I got this silica bag in my audi since new it has been 6 years now, been taking out from the coolant reservoir before but I put back again but I have always check it out sometimes but it’s still solid ! I don’t yet replace or flush the antifreeze system, just each year, took 800ml out, put 800ml fresh G13 😂
I've started pulling these out in work lately. Saves someone a lot of heartache. I was watching an old Vag training video. There's liquid silica within the G13 coolant. The granule pouches are only there in case someone pours water in.

Yes g13 has silica in it but not enough for engines with extensive aluminum. Many run g13 with no bag.

As soon as possible You should flush system and change colant fluid on

No intro 😔 I have done about 4 vags due to clogging up the heater core not hard work at all, but its better to take them out 👍👍
The heater core can still clog without the silica bag bursting. I've replaced matrixes that had g12 no bag. Two separate issues
