That guitar rocks all by it's self at 3:30!
You guys should bring this series back
"It's rocking back and forward!" Awesome!!!
My ML-1 arrived on Wednesday, needs a set-up ( bit of fret buzz etc) but other-wise awesome. This is an outstanding piece of kit. If you are like me and have played other top 'brands' and are dubious, don't be. The build quality and variety of tones available from the 3-way with the coil-tap and standard Chapman pickups is outstanding which was a real surprise and far and above other makes above this price range. If you want to give your playing a kick in the arse/ass etc..., try one of these!
The more I see the ML1 the more I want one.
These are good fun and love seeing you guys joke around. Rock on!!
I love my ML-2 SO MUCH!!! I had never played one before since im in the US, so I entirely trusted Rob, and he did not lie about anything. it's a beast and I currently use it instead of my Gibson Les Paul.
Love how Rabea has different guitar faces for different styles he plays
"with Lasers!" hahahaha! I enjoyed that Chappers!
Nice video as always, Dorje. The guitar trick was cool.
Loved the balance, lemons and bacon - you guys sure know how to keep your fans entertained! Cheeers!
Welcome to "Guitar eh' deh"
I LOVE these videos Chappers and Bea. Thanks for doing them.
ExtremeVictoryBalance
I like the G.O.D. series guys. Very personal and candid. Cool.
U are playing 2 different guitars chapters
Just love the ML-1
this guitar sounds amazing
Bea is frighteningly photogenic.
Thank you ;-)
I love Guitaaah 't' Deeeh !
I can't stop laughing at the fact it stands on it's own XD
I have said a Million Times to myself after Watching you Guys Play THAT, I'm going to change up my string sizes... I use Ernie Ball Not Even Slinky 12-56, it comes With a 24p BUT, I change that out with a 24w........ Watching you 2 guys play and bend those strings like BUTTER Makes me want to change up.
THE one and only correct answer tell 'em what the won Johnny!
one of the best vids yet lads
thats is just a beauty guitar
Andertons are the exclusive UK retailer for Chapman Guitars - there will be a demo in Brighton soon though ;-)
Contratulations Rob, you broke physics with your awesome guitar.
Yo! ... You guys always put a smile on my face ... I will have an ML-1 someday ... :)
Guitah Deh.
I is getting me an ML-1. Rabea told me I could get a guitar lesson if I drive to Guildford when I saw him at the Manchester Academy. He might not not remember the conversation but I sure do.
You know what would be cool Chappers?
A Chapman version of the les paul junior doublecut with a Chapman EXTREME VICTORY P90 PICKUP!
that balances itself
loving the bacon and lemons :)
Chappers! Come to Egypt! Doesn't have to be for a gig, just come for no reason so I can meet you! xD
Nice balance!
holy shit man I remember when you posted the first video where you said you'd been given the opportunity to make your own guitar, time flies!!!
Muy bueno si! I need one Mang.
Watch the video till the end - It's just the stock ML-1 with Chapman pickups ;-)
We show three different guitars in this video.
Yeah, the one with Dimarzio's is the original prototype that Chappers to took for himself and the one being played is the current production model ML-1 which is a reissue.
Nice! :D
great fellas, awesome...question; what kind of speaker did you use in this vid? both cabs explaination, please!
and uhhh, great playing bea...:-) can you give me some funky lesson?
cheers guys!
The finish on a guitar changes how the guitar as a whole resonates. The pickups only convey that tone to the amp. While finish might affect tone less than other physical components of a guitar, it does change it.
hey guys love the shows and your band rocks! - hey how much in US $ for that guitar?
Cool that it balances, but where are the strap holders?
Nice vid! Rentjéer natural finishes à bit darker or a bit moore red than before?
I wish I could check out the ML1 but I live in America
öhm....could it be that the headstock of the gutar showed in the kitchen is different to the one they are playin'? :D
guys if you ever produce a good 7string with a nice stoptail (hipshot or similar shiiiizz) I'm all in!
why I never saw you guys use active pickups? greetings from El Salvador!!
Chappers, by chance have you talked to GAK about stocking some Chapman's? Very interested about trying one out.
great guitar. what are you going to do when chapman guitars becomes too big for you to manage? in other words, do you ever see yourself having to use a distributer?
Rita!!
I would like to have this particular guitar. :o Do you still have it?
In my eyes Chapman guitars reminds me of a British version of Charvel...both companies seem to have the same idea of making a really good base model guitar, which as Bea said is a blank canvas for one to modd until your hearts content
we just have a lot of Chapman Guitars in the house.... Guitar of the day is meant to be whatever guitar someone is randomly noodling on.... we make a video..
Sick kitchen bro
An electric guitar is a subtractive system, somewhat like the traditional Fender/Vox/Marshall tone stack. Every species of wood has a particular resonance, and every aspect of a guitar's construction subtracts from the wood's resonance (this is why acoustic guitars can be crafted to have a particular "voice"). While the pickups only sense the vibration of the strings, the vibration of the strings is affected by the vibration of the guitar as a whole.
they make a explorer type called the ghost fret, though I'm not sure if they still make it, cause its a special order
Chappers, why did you remove the strap buttons on your old ML-1? Did you do it so it can balance neatly on your kitchen counter?
I am extremely close of getting an original ML-1. Is it worth it Chappers?
DUDE! I have that levy's yin yang strap, ive had it for 10 years :O
Yes, nine videos, of which a third are about Chapman guitars. I don't really see the point either. We know the Chapman guitars already because he plays them in loads of videos.
Bea is sickkkkkk
They're showcasing guitars that they use. If you had a guitar company, wouldn't you use your own guitars extensively?
I can't recall you saying anything about this recently so I thought I'd ask. Is there going to be a standard ML-3 guitar? Or is the ML3-RC the only T-type model that's going to be made?
I have been talking about a doublecut ML-2 on the forum so long that I hesitate to even type that phrase these days.
You could put humbucker-sized P90's in a doublecut ML-2, you know.
I want to buy one of these or a Chapman Signature! But unfortunately I live in Brazil.... :(
What strings do you use rob? It looks so loose when you bend it
Did you actually watch the whole video? The one with DiMarzios is the prototype, the other one is the production model.
Electric guitar magnectic pickups produce sound from the "metal" strings vibrating. Guitar body resonation can effect the length of time a string will vibrate for, but it cannot effect the tone because there's no additional form of metal interference to effect the actual tone of the metal string.Play your guitar normally, then hold the guitar against something such as a wooden table then see if the table has changed the tone of the guitar. The most you can expect is sustain and volume variation.
Hi Chappers. Talking of trems ,tone and tuning get an earful of this...amazing tone (and feel). I can't post a link here but go to "Michael Reese Super-Vee" on YT. Excellent!
03:50 How many guitars DO THAT!!
did you change pickups while recording this video or used two different guitars?
it's two different guitars!
Lemon!
Thats what I thought as well.
I want an ML-2. I'm in Canada. Help.
they've had at least 2 Chapman guitars on here. their hidden agenda exposed!
I know now.. watched it till the end:)
All guitars should be able to balance like that.
The differences are almost negligible. One quarter turn on the volume or input gain controls on a guitar amp will make ten times more difference.
I love to see a Chapman V or Explorer shape. That'd be fucking sweet.
What happened to pablo?
did you really get a lawsuit filed against you for that headstock? i knew it's not allowed to copy other peoples stuff but i didn't realise they take IT this far :o awesome guitar, awesome VID guys! i'd like to see Bea's Washburn next ;)
Shit really? Sweet. I've got some digging around to do. He should make it a production model. I love me a nice LP but I absolutely love non-conventional shapes like the V or Explorer. Would love to see something like that from Chappers.
An offset model would be great, like a Mustang of Jaguar/Jazzmaster style.
bloody sounds so fuckin insane !!
I think there's a video in witch he compares the tone of ml-1 natural finish with a ml-1 with a lacker finish. It really seems a little different(my ears are not that trained). It might be just my impression or there might be a factor other than the finish altering the tone. Having a third unaccounted for variable influencing final results is a common mistake when getting to a conclusion.
Why do so many players replace sh-5 Duncan Custom ceramic magnet with alnico 8?
because it has a warmer tone I guess
Why on that natural finish does it have a better looking natural finish compared to now the ml1 you produce have wearid lines on it . I'm not having a go I'm just wondering because the these two guitars looked better than the new ml1s because it put me off buying it
The sapele mahogany is obviously showing too strongly or the wood is too place. Try the Ml-1 in Black. It may be more appealing
Meant to say pale
esp please
I have the same strap :D
I'll be honest rob your chapman pickups sound better than the DiMarzio's, to my ears anyway I hope to try one at the mersyside guitar show if I get the chance
0:10 U2!!
Sustain and volume are aspects of tone.
Imput jacks all over the word said noooooo
I'm not against the premise I just wish there was more diversity of guitar brands showcased. It beginning to feel like a promo tool for Chapman guitars.
The ml-1 seems versatile but the reason i don't want it is because it seems too versatile. It has humbuckers in the bridge but i still want a neck humbucker rather than single coil so i think i want the Bea!
or you can put single coil sized humbuckers like the Cool/Hot Rails
pickups on an electric guitar definitely can have microphonics, some more so than others, but try tapping on your pickup, or talking into it... you'll soon discover microphonics. therefore your pickups are also picking up the sound of the body. why else would a hollow body guitar like a 335 sound so much different from a les paul?
Bea playing pocket pool 2:17 ?
Haha it's the guitar from the jvm410hjs demo!
