    If you guys want to hear two more bands that sound like Led Zeppelin, then you should listen to a band called Detective and their song Grim Reaper. They came out in 1977 and the lead singer is Michael Des Barres who was friends with Led Zeppelin. The lead guitar player is Michael Monarch and was the guitar player for Steppenwolf. The band was even signed to Led Zeppelin's record label Swan Song. The other band who sounds like Led Zeppelin came out in 1988 and was called Kingdom Come. Check out their songs Get It On and Livin Out of Touch. Michael Des Barres also toured as the lead singer for the band Power Station. Robert Palmer was the singer for the band in the studio but was too busy with his own projects to do the tour, so that's why Michael Des Barres did the tour. They played at Live Aid. The guitar player is Andy Taylor, and the bass player is John Taylor who were both members of the band Duran Duran. I'm actually still waiting for somebody to do reactions for Detective and Kingdom Come. I haven't heard anybody do any of these songs yet from them.

    If it had never been done before, if it was unconventional, Zep led the way. Stopping in the middle of the song for a guitar solo, as in only the guitar, back to the band for more soloing and build up to the stop. No one but Zep. After Zep walked the path, a lot of other bands followed, but there was only ONE Led Zeppelin. Epic.

    Led Zeppelin had a lot of sides to them. On this same album they had the naughty Whole Lotta Love, but I want to highlight a tender ballad that Robert Plant wrote to his wife. "Thank You" is a beautiful song with wonderful lyrics. It's my favorite Zep song. Nice 12 string guitar from Page. I bet it would be a reaction for all 3 of you! I hope you check it out, but be careful of a false fade near the end, as the music comes back.

      How is that even possible?? You are a year younger than I am. Im assuming that you are trolling. If you actually are being serious, there was a movie made in 1977 called Star Wars that you might want to check out.

    • @gabrielmcdonnell8699
      @gabrielmcdonnell8699 Рік тому +5

      @@arwiviv How is that possible? Neither of my parents listened to Led Zeppelin let alone this type of rock. My mama liked softer music like Chicago. My pops was all about Earth Wind & Fire (and not their crossover hits). I loved the radio and flipped from station to station so I was exposed to a little bit of everything. I missed Led Zeppelin but I knew of “Stairway To Heaven” when I was 9 or 10 from my white friends. None of my black friends knew of Led Zeppelin. I discovered “Immigrant Song” first when I was 12-13 but that was bc of a Rolling Stone article. I’m not a fan but learned to appreciate LZ when I worked @ a record store from 1988-1994, largely due to the older employees sharing memories and playing albums. ✌🏽 P.S. Haven’t seen any of the “Star Wars” franchise; never got into sci-fi.

    Once again, I am convinced that the real development of the rock industry began precisely in the 60s, namely, if we talk about the direction of music, Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, Jimmy Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Ozzy Osbourne and many others, one of those who did it and inspired, in the 80s everything was already weak, and in the early 90s everything was completely blown away, I’m sure that now we can appreciate it after 50 years.

    I really like your commentary guys. This is just Zep at its most elemental - filthy, gritty, dirty blues with thunderous bass and drums and unexpected twists by Mr. Page. You didn’t note it, but Page’s production on Zep II was a landmark of recording effects, including panning and backwards echo and ingenious use of slide and wah. And Robert Plant’s vocals on Zep II are the best of all time IMHO. Regarding the a capella solo, Page ripped it off in a different studio at spur of the moment as a way of doing something shocking. Page’s balls were HUGE. Steve Vai speaks about this all the time as his greatest inspiration. Page was all about going for it. And both solos sounded better live if you hear the boots (check out Osaka 1971). Finally, on the fire second solo, it demonstrates how great Zep played as an ensemble. The greatest band of all time!

I think it broke his spirit, and in a way, his career. He hasn't been the same since. That doesn't discount the contribution to music history Zep has been a part of, It enhances It... GOATS.

    If I can give ANY advice for reviewing this band, it's always listen to the studio version first, then the live stuff will make more sense. When you take the deep dive into LZ (and everyone does) you'll feel like Alice falling down the rabbit hole. It's an endless labyrinth of discovery. It sounds cheesy, but you'll see what I mean. These guys lived what they played. You should read about Plant and Page's travels to Morocco and India, then listen to "Kashmir" from the Physical Graffiti album. There are two categories of Rock. In one category is every band in the world, except for one. In the other category, you'll find Led Zeppelin. They are the Godfathers of Heavy Metal, and IMHO, the overlords of modern rock and roll.

    I like a lot of rock bands but if I was forced to pick a favorite it would probably be Zeppelin. But as much as I love them, I'm not really a fan of Stairway to Heaven though. Except when it's coming from Ann Wilson. That version I really like. These two songs are great - I like them both. Physical Graffiti is just killer. Kashmir, Houses of the Holy, The Rain Song and, especially Ten Years Gone are 4 of my favorite Zeppelin songs and I'd really enjoy hearing a reaction to any of those. Thanks for giving us some great music tonight.

    This came out a few years before Pong. So maybe we know where video games drew inspiration from. Long live Zep.

    If you guys really want to blow your minds you should listen to a cover version called "Heartbreaker (At the End of Lonely Street)" by a band called Dread Zeppelin. They had a 300-pound Elvis Presley impersonator as their vocalist, and in the beginning they only did Led Zeppelin songs, but in a reggae-style. So it was like hearing Elvis sing Led Zeppelin in a reggae-style! They merged Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker" with Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel." Trippy!

    I hope the guys don’t get a copyright strike from trying to react to this. I think I’ve heard that they are notorious for blocking their videos. I haven’t seen too many reactions from all the UA-cam reactors listening to Zep songs.

      The channel Air Play Beats and many others do Zeppelin all the time. I think it may depend on how big your channel is or it may be completely random. I know Don Henley, and it is Henley himself, will go after anybody and I know several channels that were deleted due to a Hotel California reaction.

    Nevermind boys, I've seen this all live at my old University, Southampton England, in January 1973 - the boys played for 3 hours.

    Nothing like pulling in the school parking lot to pick up the grandkids with anything from Zep blasting on the stereo the looks this 56 yr old Grandfather gets are priceless. This why they are one the best bands of all time Jimmy Page is now 79 and Robert Plant is about to turn 75 on the 20th of August. I swear Jimmy sold his soul to the devil to be able to be this good. We all have air guitared that solo at the end of Heartbreaker anyone they says they haven't are liars.
