  • Avoid ordering the incorrect part for your LG OLED TV!
    Demo model: OLED77B2PUA
This tutorial applies to all LG OLED TVs
First, remove the back cover and power cord
If you power the TV on and hear a single relay click and the standby light flashes once, it means your main board is good.
Test the power supply by checking the 23V and 12 volt rails. With the multimeter probes in place, power the TV on. You should see the voltage come up briefly and then drop.
If you briefly see the voltage, disconnect the drive cables from the main board going to the T-con
Now recheck the power supply voltages. They should come up and stay.
This means the power supply is good and indicates a shorted panel which cannot be repaired. Contact the manufacturer if your TV is still under warranty.

I put out a question about my 77 inch C2 that the power light would stay and standby only blink once most opinions was it was a fried panel. This video tells you if you plug it in and the relay doesn’t click then it’s probably your main assembly board tried that didn’t work. Tried the power supply that didn’t work. I knew the power supply probably wasn’t gonna fix it. So I went on eBay found a Tcon bored it was 30 bucks plus shipping and that’s what was wrong with it so I spent almost $200 on two boards that I didn’t need to replace. I’m not saying this video is wrong in some cases but in my case like people on here that have tried the same thing and it didn’t work. You need to look at the Tcon bored as your culprit

    • @tomsixsix

If there's no LED at all probably a main board fault.
Otherwise a panel fault still needs to be eliminated as a cause.

I'm currently working on a 48" and the lower 2" of the screen get horizontal lines and then the TV turns off. I already tried replacing the TCON board but the same issue persists. Now I'm between the main board and the power supply. I'm thinking the main board is the fault but could it be the power supply? TV only stays on for about 3 - 5 seconds. First 2 seconds there are no lines, they they appear and then a second afterwards the set turn off.

Likely the panel. PSU doesn't cause lines . I repair tvs. Panel or tcon. The lines you described are panel.

my c1 77 oled is not turning on display but standby light blinking I here clicking on and then another slightly different click and this repeats but nothing displayed. on click is more linked the ping sound panel usually makes when turning on or off. it will not power off via remote or physical button have to pull the plug. I have extended warranty but we do have consumer guarantees by law here so retailer has arranged with LG. hopefully it's fixed by them as manufacturing issue. I saw one pot saying this is known issue by LG pointing to power circuit as failure point. TV has worked very well since we got it mid 2021. We only had 1yr warranty knowing lg offers 3 4 years I think. have u seen this cyclic clicking sound b4?

Siempre se debe desconectar la alimentación de la t-com para ver si es problema del panel. Desde el cable lvds de la main más estrecho se puede activar el test pattern y forzar el encendido del panel.

With everything connected, when I plug my TV in the standby light goes out briefly and turns back on (but no relay click) Does this mean my mainboard is still good? If I disconnect the lower ribbon off the main board where it says P7601 when I plug the tv back in I get the standby light, relay click, then i get three additional standby blinks then the standby light turns off entirely. My board shows 22v and 12v constantly so I think my power board is good.

I have a question. I have a 77 inch LG C2. I believe lightning hit our dish because every TV in the house. The cable boxes went off but in our back bedroom, the cable box went off and the TV. So I took the back off, watched your video Plugged it in waiting for the relay to click it never would click check the voltage on the 12 V rail. I was getting 8.3 V but it never dropped down checked the 24 V power rail and could barely get 2 mV so I assumed it was the main assembly board get a main assembly board plug it in with a ribbon cables on and the relay still doesn’t click on the power board unplugged the TV take the ribbon cables off and when you plug it back back in the standby light is now blinking three times so I checked the voltage. I have 20.2 on the 24 V rail and just under 12 V on the 12 V rail confused and also not a TV repair man do you think it’s a panel or the power board which by the way I have ordered any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

remove all 5 cables to the panels t-con and try to turn the tv on, if it turns on logically without any image then your panel is shorted. You can also measure the voltage from the black/white 24 pin cable (there is an 24 on the cable) that comes from the power supply to the Mainboard there are small pins at the mainboards socket right at the socket where the cable is seated in. Measure all of them one should be at 3,3v in standby.

    • @romcapprotti1976

@@Darksidewolf1996 you said remove all four cables. Are we talking about all four ribbon cables? I know this that when you remove the bottom ribbon cable from the Tcon to the main board and then trying powering the TV on the standby light will go off like it normally should when you are trying to turn the TV on. I replaced the power board. The relay will only click off and on consistently when you remove the bottom ribbon cable from the Tcon bored

@@Darksidewolf1996 then this video is wrong because the first thing when he takes it back off, he tells you to plug in the power source the relationship click on the power board it doesn’t do that so that would lead you to believe it’s a main assembly board because he said if relay clicks then the main assembly board is good well that’s not true cause I replaced the main assembly board and you only way it will click as if you remove one of the ribbon cables the bottom one the only thing by replacing the main assembly board did is the optical port lights up with the original main board it doesn’t so I’ve replaced both board in each board. It does something different. I don’t doubt your diagnosis. You probably know way more than I do, but could it be the Tcon bored at this point what do I got to lose? I can get one for 35 bucks thank God I didn’t buy these boards new. It’s frustrating that a TV that’s a year and a half old I’ve had nothing but problems. It means it's overheating. My CX was doing the same thing. I replaced the thermal pad in-between the soc and the vapor chamber. I also cut a hole in back case and installed a 120mm computer fan over it. This fixed the issue.
