Hello! Here some tech I know for the next characters that I think might be cool to show. Pikachu.Double Up B. so with this tech, it makes it possible for you to do the second up b in the same direction as your first one. This tech is one of the reasons why Pikachu Mains switch to box. Kazuya:WaveDash. While some people already know what it is, its a tech where you cancel Kazuya’s crouch dash with a dash that makes it so you can instantly follow up into another crouch dash. Its a great movement option. Roy:Consistent Side B’s. So this makes it so landing the last hit of Side B become more consistent which is to do the up angled version on the third hit because of its less range, to then go back to the regular angled hit on the last hit so they have less room for Di/Sdi. Yoshi:Drag down Bair. I would not have put this in if people actually know the matchup but people don't so Ye, so the second hit of bair has a lot of hitstun so much in fact that doing the dragrown makes it so you get a free punish into F-smash at like 30% Wario:RNG Bike. While this isn't exactly a tech, when you throw it, it is random if the front is gonna be the large wheel or the short wheel, the large wheel hits both lower and farther. then the shorter one. I hope this is useful for the next part!!!
hey thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into these :)) the roy one is great, might be a little TOO relevant though bc it's like, a must use tech for roy players lolol either way these are good ideas
For pikachu, one tech i really wish i learned earlier is going under battlefield and final destination correctly. Its a pretty simple change but if you charge side b and release it so you run into the stage, you can drift directly into the middle, letting you quick attack to the side your opponent isnt on for a gauranteed mix up
For Palutena, you can cut the distance of up b in half by pressing the c stick in the direction you want to teleport right around the same time that Palutena disappears. Note: if you do it right, the up b will ignore the direction of the movement stick and just go in whatever direction you flicked the c-stick in. Something else I like to do is, if an opponent is at higher percent, I'll do a ledge drop nair dragdown into grab at ledge, which can be useful sometimes.
I can name a few Cloud techs. But you might wanna find videos that explain them better than I could. -Auto-Cancel Dair -Limit landing lag cancel -Jab locks led from back throw, bair and nair (not really a tech but we don't see it often) -Ledgeguard Climhazard (at the ledge, hop or jump and use climhazard facing outwards at the peak of the jump. It's a huge spiking hitbox that catches aggressive high recoveries and lets use snap back to ledge)
I’ve been waiting so long since the first video!! Haven’t watched yet but I’m so excited!! Also, for Kazuya, chaining crouch dashes with tilt stick is a cool tech as you have a lot of invincibility, also you can cancel it into demon god fist, shield, EWGF etc. Also, it’s a really good movement option.
Some things for Cloud - Dair autocancels on full hop, up-B instantly snaps to the ledge when you're close enough to it, the back hit of Utilt is suspiciously good at shield-poking slightly damaged shields (to the point where it looks like it just goes through shields), you can do some neat momentum stuff with Limit Charge, and charging Limit when it's almost full can save your stock if you're too far to recover.
Let’s go, episode 2. (The cloud up b deny in the beginning was so raw) My suggestion’s for Chrom for like chapter 9. Recover as low as possible >> Pick a god and pray >> Success
So I play Sheik, and love to play Marth as like kinda secondary mostly for fun tho. Been doing the airdodge of shame rps all the time. For the sheik mains, you can do the same thing with needles.
9:35 "this combo can be true if your opponent has a slower airdodge" decides to show Bayonetta, the only character in the game who has an (effective) *frame 1* air dodge via bat within.
About 13:14 during Mario's f-tilt his collision is probably thinner and hitting a shield makes your opponent's disappear for a brief period, combined with the shield pushback of doing it in the other direction made it cross up
Awesome video! For Sora next video, you could maybe cover ledge slipping with Firaga, platform-tech situations with side-b off-ledge, or maybe even just some of his IDJ stuff!
As a pretty big PT fan and main myself I thought I might mention flamethrower jab/ledge slips! its one of very very few moves that can be followed up with a jab to slip past a ledge (some notable ones like krool and banjo dthrow and villy water can) and while not always super relevant it can make for some tricky movement and set up for an easy aerial past ledge after stopping a recovery with flamethrower. One of my favorite things I've landed is flamethrower to force a low recovery into a jab ledgeslip dair. I also like using it off stage in a silly and pretty unoptimal "fiery wall of death" edge guard where I just jump out with flamethrower aimed at the opponent and then jump into a nair or fair 😭Also super niche tech that I havent seen used but CST or Charizard Super Trump where you armor through someone recovering, land only the initial hit of up b, before grabbing ledge and doing a ledge drop bair or upair (which is a true follow up). Even if you miss your timing you get a easy ledge trump, but I think it could be optimized to be a better option than 2 framing. (If you cant tell Zard is my favorite of the mons)
That Mario cross-up tech may or may not have a consistent trick to it, but Roy absolutely can do it nearly every time. It's matchup dependent but Roy can use sliding turn around ftilt to cross up most full shields. May be a good fit for the next high tiers video.
For mario, for some reason, when you use cape, it makes it easier to snap to the ledge and that's why you'll see top mario players (especially dark wizzy) using double jump cape to get to ledge instead of up b or just a plain jump
Thx for including me, I've gotten into ow2 and went back to college recently, so I haven't been around for when this came out, but I appreciate it nonetheless
Even though you’re only doing top tiers for this series if you ever decide to go lower on the list, for Inkling you should mention the bomb hover glitch
I'm a PT main and the big thing that I learned that people don't use is using flamethrower for conditioning on shield. And the reason why I know this isn't common is i was playing against someone at Smash Con that had a lot of experience with PT. Anyways, flamethrower on shield (especially if you get it up close) and it allows an opening for flare blitz. The most common response to the move is to shield it so the move becomes a huge threat. Don't always flame blitz when you show your hand but just showing your hand once with this really allows you to pressure the opponent a lot. For quick swapping, either up b near ledge with zard or taunt. Both are faster than flamethrower. Tech with squirtle is knowledge. And that sounds dumb but having a gameplan against every character/archtype is really useful. It lets you know the pacing of the match, whether to go for combos or stage control, and (most importantly) when a swap is needed. There's some MUs where razor leaf is a better tool than squirtles kit. But always start on squirtle! He's the most nimble so you can estimate more with just him. For Ivy, tech isn't super groundbreaking but learning to do cancel tether and reverse tether are super important for recovering and for edgeguarding. There's a lot of options and experimenting with them can help a lot.
Sorry to bring the forbidden knowledge, but it is possible to option select a tech+upB against the Lucina hit. Just press up+B+Shield at the same time. If you are sent fast enough to bounce on the wall, you will tech. If not, you will upB. Thats a foolproof way to deal with that kind of stuff without the risk of accidental air dodge.
When you get to Marth (even though he's high tier as well idc what top players say) he's got a fun mix up with nair 1 into down air, it's not true but most people don't expect it and works at most percents, also if you do it at ledge and your opponent doesn't air dodge right they just get spiked into the blast zone
ngl the buster shield break or buffer deactivation (bd) on shulk wouldve been nice too buster shield break works on all but 4 character (5 including lucario for some reason) and its when theyre at ledge and they hit shield, you have to be in buster and you run up turnaround downsmash them without needing to charge, its a true shield break buffer deactivation is when you press b 3 times during an animation to have an art cancel at the end of the animation (must have an art online already) this lets you do stuff like buster nair into bd fsmash which is true or buster dair into bd fsmash which is also true also for ness frame 1 flymags or the multimag infinite would be cool or even ruskiloops (frame 1 djc flymag into pk fire, only works on fastfallers)
Little Mac: ROLL CANCEL GRAB. It's a gamechanging tech, but it's really frame tight (4 frames) so you dont see it often. I think Peanut has it covered, but if you search it theres some other youtuber too to explain it. Same goes for LEDMAKER (heymaker to ledge, it's good guarding). There's also ROLL CANCEL TOSS but tbh no one is going to practice it... right? 👀
Yoooo I’m a marth main and I’ve been doing those sideb’s for like a year now they’re so funny lmao Also for marths episode, he has a No Impact Land he can do if you do short hop nair, drift offstage, and then hug the stage while buffering double jump, it’s niche but I’ve used it here and there for escaping the corner with swinging a tilt or an aggressive shield immediately
For the next one, since youll be covering palutena. There really isnt anything special for her besides teleport canceling. But, you can do a teleport cancel ledge trump or a teleport counter. I call it a slip counter but ik thats the name of little macs counter
remember me and my lame Kirby self when you get (more) popular! when you talk about kirby, please don't just talk about FAir 1 confirms, that's his whole thing rn, instead I'd love for you to talk about a ledgetrap you can do with SideB since it's known for being really bad. When on Ps2, Small Battlefield, or a couple other stages with platforms close to ledge, stand on top of said platform and charge hammer where if you release it it would catch jump getup, then from here you can drop down and drift to either side to catch roll or normal/getupattack respectively. ALSO a lot of people don't know this but charged hammer can hit ledge so it is great if you can condition your opponent

@aann One cool thing chrom really has is the double jump from ledge fair conversion. Its called the "rivers chrombo" on yt. True zero 2 deaths.
i’ll go look into it 😈

Even though you’re only doing top tiers for this series if you ever decide to go lower on the list, for Inkling you should mention the bomb hover glitch
I plan on covering every character! we'll get to inkling eventually B)
For Kazuya, look into jump canceled diagonal tilts. You can jump and cancel into up-forward or up-back tilt, and this works out of shield as well
Counterplay for Lucina's is the option select: Up+B+Shield. This will tech+wall jump if needed, and ub B otherwise.
I'm a PT main and the big thing that I learned that people don't use is using flamethrower for conditioning on shield. And the reason why I know this isn't common is i was playing against someone at Smash Con that had a lot of experience with PT. buster shield break works on all but 4 character (5 including lucario for some reason) and its when theyre at ledge and they hit shield, you have to be in buster and you run up turnaround downsmash them without needing to charge, its a true shield break
buffer deactivation is when you press b 3 times during an animation to have an art cancel at the end of the animation (must have an art online already) this lets you do stuff like buster nair into bd fsmash which is true or buster dair into bd fsmash which is also true
also for ness frame 1 flymags or the multimag infinite would be cool or even ruskiloops (frame 1 djc flymag into pk fire, only works on fastfallers)

Mario have a 0 to death only for Steve, Wario and megaman, Is with foostool dair, for some reason the dair only conect in that 3 PJ
I’d love to see some content on low-tiers just because it would be fun to see how they can fight off some of the high-tiers.
planning on it :)) we move onto the B tier once i finish up A tier and i’ll keep moving down
For Mario
If you side B to ledge you can automatically grab it causing ledge trumps
