris near Oil while also talking mad shit in post-production lmao
Chris is the Robert Downey Jr. of English-Speaking Japanese content
Wow🎉🎉
This whole channel is like a magic show. Now we got Chris. It’s like David Copperfield pulled the rabbit out of the hat
FAMILY MART CHICKEN perfect for defining the abdominal muscles!!
Best collaboration ever 😁
13:04
Chris: "God bless oil" *realises his American is showing* "... cut that out"
Ryosuke: No.
where did the diet go?
What Chris xD YOU ARE EVERYWHERE!! I just wanted to check out recipes and now u here again
Joey: clothing brand
Chris: fried chiken

"you can fry your chicken with it, you can drive your car with it. god bless oil."

This is greatness....Ryosuke, did you do the narration? Hilarious!
mmmm couldn't you make the "healthy" chicken, with the spicy paprika? hmmmmmm need to investigate, will be back after a few dozens of test chicken fingers :P
Discovered your channel through the Abroad in Japan tag. Love it, and subscribed!
I don't know if anyone has told you buy Chris has a problem with food, he just can't stop eating, please don't encourage this dangerous behaviour.
Chris: I wanna get abs by November
Family mart chicken:
That one clover of garlic .. is actually same size as whole garlick we have behind our house.. wth jumbo size garlics O.o
"one glove of garlic"
my dude this is like quearter of the hole garlic in my country.
dont get me wrong but most people dont have garlic gloves thicker then 3 fingers XD
It’s Abroad in a Pan!

Fine Chris, i'll taste the Family chicken, i've done the Coolish for pete, so why not. And obviously the psicy one is the best ^^
Watching this after eating an appetizer is just… yeah. Also, does anyone else think that Ryosuke looks like Popeye the Sailor Man?
Mr. Affable came here just to eat fried chicken, even that the price of cooking it .🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yay! Finally the cross over I’ve been waiting for! :D i love how he’s still practicing his boxing moves.
Ryosuke San, I finish mine off in an air fryer. I also do that to store bought fried chicken here in California. Makes it more crunchy and good.
