      I love the way Louis talks and conveys ideas, he doesnt sound phoney or full of himself or like he's trying to make people think he's smart, he just talks like a normal person but with great insight. I tried hearing Daniel Day Lewis talk about acting once, I can't help but tune him out, he's so up his own ass.

      Christopher Page
      Because it would mean that he holds himself to a higher standard than most other people. If he questions and betters himself relentlessly but decides not to put others through the same treatment it would be either that he doesn't care for them or that he figures they can't handle it.
      However, he does challenge the people that view his comedy just like Carlin, it's part of what makes him so great.

    • @Chrisjonpage
      @Chrisjonpage 8 років тому +6

      etagged yeah I would say I agree with your logic, but I do realize now that there are plenty of times in which he challenges his viewers or even characters on his show that play loved ones ect. but anyhow I dont think its that he holds himself to a higher standard as much as it may have to do with empathy. And i think most of the great comedians / artists but themselves thru alot of personal aguish and criticism when they put out material.

    I love so much that Louis wasn’t ruined by his scandal. Like, he’s touched by it, but he ran with it and was able to make fun of it and be sincere about it. I also love his transition from his first style through his evolution. I don’t know any better re-creation of a talent than ck. He’s just the G.O.A.T. in my mind. Everything and anything comedy can be, Louis is. Just so happy to be around to see him.

      @@firstnamelastname-zo5gd I'll meet you halfway there. He fucked up in the past, but was protected from the consequences because he was making other people money. He was going through some pain in his life, was acting out, hurt people, but never had the opportunity to learn from smaller consequences. When he got so big and his life was in a better place, but he was also taking ownership of his production, all of a sudden his past transgressions surface and he gets body slammed. Plus, he actually issues a heartfelt (imho) apology, which gets him in MORE trouble. Had he pulled a normal highroller move and buy them with NDAs and never admit to anything, he'd have come out of it relatively unscathed.
      Why is each individual treated as a singular deviant but the system that enabled it, and STILL does, is never really taken task??? Why don't the people who enabled and benefited from these individuals ever have to answer for it??? They all turn on their cash cow publicly and then move on with their millions...

    Miss watching LOUIE. Wish Netflix would have enough balls to give him a show. If not, give those girls a show so they can live their comedy dream because I'm curious as to how good they were to start with. I'm sure it'd help them get over being so traumatised. I want to see a reenactment of that night.

    Louis is so good that made this interview interesting even if Bill Simmons sucks. Bill just keep interrupting Louis on nice ideas and then they don't come back so it is lost.

    Those microphones are uncomfortable large. There was a comic named Patrice ONeil who had ac suitcase filled with those that he took to Brazil a few times. Heh

      @@jamahlrawls3520 It’s a figure 8 microphone and the pre amp is probably up fairly high, because their would probably be to much of a proximity effect if they were up close

      System Shock Loved him on Maron's podcast. Love Maron too; the man, his podcast, and his IFC series.
      Louis though, he's also fucking hilarious in any and all of his Howard Stern interviews.

      Mandy Pote LOL nice catch! I'm usually weirdly observant, and notice things like that. That's funny, and I'm sure totally incidental. Same pic is on the DVD cover for the first season of LOUIE.
