I love how you manage to connect the dots between one plot point and another. I totally missed the possibility of Skrand and his people being attacked by the Unbidden
Sometimes when playing the game, you start to only see the numbers and functions; it's almost hard to force yourself to read flavor. That's what makes these so great.
If the Beholder truly can transform a species into one capable to manipulate the Shroud, they'll inevitably end the universe, because every Shroud powered phenomena you create enlarges every present black hole.

The Talon's and the Formless working side by side is the most epic telling Curator that I Traxidus of the Forgotten Realms bare witness. When Zadigal and Skrand met in the war room there was an uneasy cold pressure within the room. It had only been a few days since the first sightings of the faceless ones had returned, and our King called for his royal court. When Zadigal spoke Skrand clicked his talons onto the round table, almost tearing the very metal underneath. His eyes never left Zadigal, yet he soon came around as the story of Zadigal fighting his children was one of complete astonishment. It had been known that Skrand's people once lived around galactic core where the Eternal Throne laid within the heart of our galaxy. Having faced many oppositions they left to find a home in the outer rims of the galaxy, but to his shock Zadigal didn't wish for them to stay so near as that would have attracted them to his homeworld that so many try and seek. Influencing the history of Skrand's people through a series of psionic messages, the great leaders of his people took to the stars in hopes of finding a new home. However within the decades the past the formless children traced the psionic ripples throughout the galaxy, and like a moth attracted to the dazzaing lights they truck Skrand's people without warning. Zadigal swore to Skrand that his people will be avenged, and that he is sorry for the pain his children have caused, yet not one more Talon child will face the nightmares that his people faced eons ago. With the Skrand filled with vigor, and our king rising up to marshal his knights into battle these two Legends flashed their weapons high into the air where our King talked about the bonds of brotherhood carrying the day. Though as a Scribe of the Forgotten Realms, it saddens me that in the ensuring battle I was lost to the rifts of time and my experience was one of many great sightings of such titans. Maybe in this new universe I can observe and give insight towards these humble empires eager to here of these tall tales.
If I go psionic route, I always makes sure that if I have keides or sharpbeak, I always make them chosen. Just to make sure they are with me forever 😅 never got the plant lady or obelisk tho.
I have a suspicion that if you play Life Seeded, you have a way higher chance of meeting plant lady, just like how playing Galactic Doorstep gives you a super high chance of seeing Sharpbeak Because I think when I played Life Seeded, the plant lady event happened insanely quickly, so it's my suspicion
It would require three commander slots for Sharpbeak, Beholder, and Zadigal, an official slot for Grey, and a scientist slot for Azaryn Keides luckily can be turned into whichever one you need the most This is def one heck of a council though I've not gotten more than 3 of them in one go, Sharpbeak, Keides, and Grey I believe I found Azaryn twice, ever, and literally haven't seen the Beholder yet
It seems that Azaryn learned from Isshin Ashina because she knows that hesitation is defeat. Maybe that's why she was disappointed when you said that you wouldn't take another life to save your own. She wanted you to say yes because you would do well to kill without hesitation. Or maybe she's just a pacifist, but that seems boring compared to my idea.
I'm late to the party, and haven't played Stellaris in years, but I apparently still know how Paradox writes. My thoughts when listening to Skrand's story veered towards "are they going to settle them somewhere? Keep them on the ship? $5 says they didn't screen for diseases." And, lo and behold..
Yeah, that sudden wormhole in myhome system caught mecompletely off guard... but the Relic World at the end was pretty useful, especially considering how far away it was (even if you have to use jumpdrive for best effect)
I will admit that Stellaris is the first game in years that has gotten me to feel emotions. You build an empire and your choices affect both you and the galaxy. Taking in fleeing refugees because your empire is kind but strong. Smaller empires and pre-ftl species that reach out for help or to simply say hello. As you grow stronger, you become the protector or destroyer of entire civilizations. Your own personal morals affect how you play the game, letting you create what you consider a utopia. It's a good game, and I've enjoyed it.
And clearly, quite a dangerous possibility. And clearly, quite a dangerous possibility. And clearly, quite a dangerous possibility. And clearly, quite a dangerous possibility. . . .
After you get Sharpbeak, you get an event where the titan ship is being called elsewhere. The ship will get removed from your fleet temporarily. Do NOT remove it manually from the fleet! I kinda forgot about the event and just thought it got destroyed by the Contingency. After that, the event ended with a notification that the Talon titan is back... but it's just nowhere to be found. I suppose that if I hadn't touched the fleet, it would be back where it belonged.
Of the four, Gov, general, admiral, scientist I think i'd like fit the Scientist tag the best. Hopefully with some sort of archeology trait or a surveying one. Maybe with a boost to unity if put in the "grand storyteller" position on the council :)

Now you need a governor for each planet. I hope the cap goes much higher than 7.
My personal point of view regarding the cap is that it's fine; I think people forget you don't NEED a gov. on each planet and it does create an interesting balance when it comes to including Admirals. You now have to decide between Gov. boosting eco leaders, or military admirals. I quite like the choice personally. You can increase the cap to 11? Sometime approximately a hundred years later I get an event to install the beholder as ruler in my empire so of course I say yes, now the beholder is my ruler, he isn’t leading the murmuring monolith and in fact no leader can be selected for it now, and best of all the Beholder had a son who is the heir of my empire: The Savant.

What about Greyman? Grey is paragon too.
Scrand had titan-class ship, had not he?
My exakeides got eaten by the event by the sea of consciousness i was so mad and sad
I started the game optimistic about all of them, and unlocked Dementor first. Sadly, he died in an explosion while studying an anomaly.
Grey is also now a legendary paragorn, it has quite impressive governor traits for the council.

The moment I heard him mention “Faceless beings” I instantly thought of the unbidden :p
I appreciate your lore videos because they feel more impactful than just reading text on the game.
Thanks Leo!! Glad you're enjoying them :)
Agreed.
Yeah I’d like to hear you as a narrator for events in the game.
Sometimes when playing the game, you start to only see the numbers and functions; it's almost hard to force yourself to read flavor. That's what makes these so great.
I like it either way. I feel the text approach feels like from soft games story telling through item texts
If the Beholder truly can transform a species into one capable to manipulate the Shroud, they'll inevitably end the universe, because every Shroud powered phenomena you create enlarges every present black hole.
Perhaps this is the class 4 singularity contingency is trying to prevent
@Very_Bad_Dragon I believe the most likely event for that is someone becoming the Crisis and building the Aetherophasic Engine.
Was it every black hole or just the super massive one at the galactic center?
I thought that was just for entering the shroud itself, not simply drawing on it, no?
It's truly amazing to me that Paradox is still updating the game and is also so active in the community with sponsorships and everything. Love your videos, keep it up!
