    It is now 2016, the fine guitars from Chapman are now the next great thing.

      +Jack Lester- George
      2010 Price: £199
      2016 Price: £419

      +Ayrsawf Well in 2010 they were China made, now they are from Korea, and i assume that there have been a lot of changes in wood and pickup quality, so i'd say that the pricing is more than fair

    • @ayirsawft

      Milorad Strbacki I would agree, however I never knew they used to be this cheap.

      Milorad Strbacki Still... would be nice if Chapman could make a nice cheap starter kit for those who just start out and don't know if it'll be a lasting thing. Would be fine if it is China made with China pricing.

    I still think they should do their very own body shape at some point... Make it a COMPLETELY custom kind of guitar.

    • @Erukulon
      @Erukulon 8 років тому +1

      +Mad Dek For example? I don't think too many people would buy a chapman razorback if that wasn't a body style yet.

      I dunno, i guess i'm hoping they could surprise with something unique :P Just something that screams Chapman.

      I think if Dime could make something so crazy and it sells, even though he's huge, I think Rob could get away with something more tasteful and "functional". - I mean, he wouldn't be making an extreme Razorback-type of guitar, that's not his thing. - He's a lot more about being... let's say "reasonable", and I think the final product would be something a lot more accessible to a bigger audience that's looking for a functional guitar, as opposed to a shredding-machine with a "cool"-factor and one of the biggest names attached to it. - I mean, it would HAVE to be like that, but if you make a good product it will likely catch on and sell.

    • @xephh
      @xephh 7 років тому

      That would mean he had to be creative, which we all know is impossible.

    These guitars are exclusively hand carved by left-handed, one legged Druids from a solid block of ancient timbers unearthed from a secret location, then sealed in their case, and delivered directly to the retailer........

    I'd love to see a singlecut version of this soon! (2 humbuckers and trem),and the thing I love about this is the trem, I don't know why almost all guitar making companies forget about the vintage style trem and go for the floyd which basically kills any hope of jumping around between tunings!

    This is incredible, I have never seen any guitar with that price that fulfills 98% of what I want in a guitar!! REALLY nice work!
    The only drawback is that it looks exactly like the guitar I currently own, all black and stuff, so I was wondering if there's any other finish available or something, because most probably I'll be in London next summer and might just by this insane machine!
    Thank you Mr. Chappers for this work of art!

    What is this? It's a gorgeous guitar made from quality wood and top notch hardware, crafted after many players' specs and that just kicks every guitar on its price range AND way above. Why the hell wouldn't anyone consider it the best affordable guitar...

    Argh! I've followed you for a while and played one of these a couple of months back, not knowing it was one of yours. I was tremendously impressed and was really taken aback by the weight and sustain of the thing. I play an Ibanez Blazer, which is a pretty substantial old lump for a strat and this thing made it feel like a toy in comparison. I would have gotten it but couldn't swing the cash at the time and then some git bought it before I cold go back for it. Top guitar Chappers!

  • @sidthekidlives

    I have to say that those stock pickups sound great Rob. It's probably got alot to do with the construction as well; the chunk of mahogany with the snap of a bolt on design and Fender scale length. I would like to see the concepts applied here to some other body styles in the Chapman range. - Si

  • @RobChappers
    @RobChappers  14 років тому

    @EdMickleburgh It's made of tree wood, the finest solid one piece mahogany. That weight you feel around your neck when you strap it on is the weight of win. It actually generates it's own gravitational force and boosts the humbucker once you engage attack mode.
    Seriously it weighs the same as a Les Paul - Concept, take a warm sounding body, add a treble sounding neck and joint = balanced harmonious tones.

    Seen one here in nowhere Ohio..aka Cincinnati Ohio at a church and knew right away it was awesome and sounded awesome.. some Nashville style kid was making it sing .. i was like whoa what is that.. he said chapman guitars.. i made a mental note.. then honestly it slipped my brain but about 3 years later i found rob chapman and andertons on youtube.. needless to say i was like HEY thats the guitar the kid was playing! So I'm taking the whole experience as a huge hint to buy a Chapman axe ! eheh :) This has been a public service announcement!

    WIth so many affordable guitars on the market and available second hand I'm not sure how much of a market is available. And with all the instructional vids and websites, a person can buy a second hand guitar super cheaply and customize it they way they want and make it their own and have it feel, play and sound better than guitar that is 4 times the price. Good luck Chappers.

    Hey there,
    LOVE your new guitar, maybe it will be my next one! How many are there still left?
    What kind of cheap (400GBP MAX) amp would you recommend to me, for Metallica - like sounds, and most importantly, good SOLO sounds. Currently I'm using an aweful line6 15W, that just breaks the sound when I'm soloing with distortion.
    Also, if I would buy the ML1, what kind of pickups would you recommend for me? I was thinking about the EMG81/85, but what about the middle pickup?
    Thanks!

  • @RobChappers
    @RobChappers  14 років тому

    @rouschno1 It's a 25.5 scale C type neck, I used to own an SC245 and I can tell you the PRS wide thin is a very similar cut to the ML1 neck profile so I think you'll like it. To ship one to the USA would cost you £319 which is $460 ;-)
