Just finished my 5 days water fast, I feel great, lost 5 kg. I break the fast with kefir , a small hand of mixed nuts and half avocado! In 3 months I will do the 3 days one.
Hi Great video my friend. I am planning to do a 3 day fast again this week. I did a 4 day fast 6 months ago. I excercise every day for at least 30 mins on a cross-trainer (sometimes much more) and a different muscle group. I am 57 years of age and have a body most 20/30 somethings would want. I'm an advocate of fasting as you feel clean, revived, focused, better mood and just overall good. Ps I still have my two cups of coffee each day. Many thanks, Simon
I’ve tried to water fast - made it to two days - I am sugar free and don’t do caffeine - I drink alkaline water on a daily basis - even though I never made it further, I felt good - so now I try to make Sunday a day to fast - it is like my body is ready for it - I have had a lot of issue after I had my gallbladder out and this seems to do me good - sometimes I’ll drink coconut water with pineapple juice in it or pure pineapple juice with ginger in it - I am gluten and dairy free as well as low carb low fat - never touch anything fried and eat red meat maybe twice a year - I had breast cancer back in 2000 - had no chemo or radiation - I juiced for several months instead - it was the best thing I could done - my body felt so clean inside - I had no other explanation except to say how clean I felt
The problem with eating carbs before a 2 or 3 days water-fast, is that you end up with heavy cravings! That is torture! Lol! Believe me! Tried that. Not again. 😄
@@scottenichols It takes some soft approaching to manage without too much pain! For me, the "cravings" start around 36 hours. I find 48 hrs more than enough fasting now a days.
The bot comments are out of control. Other than that, this is very interesting and has great information. I’ve fasted before but didn’t cut out caffeine leading up to it. I’m going to employ these tips and try again.
I'm very surprised that Dr. Zyrowski never mentioned about a dry fast or taking a small amount of celtic salt or Himalaya salt to keep the minerals in your body while fasting. I do a two day fast. The first 24 hours, I would do a water fast with a pinch of celtic salt or himalaya salt. Then, my second day would do a complete dry fast. I did not drink any liquids or salts on my dry fast.
I definitely want to try this, thank you for sharing Dr. Zyrowski 😊 I guess my only question is will it break the fast taking all my vitamins & supplements, I can't live without them on a daily basis ?
@@allison471 Hey Wellness Warrior, I do not take supplements while fasting. Some you could take and will be fine with, others will make you sick in an empty stomach.
thanks for all the advice. i am working my way to 3 day water fast as i want get rid of my inflammation because 20 to 24 is not enuf to kick into ketosis. I like also water on the entire fast because that will heal my body. I will try also fermented fuds to break it.
Hello , just commenting to let you know you can go harder easily . The longest I’ve EVER fasted was 40 days and 40 nights . And to be dead honest it wasn’t hard , more or less entertaining , educations , and a little scary . Stay hydrate with water , coconut water , and herbal teas strictly . You’ll notice drastic mental clarity You’ll notice around the 6 - 10th day you don’t have poops anymore . By week 3 your body’s adjusted, you have properly sleep patterns , and your moods been altered . Your significantly calmer than before . Like no energy to waste on negative emotions it’s all good vibes lol On week 4 you’ll be amazed your even alive lol I lost a chunk of weight giving me 6 pack abs and the lower V shape .
40 days well done 👍 coconut water can take you out of ketosis but I'm sure didn't effect your effort much, I've gone 6 or 7 usually stop just because I wanna ensure a poop, didn't want to screw up my digestion up, it's already sensitive and I'm over 65, if I was younger I always wanted to do a 40 , may still try ?
Can we do the long fast with coffee? I put heavy cream and a little bit of whole milk foam on top. No sweetners. I need it for headaches and energy. Thanks.
If you work out enough it's not an issue, let your guts have a break then ensure you keep protein high after you break the fast and leading up to, fasting has been used for centuries without these modern concerns, do like he said day one work out , then go into ketosis, then keep active busy during the fast, I can clear out inflammation with a few days, no other way or pill can do this for me I've noticed
Exo ketones are not for everyone. Chance to upset the stomach a bit --> stress --> not gucci durin fast. Also they don't boost ketosis as far as I know but it's more complicated. They are used for well adapted CELLS (no doing much for the liver and "self-ketosis"). So in practice, you're correct for very well keto adapted people. They have well adapted cells already, so exo ketones will not only completely negate all the negative fasting effects, but will only in this case "fake"-boost adapt those cells even more. What I'm saying is only to distinguish keto generated by our liver and just exo ketons that in most people will just boost the score when measured and in SOME people they will adapt the CELLS more, let's say for the long run.
watching this video while eating pork belly. Years ago I was into fasting a lot when I was eating a ketogenic diet. My longest water fast was 14 days. I built up to it from 1 day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days ... Now I've been trying to get back into water fasting by I seem to have a mental block doing so. I can go 1 day or 36h but longer than that I can't mentally do it. Whenever I think I want to fast longer, I start eating like it's my last day on earth. I can't seem to get over this. Then there is my son, who water fasted for 25 days in March this year. He's got a lot of fat to loose. He too can't seem to get back to fasting more than one day now. How can we overcome that?
I have recently completed a 7 day fast and I initially included a black coffee in the mid-mornings (a daily habit that I thought would benefit the fast), but by Day 3 my body simply rejected the caffeine and I was better off just having water and electrolytes. I am still trying to figure out exactly how much electrolytes to consume because I did struggle throughout the fast with bilateral kidney pain and that made the fast harder than it needed to be.
Get sugar free packs, contain maggnessuim, sodium, potassium the big 3 , I use a liquid Sea kelp, has the big 3 and iodine and others , I usually take an extra maggnessuim by cyclanate at night to help sleep
On day 3 as I write this, as usual day 2 was a bitch. Doing a 3 day beginning of every month for immune and body repair. Caffeine helps me get through day 2.
Fasting is alright for some people but others, like myself that does commercial masonry, fasting is not possible. The most I can do is 12-14 fast each day. Anything more than I feel, because the demands of my work, would get me too weak and possibly sick. This long fast are for those that have it easy.
Anyone who is fat adapted and readily using ketones for fuel doesn’t have much of a problem. In fact, there are people running marathons in a fasted state. There’s also a gentleman on UA-cam who used rolling 96-hour fasts to lose a lot of fat. During his fasts, he continued to go to the gym and lift weights and walk for an hour a day, then he is a photographer and moves around a lot during his job. And “laying around quite a bit” while fasting is not suggested, as you want to stay active.

Actually he already mentioned in another fasting video.
@robertwilliam9558 I've mentioned Celtic Sea Salt and Himalaya salt because it's cheaper to purchase, and some do not like the taste of electrolytes.
I wouldn't dry fast because without water or fruit juice your body can't hydrate and clean itself but everybody has their own way.

How do you add electrolytes to your water? Salt?
When i break my fast i eat a red apple and maybe a little peanut butter.
How about teas? Green, lavender, hibicus etc?
All tea is good, has antioxidants helps you get the toxins out

You can break it with anything, but keep it light is my advice, a soup, a yoghurt, some fruit, something like that.
