- We spend the entire day railfanning this Pennsylvania tourist line from end to end capturing the half-hourly Santa Claus Specials. These are 3 separate trains operating with steam and classic diesel power. We hear the steam whistle and diesel Leslie S3L horns reverberate through the scenic countryside. There is also a PNE painted GP9RM with gorgeous K horn that was briefly substituting for the GP30 #2198. This is a great and scenic tourist line that serves the tourist mecca of New Hope, Pennsylvania.

New Hope & Lambertville.....both really cute little towns.
Took my grand kids on this railroad a couple of years ago. #40 was not running back then. I was on the New Hope’s mailing list. They offered a “special” Railfan trip on one of their trains that continued down to Septa territory and not sure how far they went. That would have been a nice trip to take. Great video. Hope you have great holidays!
Nice Engines you caught there👍🙂
At 6:30, that used to be a spring switch. I'm not sure if it still is. I worked at the mule barge ride next to the railroad (closed 2006) from 1989-1997.
It still is, as you can see about the 17:00 mark
Great video. My late wife’s grandfather spent most of his working days in the brass casting shop at Baldwin. I’d like to think he may have cast that bell. Thanks for all your great videos
Thanks for sharing an amazing day with us Tim!
Been on that train a dozen times. Even across the river at BR&W in New Jersey I rode in the ALCO switcher several times with my father's friend from work. I sure wish that I could be an engineer for SEPTA or Amtrak.
Great video Ironicly, I discovered the NH&I while coming from Northlandz (made a wrong turn). Hoping to visit both soon
Thanks for sharing this tourist railroad with us. Great video. Beautiful day. Thanks Tim😀💚
Great video. I used to date a girl in New Hope in the late 80's, we used to ride the train there and the doodlebug across the river in Lambertville.
Thanks for sharing. Nice pics of the equipment and some of the cars decorated inside. New Hope station was beautifully decorated. Great job on this railfanning video.
I switched areas with you today. I took my youngest son to Long Island today and he was given a cab tour from a buddy of mine who works for the Long Island railroad. Along with a nice ride out to Babylon and hang out with some cousins.
Glad to see the New Hope and Ivyland represented.
What a treat and they are still allowed to burn coal on the Steam Engine. To bad steam was outlawed on the LIRR.
Wow this is awesome wish septa went there
great video. love the Christmas feel to it.
Christmas season isn’t complete without Pennsylvania.
Wonderful video, NH&I is a class act. Check out the Valley Railroad in Essex, CT. 3 steamers running side by side this Christmas.
Awesome
Definitely making a point to go here. Surprised I haven't gone there yet. You thinking of checking out the West Chester Railroad as well at some point? Running on a section of the former PRR West Chester line between West Chester and Glen Mills before it becomes SEPTA's Media/Wawa line. Got some really nice old ALCO diesels and a couple of GPs, and running old Reading blueliner cars.
Should've gotten the steam train return before ending this AWSOME VIDIO
I had an appointment elsewhere later
What happened to the locomotive cab rides that the NH&I used to do like it used to cost about 40 dollars? I only went on a diesel and it was one of the best times I had in my life! Can you please confirm it? Thanks!
Nice
The Black River and Western is about 10 miles North.
Do they still use #60?
I heard it’s in the shop for its inspection
Has the trackage between Lahaska and Warminster been abandoned?
Still used for freight
how much are the tickets?
