After listening to Led Zeppelin’s catalogue and other influential bands of the 70s, you start questioning what happened to music in the decades that followed.
All by design to lower our minds ... the culture creators realised they were going to lose control of the human race allowing it to continue that's why they brought in punk (puke) and disco (heave)
@@VG-iq8xq agreed...the seventies was a peak for music across many genres. Great music was everywhere, we were inundated with it. Now you to go looking for it.
@OFFICIAL CHANNEL I assume you're not wrong. In other words, I'd be more than willing to bet most every individual on the planet who has an all-time favorite holds the belief that their #1 is the greatest. It's our human nature, and it's most common. 🙂
All band members understood the importance of no sound to punctuate the music. Really powerful in this song but really skillfully used in a lot of their songs
Robert Plant in this time is singing whth Allison Craus ( very beautiful singer, blues grass singer) He had two albums with her, and before with Patti Griffin ( country folck?) After Zeppelin he was in a Honey Drippers ( like a rockabilly) Was in solitaire a lot of years, some beautifuls songs, but he don't regreat to sing like in Zeppelin. Is good to. Always Robert Plant is good
Saw them live in Munich Germany three months before Bonham died. There biggest hit was Stairway to Heaven. But if you want to see their versatility, try D’yer Maker.
These stops during the riffs for the singer, it's pure Blues. Led has a lot of Blues influence. Jimmy brought this from the Yardbirds and he along with Bonzo were experts in mixing the Blues with a heavier grip.
Have always loved led zep,oh my the amount of parties I went to in the 70s listening to these. Memories I dare not mention. Love your reactions & all youngsters .Great music
In 1975 when Physical Graffiti (personal all-time favorite album by anyone) was released, that one as well as their previous 5 albums were ranked on the Billboard Top 20 list at the same time..
Anyone who doesn't like Led Zeppelin has no soul...Robert Plant has an extensive solo career and yes he still goes on tour singing both Led Zeppelin and his own solo songs.
Thank you listening and sharing your reaction video! I am so familiar with this album as it was a big part of my growing up. I look forward now to hearing “Rock & Roll” … which is the song on the album that follows “Black Dog”. Also just learned about the black dog that wandered the studio! Thank you for that! Rock on!
My first concert, 1977, Chicago stadium. A night well remembered. Jimmy Page playing a double neck with a bow during Dazed and Confused is a memory etched in my mind. I also focused on John Bonham who was beating the hell out of his drums. A night surely remembered and grateful I was able to see them. Unfortunately wasn't able to see them again. They had a s date set to play in Chicago and the only way to get tickets was through a local newspaper. You send a entry form and if your name was pulled you could get 4 tickets. I remember I was walking out the door to buy newspaper and send the form in when my phone rang. It was my buddy. I remember saying dude I gotta go . Bonham died he said. That was it. Zeppelin was done. I know a guy who had tickets sent to him for that concert. He kept them and has them in a frame.
Another song that played on our high school juke box everyday. Jimmy Page is (at least)one of the top 3 guitarists of all time. What he did in the 70's was way ahead of it's time...
Good reaction guys. Saw Led Zepplin twice in concert back in the 70,s. Think I was 18 & 19. There is nothing close to a Led Zepplin live show. No elaborate stage, no dancers, and no autotune .... lights come on, with just the band and their instruments. Performing hit after hit. Rock at its best. New sub here.
No no no...you guys got so much to learn, all musicians are playing at different time signatures ... this and every song is masterly produced! Best band ever man!
Black Dog is some Zeppelin fans' favourite song ... period. I'm from the Toronto area and a number of years back the popular Toronto FM station Q107 held its annual Top 1007 songs of all time and in one of those years Black Dog was named the best song EVER. It is a complete amazing rocker all the way through. I think it's the best example of Plant's singing, Page's riffing and Bonham's playing. I've never thought of Bonzo's drumming being crisp more like elegantly brutal. Perhaps Page's most iconic guitar sounds/effects out of dozens - and that would be saying something.
RP is still making music... he doesn't like to do too many of the old songs often. His new band is The Sensational Space Shifters but he had just brought out another album with Alison Kraus. He's a regular at our local pub as he lives close by.... amazing stories he tells, believe me. You should check out 'Kashmir' from their O2 show in London in '07. All in their 60s and still totally kill it. Wow! Fun fact.. so many people wanted a ticket to this reunion that they had to hold a lottery for the 16,000 tickets available... 20 million plus people applied, including me!
Watch Zeppelin when you can live....their live performances were legendary ...often three hours long with many songs extended into 20 minutes or more of sheer breathtaking improvisation. Never played a song in exactly the same way twice Their charisma and connection on stage is also legendary and that’s what you should look for. I don’t know if you ever repeat a song on your channel but Black Dog live from 1973 Madison Square Garden is great. Anything from that MSG 1973 show is iconic I would suggest Whole Lotta Love. Most people will suggest Stairway to Heaven but I don’t think that’s your guys vibe if you three line blues, then Since I’ve Been Loving You MSG 1973 is also iconic with fantastic solo from Jimmy and a charismatic performance from Plant. Hope you enjoy delving deeper into this GOAT band.
My favorite song by Led Zepplin is Kasmir "The Live at Celebration Day Concert" is the best version of it. It was performed by Zepplin 30yrs later in their 60's & they will still blow your mind how great they sound & John's son Jason Bonham on the drums is truly inspiring. I hope you see that version of Kashmir before any of the others. Actually the whole Celebration Concert is a must see for sure! You guys ROCK! PS loved watching you enjoy TRIUMPH'S songs too. You Definitely know GREAT Music when you hear it.
This Led Zep song still blows me away after listening to it, on a off for 40 years now!! "Led Zeppelin IV," from, which this song is off. Is a great album, too!!
Led Zeppelin is still touring in Europe with a new members of the band.....still sounds the same in the 60's and 70's.....Very very good!!! Robert Plant voice is sounding better than he had in the 60's. It's richer. Kashmir one of their famous songs is performed Live in 2007. It's on You Tube.....react to it!!!! Let's see what you think.
If they'd only made their first album they still would've been highly regarded but when LZ4 came out it just cemented their legendary musical genius. 12 men walked on the moon, but there were only 4 dudes in Led Zeppelin. the Mighty Zep. Never to be equaled.
Guys, really enjoy your reactions. A bit of a side note concerning Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog involves the time signature of the track. During the guitar riff, the band in playing in 9/8 time while John Bonham is keeping the beat in standard 4/4 time. It is not easy to play in one beat and listen to others playing in another - amazing!
At some point you need to do something live. Cause live they take it to a whole nother level. I am partial to just about any song from the 1973 concert from Madison Square Garden. The Song Remains the same. Page engineered most of the songs and he was known for doing all sorts of things to the songs in the studio.
Dig in, boys. Rock was dead by the time they burst onto the scene. Pop, Disco. Nothing until the 70s, which they dominated. After Bonham died, it was over. He's always in the top 10, usually #1. The most unusual time signatures, and heavy sticks. An eargasm. Blues, funk, Soul, bluegrass and rock. Never be another.
Robert Plant has had a 40 year solo career...hugely successful in the 80’s. He has always surrounded himself with top musicians throughout his career He is a songwriter of course, so he has his own catalogue as well as Zeppelin songs. Throughout his career, he has changed his band many times, always going for new sounds and fresh creativity He and Page reunited for several hugely successful tours 1994-1999 or so where they reimagined allot of Zeppelin songs with an Egyptian orchestra ....Page and Planr especially were influenced by the music of Morocco and North Africa Plant has had 11 solo albums and several collaborative albums ...one with Alison Krauss which won five Grammies in 2008 I believe. Plants last album came out in 2017. He is doing several concerts in England in June at various festivals with his current lineup called Saving Grace
The entire album is phenomenal, Definitely check it out. You should also check out: Over The Hills and Far Away, The Lemon Song, No Quarter, Since I've Been Loving You, Dancing Days. All stellar Zeppelin tunes.
Bonzo is playing an acrylic Ludwig drum set. On the Kennedy Center Honors honoring Led Zeppelin, Bonzo's son Jason plays that kit as part of the band headed by Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart playing "Stairway to Heaven". It is epic! Here is the clip if you would like to see it: ua-cam.com/video/LFxOaDeJmXk/v-deo.html
You're missing their best songs Kashmir and The Rain Song and that's not even counting Stairway to Heaven! Jimmy Paige was probably best guitarist ever!
I've had the "ah, ah, ah, ah" part as a ringtone/alarm on my cell phone for years, almost makes me wish I was born in the 90's-2000's so I could say I had it on my phone since I was a child, but I still prefer being born in the early 60's just because of the music.
More Zeppelin please. Check out some videos from their 1973 concert at MSG. Amazing concert. Stairway, Whole Lotta Love, Dazed and Confused(29 minutes) Since I've been loving you, Rock and Roll, No Quarter, Black Dog.
The voice call and the guitar response is actually a variation of the old call & response of soul music developed in black churches long ago. Impressive to hear how LZ adapted that on this song.
Yes , Robert really hasn't stopped. He's done many different bands, solo work and just finished an album with Alison Krause. They will be touring in Europe.

A lot will argue that this is their best song but with Led Zeppelin you can argue that 90% of their library can be their best song.
No way, not in close to their best!
Kashmir is their best.
The great ones are like that.....
Rock and Roll is the best
"When the Levee Breaks" is the best, no wait, "You Shook Me" is, no, "Since I've Been Loving You" no wait, "The Lemon Song", no wait...

There's still plenty of amazing music.. it's just no longer mainstream.
Plenty of dreck but plenty of amazing music too. Check out Tool if you’re a heavy rock/ metal fan. I’m a 74 year old Zephead.....love Tool. And grunge
Well there's a lot of great music after Zeppelin but the 70's is unquestionably The Renaissance of Rock. (especially the first half)
@@VG-iq8xq agreed...the seventies was a peak for music across many genres. Great music was everywhere, we were inundated with it. Now you to go looking for it.

IMMIGRANT SONG and for a good taste of Bonham...WHOLE LOTTA LOVE
Bonham is inhuman on achilles last stand andin my time of dying
@@Scoobydcs Really, they are ALL good, it's too hard to pick one or two.
It's pretty cool seeing people from this era appreciating the music from my era. Zeppelin was always #1
This tone is just pure nastiness, Pages captures the feel of the primal essence being expressed through his playing.

The timing! Agh,how does it work? It does, don't know how, genius.
Greatest band that ever did it. No one comes close
This song played on the jukebox 30 times a night in the local bar we hung out in our youth! Lol so good but need to be played really loud! 😆
Juke box in my high school cafeteria, played a lot.

Yes. Robert plant and the sensational spaceshifters. Saw them two years ago. They still make original music, but also okay Led Zeppelin songs as well
Please check out Led Zepplin, Hey Hey What can i Do.... Note only came out on a 45 rpm B side. was never on a lp. a classic

Introducing your friends to greatest damn band that’s ever grace this earth, you’re doing God’s work my friend. Well done.
Best band ever - in the words of Jack Black 🙏🏼
Zepathon!!!!
MORE LED ZEPPELIN!!!!!
imo their best album
In My Time of Dying
LIVE!
Subbed for more zeppelin reactions....definitely need to do some live. Their reputation was built on their live performances...
Yes , Robert really hasn't stopped. He's done many different bands, solo work and just finished an album with Alison Krause. They will be touring in Europe.
Ty, Robert definitely does not do his LZ songs on tour with a cover band. That's the opposite of who Robert is as a person.
