Thanks so much for the video. By following your troubleshooting advice, I managed to fix our TV today. I found a main board for less than £5 on eBay, and that did the job perfectly. It's thanks to people like you that we can prevent (almost) perfectly working item from going into landfill. Please keep doing what you do.
Nicely made video and the voice is very good with no annoying background music. For a retired technician like myself, he really didn't say much other than just replace the board. Most likely there was a short on the bad board pulling one of the supply voltages down. However, I would have found which line was low when it was all connected up and then try and run the short down. Sometimes the shorted part will even get hot if left on for a short time and then you can go to it. There is always the possibility that if it was hit by lighting that there could be numerous problems with the bad board. Having said all of that, sometimes to save money and headaches just doing what he did on this video is the best way to go. Tring to repair a surface-mount board can at times be a headache.
I wish I had found this video last week. If I had known I could do that trick with turning the backlight on by unplugging the harness from the main board, I could have saved some money by not ordering the power board. Great video
Really easy to follow troubleshooting guide. Thanks for sharing. Our tv that’s less than probably 5 years old has died. Bought at Costco but since everyone abused the return policy by upgrading their tvs every year, it’s way past the 90 day return window and probably past the extended as well. Power or logic could be the issue. Measuring the fuse and verifying voltage levels first was key. I’ll do the same.
great video ,i have a two year old 75 inch Samsung that while i was watching ,i heard a pop and believe i saw a small sparking near where the power cord plugs in. my TV went black and will not turn back on with no lights anywhere. i haven't taking it apart yet but your video is giving me hope that I can fix it myself
If a PCB is dropping the power supply voltage down to 0V, or, as in your case, causing the TV to seem to be turned off when plugged into the power supply, then there is probably a short. Replacing an SMT board is the most common solution to this problem, as you have shown. If you wanted to find exactly what component was shorting, pour 90% isopropyl alcohol over the board and, under low power of a stereo microscope, see where the alcohol dries up the fastest. The component on which the alcohol evaporates the fastest is the shorting component. Now, you can order a replacement board, substitute the shorting component from the board you ordered, and keep the board that you ordered, plus the board from the TV, as extra boards from which you can harvest replacement components for future TV and electronics repair jobs. Here was me thinking that I would have to get out a soldering iron, when all I have to do is have a spare power board and main board for every TV ever created :-)
shop jimmy has both of them for EVERY TV....used them years ago for another tv i found..........WAITING FOR A NEW MAINBOARD FOR A 43 INCH LED lg tv....works awesome minus both hdmi,s are shot......$35 here friday....30 minutes ..done...rather have hdmi to my pc...then to ethernet cable only....smart tv,s are not as smart vs hooked up to a pc....fact...
Electronicle, thank you for your help. I tried the simple steps of unplugging the tv for a minute and replugging; didn't work. Then took the batteries out of the remote control, pressed the on button for 15 seconds, placed batteries back in the remote and pressed the on button, and it did not work either. Your video gives me more information as to what might be wrong. There was a storm a couple a days before it stopped working so probably that had to do with the malfunction. I will follow your instructions before I decide to get a new one. Thanks again.

This guy makes sence others don't, Massive Respect keeping it simple knowledge is power...
Nicely done video. It was really helpful to me, thank you! I thought my issue was the main board but was not. I found that the scotch tape method on the connectors worked for me. Nonetheless. Your trouble shooting steps in this video helped me tremendously to narrow down the root cause of the problem!
Thank you. I was told that without the indicator light on the lower corner wasn't on then you have no power. So you need to get a power supply board to start with. I got ahold of your youtube instruction and found out it was the video board. Very helpful. Thanks again.
Sir, I've found your video to be the most useful and knowledgeable video among the hundreds I've watched. I am an electrician, but I'm not getting any readings from any of the pins from the power supply side. Also, when I unplugged the cable from power supply to the green board, no backlight came on. Would it be safe to assume the power supply/inverter is no good? Thank you in advance for any help, and the awesome straight to the point video you created for the rest of us 🤓
obviously it depends on your specific board and how its designed but yeah if there's no output then its probably the culprit. There will usually be at LEAST a constant 5v from one of the pins on all TV's. This allows it to go into a sleep mode but still keep an eye out for the power command from the remote or console power buttons.
Thank you for your very helpful video I had a 2022 Samsung TV that would not power up. Found out the fuse on the power supply was blown. First I disconnected the main board, unsoldered fuse from the top of the board. Put in a temporary fuse and that blew immediately. Found a board on eBay for $40 and that's on the way.
Very helpful my televisions died all of a sudden and its 3yrs old I tried everything to get it to work. Now I see how easy it is to fix,I guess I'll just take it to a shop and have them fix it. Hope they dont over charge me!😥 Thanks for sharing.👍😊
Thanks for the commentary on the power board testing. My UN55KS8500FXZA revision AA01 won't turn on and I tested the power and the cable. Going to this stage next. 👍
Thank you. Your videos are extremely helpful, informative and excellently put together. An extremely good service to those learning about tv repair and electronics in general. Atta Boy! Keep up the good work.
I have the same TV and replaced the power board which solved my problem for a few weeks. Now I have no picture. Watching your video I have the same symptoms (no picture and lights go on when you unplug that cable). Looks like I'll order a new mainboard and hope that the T Con board is not bad also. Thank you.
THANKS --- a few years ago ( maybe 3 ) I purchased a 56" Samsung TV which had been a DISPLAY model at a store ( probably had been on 24/7/365 until they reboxed it to sell it ) . Purchased it cheap -- It lasted until just a few months after the warrantee expired --- I was watching it and part of the screen started to go dark then the whole screen just went dark in about a minutes time. It has been siting in the other room for the last year now. After watching a few of these videos I think I might try and tackle trying to fix it. I have no idea what is wrong but I guess I can at least open it and see.
Thank you for this, carried out your checks and found my Samsung tv has a faulty power board. Replaced with a secondhand one of the internet and back up and running👍🏼
I'm in the exact same situation.. got a philips 55pus 6401, died on me after lightning strikes . Of course it's just 3 months outta guarantee. . I've replaced the power board today, but still nothing. Replacement motherboard on the way,I'm hopeful it'll power up after seeing this vid, which is v informative, v useful, subscribed.
@@sirdon9304 all working now. got a donor TV, same model with broken screen dirt cheap- and took the parts out of that, direct swap with mine and it's all working fine now. Not sure how yours still isn't working, you got no standby light / ambilight/ Philips logo showing ?!
Your diagnose was good but you stopped to early. There is a mosfet on the board that you should have checked, it is for the power of the main chip that shorts. Just check for the legs to short and if it is shorted change it, you can get 10 of them for $5 and a lot of Tv's all use the same or very close.
I agree he should have kept going …..but perhaps he had spare boards on hand or the board was less expensive than his time to do component level troubleshooting. But certainly this video can help a lot of “ laymen” salvage their tv by showing that’s it’s not overwhelming or that you need to be a rocket scientist
Yippee I fixed my tv. I have the parts and I swap them out one at a time and found it it was the main power source the first one that you tested to be the culprit. I put all the new parts in anyway and we'll save the ones that we're not the culprit for future use. I figured I had the TV open and I already had the parts I might as well switch them out. I'm so happy and it didn't cost me a penny. 12 years ago Best Buy was just supposed to fix my TV in the parts didn't show up on time so they brought parts then when the other parts arrived in the mail I just kept them for future use and I'm sure glad I did because now it's like I have a brand new TV. It's a 3D TV plasma so they don't make those anymore.
Was about to give up on this same TV until I saw your video. Neat little tip about the backlights and checking voltage showed me that a few of my backlights were bad and must be shorted as they are impacting the outputs from the power supply. New backlights on order so I should be back in business when those arrive. Thanks for posting this video!
Thanks a million for your amazing videos, it's been a long time since I last fixed one of these tvs but I remember you doing it before and I just need to say thanks again for such great work 😀 👍
Good video. Have a 6900 series that a storm took out. On it all the boards are in one. All it has is backlights. I'm waiting on a replacement board to come in the mail and hoping it will fix it. 60bucks will be a lot better than $410 for a replacement.
your were great, just fix my un75ju6500fxza , was watching tv screen went green then black, but I still could hear sound. watching your video, gave me the wii to try, its working mainboard.. thank you
Yessa.. same situation, worked great, storm hit. Hdmi ports stopped working. TV works periodically, sometimes the tv will turn on and off again without actually booting up no matter how long you leave it unplugged. Pretty sure since the hdmi ports are toast and it does power up sometimes it's almost gotta be the main board huh. Think I'll give it a shot. Thanks buddy.
My Samsung, that I purchased 9 years and 3 months ago, had the front red LED still flickering in response to the remote control device, but that was as far as it got. The screen and sound remained OFF, and the red LED would simply remain ON instead of turning OFF as the screen and sound come to life. So step one was to check all the PCB electrical connectors to be sure there is no oxidization. Once each of them were cleaned, I plugged them all back in, and bingo, my Samsung LN32C350D1DXZC TV was up and running again. That was about 2 years ago, and it is still running perfectly today. Long ago, I did also add a fan, to keep the TV much cooler, and thus keep the electrolytic caps much cooler as well. That one little old CPU fan made a huge temperature difference.
I've tried doing the hard reset by unplugging for a full minute. I've had tv unplugged and pressed the power button on bottom of tv for a minute as well as suggested by another YT channel with same result tv won't power on. They also suggested taking out the batteries and press the power button on remote, which didn't work either!!!! Now, I've come across this video, which makes me hopeful that we can fix our tv instead of incurring the cost of purchasing a new one. You made it look relatively easy except for 2 things...1) where was the replacement board purchased? 2) how much did the replacement board cost? I hope you respond, because I'll pass this video on to my husband and I'm sure he would like an answer asap. Thanks for posting
Very informative video, good testing. I am currently checking my Samsung UN55J6200DAF bcuz a few days ago, as we watched Tv, we began to hear crackling at the rear of Tv and it went dim blue, then black. It turned off with remote, but I disconnected everything off the wall outlet as precaution, bcuz I also smelled burnt wire. Watching pertaining videos, I checked fuse, its good. I inspected all 3 boards and only at the power supply board did I see like melted wire plastic. I could not see anything unusual on the main green board, it has a red lit port. The T-con board seemed ok as well, it has blue lights when I power on. Odd thing is, she turns on with power button and remote, but will only turn off with remote. I tested all LEDs thru the corresponding wire leads and many did not light. I tested the port pins from where the LED connector goes, and it had No current going out. I did perform the test you did, unplugged cable connector from main or logic board and did get the four 12.65v results in those leads, plus the 4.50 power on voltage of other set. One thing is for certain, I am going to replace All the LED strips with new. And Im prepared to replace the power supply board as well. However, I am not sure about the green logic/main board. Waht say ye..? I'd appreciate any input. (incidentally, this Tv is 7yrs old, was working flawlessly).
Thanks - just went through this for my UE48HU7500ZXZT before ordering a new power board and yes, my power supply board is fine. So now to track down a mother board. Thanks!
Modern control boards are not easy to repair. Capacitors, diodes, resistors, etc are really tiny and difficult to desolder/solder. You’re better off replacing the whole unit.
Me too that’s what I spent 6-8 years training to do. 94-2002. Now it’s all smd so it’s to awkward to do. It’s all digital so the circuitry is completely different too. Used to love getting the circuit diagrams from reference library at college and in the village where I lived (about 1000 people) I was the man they turned to. I did it really cheap and sometimes only broke even but it was pocket money. Used to get help training at college. I still fix my own VCRs and CRT TVs but nobody else want ps anything doing. It’s the throw away society and the market is flooded with Chinese crap with no diagrams available.
Ive seen alot of these videos and in most cases its like get to the damn point. Your video wasn't like the rest which was koo... From my experiences and just having nothing better to do, if you grew up not having all the money in the world and things broke; for most that's how you learn to become a handy man. So for the people on here watching these type of videos and say "its because of these videos that gave you the push to jump in and trying to fix it yourself " i 👏 applaud you guys that's all it takes . To be honest 7 times out of 10 of all the tv's i fix here and there, its really only the Capacitor's and the ribbon cables that go bad and its really easy to fix those. As long as the lcd monitor or l.e.d's are not broken then usually what i just stated are usually the culprits.. If your an unlucky one it might be something a lil more but like i said if it isn't the screen or lights its easy to fix these things.. I got sick of seeing and hearing how people get ripped off for a fix that really was only a 5$ fix but getting charged about 100 then an additional 60 to "order" a part smh.. Good luck to all of you who are trying to roll on your own to fix your stuff don't get bamboozled by con artists.. Good video too!
Great video. My samsung UE40EH5005K just died yesterday and I really can't afford a new one right now, basically not even used. No standby light, TV doesn't turn on. Took the power board off today and tried to check with my dad if something's wrong but we're no experts. I'm gonna try that backlight thing tomorrow to see if the power board is just dead. There is an area where the board is darker but visually to an untrained eye couldn't figure it out. Would be really nice to be able to fix it rather than buy a new tv.
Thanks for the video that will help me fix my neighbours TV that went off after a power surge or lightning strike. Would be nice to know what component that failed.
*I know this is an old video and prob not get any answer/comment but. Hi there I have a Qnix 2700 that suddenly would not power on, it just went black while playing a game. I took it apart to see if I could see anything obvious but everything looked fine. I noted the power board number MST9XG7-WV2 and tried to find one but couldn't find anything but after watching this video I put the power board back in place (without the smaller board REALLY Small one)to do what you did @0:53 and without the other board connect the standby light came on(wasnt doing anything when everything was connected)So I think I can now assume its the other board. I took a close look at the other board and there are not many components on it and I think(not 100% sure) but one of the 110v 47uh capacitors looks SLIGHTLY bulging out no discolouring and not bulging out like I have seen on youtube videos but it does look like i is very very slightly raised so I have ordered one to replace it to see if that fixes it. I wanted to ask advice to see if you think this is probably the case(since the standby light comes on without the other board connected) and to ask why I would need to get the EXACT same (smaller board)logic board? to get it to work and why couldn't I just get any? Its a 27inch 1440p so couldnt I just get any logic board thats for a 27inch tv? And to thank you for the tip which might have pointed me in the right direction.
Thank you I will follow your instructions. I have the same problem with a LG screen 40 inch probably. Just curious what the problem is and if I can fix it. Good challenge
Hi, you have presented an excellent video showing voltages to verify, I dont get backlight at all does that mean Power Board BN44-00667A is bad? I would really appreciate if you could guide.
Great video. Can you show video of how to repair/replace optical/audio socket on 2018 Samsung UN6900 smart tv? Worked until optical cable was pulled against when earphone adapter unit was pulled off of dresser and it hung down on the extended optical cable. I can feel that the optical/audio socket is loose. Can you show what parts or electrical board needs to be repaired/replaced? Thanks a lot.
I have a similar TV, 46", 550 series Samsung (LN46A550P3FXZA) and the problem is that it struggles with startup...this has been going on for about a year and most people would have given up a long time ago. - The TV chimes when "on" is pressed (on remote) but nothing shows. After several seconds it tries again, chimes and so on. Sometimes there can be a hideous noise and sometimes nothing... I have noticed that temperature in the room is important - if cold, TV may never manage to startup, but if fairly warm, it will startup after some time. And then when running, there are no problems... We recently decided to get an LG 65" "ThinQ" but this machine, as it turned out, just reminded us how amazingly stellar the Samsung was, so we returned it and we started using the Samsung again. Now, after having stood idle on the floor for a couple of days, it still had startup problems, but much shorter, maybe 15 minutes whereas previously it had struggled for up to 90 minutes...and also, after stabilizing, it really is "stabilized" whereas before it might, if temperature has cooled in room, snap back into the hideous noise and scrambled screen state again... So I'm wondering what's going on - after warm and stable, it runs flawlessly and picture quality on this 11 year old machine is so great, that you'd have to go to QLED or OLED to surpass it...so I'd like to "save" it...and I'm wondering, what is this "warm up struggle" all about...? - ...can I fix it...? Part of the story is also that after about 5.5 years, the TV suffered another, similar, but not identical, startup problem. But that time, Samsung put in place a program whereby a technician would come and fix it in your home (for free), even though warranty had run out...very nice of Samsung. But this is eleven years and Best Buy just wants to sell you another TV, not assist with "fixing" an old set....(and I'm beginning to wonder if it is at all possible to make 4K TVs that equal or surpass 2K machines....the LG certainly didn't)
Might be a bad capacitor in the power supply or main board. Really only way to find out is to take it apart and find out. You'd have visually inspect as well as test voltages coming from the power supply
Thanks for reply - ...yeah, and I'm not qualified to do that. - Yesterday I started the TV in the afternoon without doing anything to warm up room, but temperature was "comfortable". It took 13 minutes of attempts but then TV stabilized and ran flawlessly the rest of the day...so it's just the startup process that is a problem, but far LESS of a problem now than earlier... It may restart with total silence and a black screen and then at next restart, you might have black screen and a hideously loud hissing noise...then noise and a frozen corrupted image and so on, until it manages to perform as intended...
A good whole house surge protector may have stopped that, but in any case, you still fixed it. You should always unplug everything electronic during a storm anyway.
hehe i have my tv laying out here, with a similar problem, so was gladly following your instructions as a complete electro-novice. 1. Check power supply pins one by one. check, they're working, same as in the vid! 2. Get second hand mainboard supplied by owner... crap, dont' have that. Anyway thanks for sharing, the tip for unplugging the mainboard to see if the backlight was working was very nice to know!
I had the same issue and was able to spot some hairline cracks in some old solder connections. I just tapped both spots with my soldering gun and got it back up and running. Haven’t had any issues since. The cracks in the board were only visible on the back side of the board after unscrewing.
@@mareknosek996 Sorry. its been so long ago I forgot. Just duckduckgo the part number and call everyone that shows that they may have it.It is a very very very hard part to find...
Thank you man. Well explained. Mine is a samsung LCD it keeps flashing the red light switch on indicator light but wont switch on screen. I remove it from a plugging point to another and it worked for 15 mins and started flickering again on a black screen.
I have one of these that recently went bad, I've inspected the outer board and checked all the caps and diodes, I even removed some components to see if any were dead but they weren't. I didn't try the outer up with the cables removed though, I will try that later. It could be the same board I have problems with!
That same 10 pin connector and table seems to be on a lot of other brands, LG etc. I salvage broken screens for the wonderful light panels they make, daylight skylight! The trouble is disconnecting the tuner-logic board leaves me to have to put a voltage on (on) and maybe more to get the lights to come on. I have never noticed pulling the 10 pin cable makes my task very easy as I want to ditch any extra power wasting tuner board etc. and have the lights to stay on not time out. I have a dead 4K screen that seems to be OK for power but the button does not respond. I tried 3-5 volts and cannot get the lights to come on. $30 says I'll order the tuner board.
Thanks for your imformative video but i thought the power board only gives the dc outputs when it gets a command from the main board so how did you measure those voltages?
Thank you for this video it really showed me a lot it seems like my TV has the same issue as the one you were fixing but now I'll check it to see if it's my main board or not
Hi again thanks for the video. What should I do with the part that was the broken part. Should I just throw it out or try to sell it for parts or something? Thank you so much
I replaced the main board and it was still broken. But the guy who sold me the part told me to take the wide white cable out of the main board (as this is the cable to the display panel) and see if your TV turns on. My TV was constantly power cycling with a black and blue screen. I removed the white cable, turned the TV on and I heard audio from my TV. Do this step before you buy any new parts. If your tv turns on after removing the cable for the display panel then it’s the panel itself that’s broken, everything else is working. Not too sure if it’s worth replacing the panel though, maybe if you can find a cheap one, but I found it too hard to find.. Might just have to buy a new TV, or buy a 2nd hand one of the exact same model and move your main board to the new TV, so that you retain all the saved data.
So it seems I have the same 2 board set and connector layout as in the vid. My power pins check out (12.8v) to include the 5v on/off power. However I did not get backlight when I disconnected the connector from the main board. So otherwise I would think the main board with that issue but still considering power board. Is that a must to have back light when determining if the power board is good or not?
Didn't really show it, he didn't explain what the signals are doing, that the pulse width signal is for the backlight brightness control, he didn't show how to bench test the psu on its own without being connected to the main and get it output. Iv seen so many of these videos that don't explain hardly anything, I may just start making my own vids
I'm wondering if you have some advice. I have a 70 inch samsung 6 series TV. I'm not super familiar with new tv's (been a decade or so) I know how to replace boards and stuff. I've been trying to trouble shoot this. In this video you show how power goes through and mine does the same and is fine. I also have access to replacements and replaced both the power and main boards just in case. I'm still getting the same thing. Led blinks twice intermittent. in the back I can see the backlight come on full for a second or two, off then back on real fast to dim backlight for a second or so and then off. The flashing and the backlight go through this series over and over.
We bought a Sony XBR 49X900F about 5 years ago, thank God we got the extended Geek Squad warranty, one day the volume went out and then the next day no picture. Geek Squad came out and said the power supply and motherboard were both out, so they accredited us full price, so now we are getting an LG OLED, what bugs me is that TV was rarely used, a TV show or two once in a while. Guess the engineers screwed up and it broke before the warranty expired.
Hi Thank you for your video extremely helpful I’ve got similar problem with my TV Samsung UE55F8000ST. I’m trying to find out which board I’m having a problem with. Is it the power board or the main board so I followed what you have done in video. I plugged it in And disconnected the cable from the power board connected to the main board it should have to trigger the back light to come on but I am getting the back lights come on and off on and off not constantly on so I am confused please help thanks
tried EVERYTHING, removed powerboard, cleaned with white spirit and scourer, cleaned components, dried SAME. tried disconnecting other circuit board DEAD. reconnect SAME. TRIED menu IN THE 10 SECONDS IT WOULD STAY ON. pressed OFF to ANYNET CONNECTION, pressed RESET, pressed ECO MODE to AUTO. still SAME. moved tv and put on stand SAME. ---- HELD DOWN POWER BUTTON on remote for 10 seconds WORKS FINE, NO MORE SWITCHING OFF. dvd player signal CLEAR ON TV and tv programmes WERE NOT RETUNED.
Thanks for the video. Found a Samsung 48 inch 4K smart tv and seems like led goes on and controller in back seems like it's on and has power. Hard to find parts. Any sites besides Ebay u recommend?
Just tested mine using the same approach and the the voltage is fluctuating on the power board same points , not a steady 12.8vdc . Also backlight doesn't turn on when I unplug the mainboard from it. Can I assume that's the power board who needs replacement ?
Help Needed. I have a 65 inch Samsung SMart TV, It started Restarting and then few days later it stopped working totally. Now its not even turning on. No gave it to Service Center and they are saying the Panel of the tv needs to be replaced ! All backlights are fine, Power supply ok, Mother board is also ok. Is it right ? The panel is looking good (means no physical damage ever) Plz help...
My UN60JU7100F wont power on. I have two black cable sets coming out of power board. Removing blk set that goes to mother board from power board does not turn on back lights. Removing blk set that goes to Tcon board does light the back lights. Also removing the two whitish ribbon cables at bottom of Tcon board turns on the back lights. What do you think ? Thanks in advance.
I have a UN55J6201AF & the layout is the same. I tested power across the ribbon between the 2 boards and got similar numbers, but when I unplug the power board from the IO board, the LED array does NOT light up, and I can’t seem to detect any voltages from the pins on that connector. Does this mean the LED’s are burned out ? What do you recommend ?
He's giving out a whole lotta knowledge if you know what you're looking at here. Thanks for the helpful information Mr. Uploader
Where do You get Tha Main board
Top man this guy the best on yourtube...
Thank you. Yeah. The part was cheap and just easier to replace and get it out of here
Would agree, more time than its worth.
Likewise
Just curious if you were able to fix this. I had the same pop and spark on my set. Hoping to be able to chase it down.
fixed changed power supply board was fairly easy tx

My TV got hit by lightening I watched ur video n am impressed I will go through it as u said n get back to u thanks
Man dude I was thinking the same thing
Do main boards work for every tv? Do I need to get a certain one for LG or could it come from any brand of tv
Always buy the same tv’s for every room in the house
Thanks again.
so it wasnt the power supply board?
I will look into that, thanks so much for your reply!
I fixed my TV because of this video. Thank you!
Very helpful my televisions died all of a sudden and its 3yrs old I tried everything to get it to work.
Now I see how easy it is to fix,I guess I'll just take it to a shop and have them fix it.
Hope they dont over charge me!😥
Thanks for sharing.👍😊
Thanks for the commentary on the power board testing. My UN55KS8500FXZA revision AA01 won't turn on and I tested the power and the cable. Going to this stage next. 👍
Thank you. Your videos are extremely helpful, informative and excellently put together. An extremely good service to those learning about tv repair and electronics in general. Atta Boy! Keep up the good work.
txs man...appreciate it
I have the same TV and replaced the power board which solved my problem for a few weeks.
Wat is the outcome of your motherboard replacement,I have the same tv as you replace both boards an still got nuttin
Thanks for the knowledge, wanted to know where is best place to purchase power boards or main board??
Was about to give up on this same TV until I saw your video. Neat little tip about the backlights and checking voltage showed me that a few of my backlights were bad and must be shorted as they are impacting the outputs from the power supply. New backlights on order so I should be back in business when those arrive. Thanks for posting this video!
Thanks a million for your amazing videos, it's been a long time since I last fixed one of these tvs but I remember you doing it before and I just need to say thanks again for such great work 😀 👍
Thank you! Glad they helped!
Good video. Have a 6900 series that a storm took out. On it all the boards are in one. All it has is backlights. I'm waiting on a replacement board to come in the mail and hoping it will fix it. 60bucks will be a lot better than $410 for a replacement.
your were great, just fix my un75ju6500fxza , was watching tv screen went green then black, but I still could hear sound. watching your video, gave me the wii to try, its working mainboard.. thank you
Backlight problem
I was able to repair a 60 inch Samsung TV 2015. You are the best!
Yessa.. same situation, worked great, storm hit.
Nice voice and calm person... I wish I should
I've tried doing the hard reset by unplugging for a full minute. Thanks for posting
how is ur tv now ?
Thanks!
Kinda dissapointed, I was expecting a component level repair...
t0nito just bake the board in question in the over and reflow the solder. 9 out of 10 times it could just be a bad solder joint.
@@joelshack85 That will usually work with LG, however I've never seen it with Samsung. More than likely it has a shorted capacitor on the main board.
berryelectronics yea baking sometimes Is my last resort to try to fix it.
GREAT HELP, Thank you!! Video really stood out for the detail and explanations offered,!!
This was helpful thank you lol sadly i saw that my motherboard was blown so is there any links where i can buy some new ones
I don't have a broken TV, this was just interesting to watch
Thanks, my wife tv will not turn on so now with ur help to look n test I will be able to get her TV going, once again thank u
Thanks for the great troubleshooting walkthrough. Who can source the boards in case one or the other goes out? Thanks!
I've always looked on places like ebay
Thank you I will follow your instructions. I have the same problem with a LG screen 40 inch probably. Just curious what the problem is and if I can fix it. Good challenge
Hi, you have presented an excellent video showing voltages to verify, I dont get backlight at all does that mean Power Board BN44-00667A is bad? I would really appreciate if you could guide.
Thank you for your video. I ordered a kit...replaced mother board, toggle and wifi and I’m up and running again.
Great Job!
Where did you order your parts from?
I didn't realize this was a huge problem. Thanks for the info
You are awesome. Thanks for this video. I have similar problem and I will attend to the TV asap.
Where do you suggest to buy new power boards please. Thanks for the great video.
Great job! one of the best video!
Thanks for the post! Where do I buy , find the board you changed ?
thank you! I will ask my son to do this.i'll let you know how it went
How'd it go?
Samsung 65 inch curve tv went out while watching it..I hope this video helps me this weekend!
I was expected to see real fix.
hehe i have my tv laying out here, with a similar problem, so was gladly following your instructions as a complete electro-novice.
Thnx for this video..may I know what is the name of the board that was replace?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. The $120 main board I just replaced saved me a $1,000 on a new tv...
Where did you order it? Please .
@@mareknosek996 Sorry. its been so long ago I forgot. Just duckduckgo the part number and call everyone that shows that they may have it.It is a very very very hard part to find...
@@deplorabledreg2935 i found it ! Thanks again for your quick response! Have a great day my friend.
@@mareknosek996 AWESOME!!
Should take about a half hour to replace. Your remote that came with the tv will no longer work with your new board.
@@deplorabledreg2935 Is there something i can do for that ?
troubleshooting worked great, How do you identify the board to get a replacement?
There should be a part number on the board.
This was put together very well. Thank you sir.
Loved it basics on finding the problem board and fuse check
I have the same issue. Where can you find the replacement logic boards? Thanks in advance. Great job!
Thank you so much
either way, up to you. Hate to say it but probably easier to just toss it. BTW good job on the repair!
Excellent 👌 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Working trick 💯% working
Thanks for help
I subscribe you
I replaced the main board and it was still broken.
I love how you show trouble shotting the power supply
I enjoyed that, do you use a ground strap ?
nope. Not for this type of repair.
Hi
Thank you for your video extremely helpful I’ve got similar problem with my TV Samsung UE55F8000ST.
Thank You Sir!
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Awesome! So how do I set my multimeter? I’m a newbee
Hi
When I disconnect the mainboard from the power supply, the backlight flashes. What could the problems be? The capacitors look good.
Same issue did you figure out the issue
Same issue here
tried EVERYTHING, removed powerboard, cleaned with white spirit and scourer, cleaned components, dried SAME. tried disconnecting other circuit board DEAD. reconnect SAME.

Where can I buy a replacement board as the one you replaced? I have a Samsung model UN55H6350AFXZC
Ebay
Just tested mine using the same approach and the the voltage is fluctuating on the power board same points , not a steady 12.8vdc . Also backlight doesn't turn on when I unplug the mainboard from it. Can I assume that's the power board who needs replacement ?
Hi there,
Thank you for the video, I did change both boards and still nothing. There’s power but tv doesn’t turn on! Could it be the T-con board?
I may have the same problem as you. I only changed the power board. Main board still thinking about it

Great video, is it possible for the sound board on this type of TV to cause the PSU board to burn out?
You are correct but when you checking voltage steps multimeter probs how to check not visible... Please check up next videos
