We related to this video so much!! We aren’t diagnosed yet (in the process of) but as a system, we struggled to accept everyone or even know when we fronted because that self awareness is new to us. Just the other day an alter realized he was an alter while we were filming.
I would also recommend filming videos to document differences and learn, it also creates opportunities to reflect in ways we wouldn’t if not speaking to a camera privately.
We’re not a RA system so thank you for making two different videos!

My diagnosis was in 2005ish. I kind of remembered for a bit, but then completely went into denial and didn’t even think about it again until about 6 months ago. Life had gotten so chaotic and stressful and what used to be OSDD was turning into full on DID with memory gaps that were really unnerving me and unsettling my partner. I started doing some internet searches and then was like, oh, wait. I got that diagnosis like 20 years ago…let’s look THAT up. Oop. That would be it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Fortunately my original therapist is still in practice and was willing to see me remotely. I am so grateful to the DID UA-cam community because it is really helping me grab hold of and really deal with it this time. Staying in Acceptance has been key to me making some rapid progress over the last few months.

This is something that we’re struggling with so much. We’re polyfragmented and switch way too often and sometimes blend. This can make it so hard to know who I am.

@@butterbee_bb sometimes knowing isn't necessary if things are still getting done, you know? BUT not knowing can itself be distressing so I get it. 🫂 Be patient and kind to yourselves about it. Sometimes alters are scared to admit who they are at first so they'll mask or other things like that.
Only patience and self love brings everyone out safely .

@@IlluminaDIDthank you :) I think one of the things we need to come to terms with is also that we’re not in a safe environment and even though part of our healing journey has already started and advanced, we need to halt some healing progress to focus on safety. Not all of us are aware of that so we really appreciate your reminders about safety first which can help pass along the message.
