Other mmos may be superior in many other relevant ways, like beter pvp, better graphics, bigger communities, or much more spot light, but Guild Wars 2 is the only game that respects my interaction with it, even if it is a quick 5 min log in for the dailies, or hours upon hours of fun gameplay. And the fact that you can have premium currency with ingame gold it makes it so so so much worth it, especiallly bcs the premium items are centered around utility, not the pay to win classic avennue. You get utility for your account, utility that provides you with better ways of enjoying the time you spend with the game. It is my retirement mmo 🥂
Played the two. Stuck with GW2 by a mile. Best community in MMOs, actually respects player's time. Combat and exploration is way better. GW2 is a game that you can go full on tryhard and grind your *ss off or just take your time and play casually. You will never feel forced to play to still relevant. Once you get your gear, you are set. Just try it out. Core game is free!
@@Avo7977no gear diff. But you can go all out on improving skill. For example, best player does 100% dps, a top player will do 90%, a common good player does 80%, an average player will do 60-70%. The skill progression can take time and be really rewarding.
I'll give it to you for GW2 for exploration, respecting players time and more positive community but the combat is garbage compared to wow. It's not responsive, the character movement is janky, the CC effects have inconsistent hitbox ranges and the lack of a proper GCD make for some frustrating interactions. WoW combat is the best of any MMO and it's not close, especially for pvp. Hyper responsive, quick directional changes, off GCD abilities and even hitbox detection.
@@prestiplex WTF does a shit Amazon survival game that barely meets being an MMORPG have to do with this? There is nothing fresh about WoWs questing. GW2 was designed to not need that outdated quest design. The events are the quests and all you have to do is be in the area and you can take part in it with anyone else in the area without even needing to group. There is nothing fresher than going to a 30-40 man meta event without having to wait to gather people. You just get to the area and DO IT and there is no fucking dragon point elitist cunty guilds to have to deal with. Scammy dickheads need not play because they cant scam anyone in the game and there is no need to do the same shit raid dungeon 1000x to try to get that fat loot for the extra 0.08% to shut those elitist cunts up and get them off your back.
I played wow since I was 7 years old and it was one of my favourite games. For years my friend suggested I play gw2 and I kept saying no but one day I gave it a shot and I loved it. At the time, wow had started becoming really confusing and complex, I missed so much because of school or stuff and I missed out constantly. It’s been 2 years since I dropped wow forever and I won’t ever go back. Gw2 just has a much more fun levelling process and no matter how long a break I take, I never feel like I missed out. The world feels way better and more immersive. Combat also feels way faster and slicker for me
Ive played and loved WoW. But in this day and age just pick GW2. It respects your time more with, has a better f2p model and no subscription fee. Better combat system and more interesting class and build crafting. Maybe Blizzcon will change things up, thats around the corner. But who knows
Why do people keep saying GW2 has a better combat system when that's not even remotely true? WoW is more responsive in every way, better hitboxes, much larger spell ability selection, bigger emphasis on positional requirements, etc. It's especially evident in pvp, wow emphasizes precision, counterplaying based on cds and positional awareness. GW2 pvp is way more about spamming abilities, knockdowns and abusing self heal mechanics, especially in smaller vs scenarios. GW2 wins in a lot of the MMO categories but combat is not one of them.
After playing wow for 15 years my bigest regret is why i never tried gw2 at past. Im playing gw2 now for 2 mounth and i am sure i never touch wow again. The big factor is time respect by gw2
Definitely GW2.. it’s like a hidden gem of mmo. Meta events happen dynamically, the world explorations, the community, World bosses, WvW and gosh the Mount is GOAT compare to any mmo I played and surprisingly blizzard is copying 😂. What I also like no matter how long you’ve gone from the game your gear and everything is still relevant and best of all not a pay to win or subscription bullshit. Highly recommend this game
I played wow for 12 years and let me tell you gw2 is much better playing for 2 years now and the systems gw2 have in pvp, wvw, pve is 10/10 my only problems is with the game is lack of pvp player base and no new raids only strikes. And the core world not up to date but its still fun to explore.
People still play World of Warcraft? why? I played WoW from 2006-2019. I played FFXIV from 2013-2023. I played GW2 2012-2014 and just went back 4 months ago, glad I did the game is amazing. WoW does NOT have "lore," more like poorly written story and 99% of the players have no clue what it is or even read a quest. GW2 story you play is 100% lore and very in depth with FFXIV have a slightly better edge on the lore story. However GW2 story makes sense, it is in order and no surprise races or "well the hell did that come from" jumps as in WoW.
Tried playing the latest expansion in a wow, and it felt so stale and routine. Quest quest quest, boring character mechanics. Gave guild wars 2 a shot and holy crap. The difference is night and day. Incredibly dynamic class design, world gameplay, crafting etc. experience given is a percent of your level. So no matter which zone and quests you do you get the same percentage of XP. So at level 70 you can play in a lower level zone and it doesn't matter. You still progress at a good rate. With world of Warcraft I felt like well. I always have to quest to get better gear so that I can do mythics and then raid the end. Guild wars 2 gives you a huge variety of things to do with fun combat and you don't feel like you're chasing a carrot all the time.
Im late to this but i think you should mention that all the maps in gw2 are active there are meta events that happen in old maps/ new maps/ and starter zone maps so players are always active in every map. Its really easy to find a large group of players running to meta events even when you first start out. Example the human starting zone has a world boss in it called the Shadow Behemoth which takes a group of players to take down and it has some simple mechanics you need to follow to beat it.
class comparison if you wanted to try GW2 from wow. Light Armor: Mesmer= Arcane mage/rogue/shadow priest Elementalist= Fire and Frost Mage/Shaman Necromancer= Warlock/Unholy DK Medium Armor: Engineer= Hunter(traps and tools aspects) /enhancement shaman Thief= Rogue/shadow priest/Monk/MM hunter Ranger= Druid/Hunter Heavy Armor: Revenant= Death knight/Demon Hunter Guardian= Paladin/Priest/Windwalker Monk Warrior= Warrior
I think as we get busier the time respect from GW2 is one of the most important things an mmo can offer. I go back to New World and I have to revert back to grinding the same things for weeks i was doing last time just to be revelant in the same content i was already doing lol..
I started GW2 a while ago and i know i’m never going back to wow. The horizontal progression and the monetization approch is simply better, and the gameplay is more interesting (combat, pvp, mounts, class system, etc.)
Used to play WoW when it first came out, long before any expansions. Gave it up after a few months both because of the subscription and because they pissed all over their own lore with fundamental aspects of the game. I still miss some of the RP I had there (used to run with PvP on at all times but it was an RP server). Played GW, then GW2 since they came out, and quite honestly the game has ruined me for any other MMO I've tried. Haven't done any RP there though, no time anymore. Still, some of my fondest memories are from there, especially capturing that last POI in WvWvW back when it still mattered for map completion.
Played wow since Early BC late Vanilla, dropped off during BFA. Went to gw2. I miss Azeroth but Ive met so many more friends and regular groups running through tyria.
Got into guild wars 2 finally. It's been weird having to break old habits that inhibit my fun. It's the most fun online game right now. It feels almost taboo to work one one thing then ping pong to another goal when I get bored of grinding out the former. Like, I had the goal to unlock my skyscale and I took multiple breaks by focusing on my fractal level or doing story content. At no point did I ever "fall behind" or felt like I was wasting my time by doing something else. I'm never pressured to play since there is no sub fee and for once I actually feel kinda good about buying from the cash shop. I usually abhor them but with how guild wars 2's DNA being so fundamentally different, it's like a completely new experience doing the same motions. Playing guild wars 2 like other MMOs literally ruins all fun and completely misses the point of the game.
If you want to play more of the same antiquated MMO concepts stick to WoW or FF. If you're tired of it then try GW2. Your mindset is the biggest hurdle to your own personal enjoyment.
WoW's community is super toxic. I kid you not, once, a brand new player in my dungeon was voted out of the group because he wasn't dealing enough damage... even though we were clearing everything super fast. He wasn't even doing anything wrong, just a new troll hunter in poor gear. He wasn't pulling anything he shouldn't, just low damage and at least 3 of the 5 people in the group thought they needed someone else for the Atal Dazar run. One of the final straws that convinced me to quit the game. That isn't a standalone occurrence. The community has been conditioned to optimize everything, and if you are too slow or poorly geared, they will abandon you at the drop of a hat. All WoW cares about is go go go go go go go go go go go!!!! The story is garbage, all the gear becomes obsolete each expansion, and the game is filled with grindy BS solely there to waste your time so you keep paying for that juicy subscription. Not to mention the company wants to milk you of everything you've got because the CEO is a greedy scum bag who hates video games and only sees the players as dollar signs.
In GW2 you create your character and start at the very beginning of the story. In WoW you have to play three RTS games before start the MMORPG and will be thrown at three expansions after the actual beginning of the story. So in the metter of storytelling, GW2 is way better.
I’ve played wow from its very early insider only days to dragon flight. I’ve played Final Fantasy 14, spent two years engrossed in NewWorld which became a waste sadly. EQ, UO, Asherons Call 1&2, BDO, ESO. All of these games have their own unique styles. They all have similar things, but Guild Wars 2 gets a lot of things right. They respect players time. The world feels alive and there are events going on both small and large scale. Your gear stays relevant. No stupid borrowed power like wow. No level squishes. Fun PVP modes. Guild Halls that can be customized in some wild ways. Patents! This mmo can be put down and picked up. Most meta events happen several times a day. Busy people also can find time too advance. Chase items and completionists dream. I have tried to get back into wow and it’s just not hitting the same. Endgame is pretty much raids and mythic plus and a real classy player base who gate keeps and wants everyone to be top parse etc. its no longer fun. I felt sad when metzen talked about landing the ship before we’re old. I’ll be there but it’s LFR me for the story and that’s it. Even metzen does not see how the players aren’t the same. It’s never going to be wow 1.0 again.
My issue with WoW is as I level up less content becomes viable and my options for where and what to play shrink. In GW2 as I level up my options expand until I hit max level where the whole game is open to me and viable.
My friend was #1 in WOW battlegrounds he tried to get me into it for years and I’m finally getting into it this year and feel like I’ve been missing out on so much, I’m more of a pve player tho I like the dungeons
Everyone have a different taste some people like bananas some people like strawberries some like both. For me i like GW2 more because i like the environment and the Explorations and mounts makes it 100 times better and I like how the things i achieve are unlocked for my entire account ( for all my characters and the new characters) so i dont have to repeat lot of things. Also the fact that i dont get to play every day and only in my days off make playing a free to play game that is not pay to win so rewarding because everything i do again is saved for my entire account which is totally worth it and not soul consuming in a maw lol HOWEVER i have to admit that world of warcraft has a way better story line even though the writers ruined it at shodowlands chapter still better than gw2 story in my opinion
Wow is great at keeping it's playerbase, but sucks at getting new players, gw2 is amazing for new players, but has a difficult time keeping players post endgame, and i say this as a gw2 fanboy
Problem is most good looking Stuff in Gw2 is locked behing Gemstore or Trading Post. Its not like In WoW where you can run old Raids to get nice looking gear. You have to buy skins by converting Gold to Gems in a rotational Gemstore. Also you need to buy Character Slots and shit.
Thank you for pointing that out I played it 10years ago or so and what I vividly remember is you gotta use gems for Bank slots too. Really turned me off of this game
You really prefer to grind the same raid over and over again thousands of times killing each boss in one hit without any kind of challenge or fun involved in the process to try to get a cosmetic instead of just getting gold by playing the game regularly and with that gold directly buy what you want?
@@sorigamarell1241 name me one method that a beginner can do to make Gold. In Final Fantasy 14 i was able to make millions of gil the moment i reached like level 20. In Wow you can do t easily with jobs. In gw2 i did drizzle wood and got nearly nothing
@@sorigamarell1241 also gw2 has a weekly rotating Shop. Sometimes the items you want are not in it. Meanwhile in Wow i can run a few raids in a few hours and collect many cool armor pieces.
@@2yt4u.14. I don't really know any farming method in gw2, I've been playing for 2 years and throughout that time I have managed to buy with gold an approximate total of 8000 gems simply by playing the game normally without grinding anything in particular. In my experience I can tell you that if you simply keep playing regularly, the gold ends up reaching your pocket by itself.
Just the fact that the entire base game( which is hundreds of hours worth of story, raids, dungeons, open world challenges etc) is *free* is alredy a net positive.
Played GW2 for quite a while, still do not really like any of the classes. Love the exploration, questing, events and especially the mounts. Just can't find a main class, none of them really stand out as fun. Going to try out WoW again and see if I will stick with it. Otherwise, maybe I'm just not into MMORPG's anymore.
It's very simple. If you want casual game go gw2, if you want more endgame focused go with wow. Their very different games aimed at people with different goals.
@itsmegiancarlo Yep, both games are good. they just have different focuses. Each game has its own strengths and weaknesses. I personally like both. I play wow for the difficult endgame, but when I want to relax and just have fun, then I get gw2 going.
I've played a ton of WoW and only recently really started getting into GW2, they are vastly different games. For exploration, adventuring, mounts and more welcoming community I'd go with guild wars 2, feels WAY more casual friendly and people are very helpful and you never feel pressured to get things done. That being said, the combat is terrible compared to wow in terms of mechanic synergy, active spell selection, roles and responsiveness. The characters in GW2 move in a very slide like janky fashion and I'm not sure why the GW2 fanatics refuse to accept this. Play wow and play a mage with pin point blinks, counterspells, 6 different CCs, etc all of which are hyper responsive (instant and precise) and then go play an elementalist in GW2. It's like comparing a modern CoD character to one from N64 Golden eye, even classic wow is league better in terms of positioning and responsiveness. TL:DR - GW2 - Mounts, casual friendly, tons of solo activities, more cohesive RP storyline and fun jumping puzzles/explorations WoW - Raiding, combat, PvP, game mechanic precision and atmospheric immersion
I believe you forgot the Endgame World vs World where a server fights against 2 other servers. Massive battles. Have not seen it in any other game yet.
On top of that GW2 is not even comparable with WOW, the fact that gw2 doesn't need subscriptions and wow needed, I believe WOW can be compared to FFX1X DUE to it's monthly ttrash subscription just to play lol and definitely not GW2
In WoW you can NOT pick what expansion to level in with your first character. This made me quit, because i hated the aztec themed troll temple zone. 35 levels and i was in the same stupid zone. It got boring quick. I also noticed the same 5 dungeons kept popping up in the dungeon finder, why? WoW has hundreds of dungeons and you give me the same 5 over and over.
Gonna get to the point on this one. GW2 has some unique ideas in place that I found enjoyable *weapon types effecting spells* But this game does have one big problem for me personally and that is the graphics/bloom. Specifically, if there was a bloom toggle, I think this game would look way better, but since that is part of GW2's style. The game is sometimes unbearable with how much lighting abuse they have going on via armor/landscapes. *dirt should not glow* Another rough patch is that if you are playing on a trial, mounts are not a right in GW2, making the experience traveling...Less then good. *Seriously, there should not be a timer on trials for how long you can use a mount for, it's 100% FOMO* All in all, while endgame -can- be good, my first impressions of it--And a specific dragon fight involving a ship/cannons left a terrible taste in my mouth.
there is a graphic option to turn off post processing. also you can turn ally skill animation off (I turn it off on everyone but you can also set to show party or squad if you want to, tho keep in mind if ur doing a 50man squad for meta, it'd be like you didn't turn anything off at all 😂) for big metas it's gonna get bright still but i stopped getting skull lag after I turned other ppl's skill animation off
I had bloom issue in first few years. After i changed my monitor n gpu....i decided to seriously fix it. So i took alot of time to adjust all options from contrast brightness vibrancy etc both in nvidia n monitor, now my game looks really good, right amount of glareness, color, ambience, shine, darkness etc
Problem is that it turns of everything else included in the post processing. No underwater effects, no drunken effects, no heat haze etc...@@israelquiles9127
as someone that played both i can say GW2 is superior , and the company isn't run by the evil corporation ether . however both games even though looking similar arent the same - nearly at all . there are classes in both games that arent in the other game - lets be real - if u enjoy said class u gonna play the game reaper - guardian - mesmer = are all very unique and there is nothing like that in wow shaman - dh = are unique for wow gw2 = much friendlier community , people will often go out of their way to help u complete something ... true account wide achievements wow = 20 years worth of content - new classic era started 2weeks ago - you can experience game once again from the begging . if u're a fan of slower game - wow maybe more appealing to you , while if u like faster paced game gw2 maybe better choice story fans - while warcraft starts very strong and gw2 very weak (in story telling) some time around 2nd expansion those are reversed and gw2 story (and story telling) becomes better then warcrafts . all in all if u wanna play mmo i would suggest starting with GW2 since base game is 100% free . you can level a lot of characters and have deep understanding of the game before u will need to spend 1$ . if you cant find anything u like in ether of the two and are a fan of games like oblivion and skyrim ESO maybe for you - ESO just like GW2 becomes better and better with every expansion ... while wow is (its just not getting better ... they add more stuff sure but ...)
You don't really get stronger since the enemies of the following updates will also increase their numbers to be equal to you, so you are really stuck eternally at the same point having the same power as the enemies of the moment, it even has the disadvantage that with numbers constantly increasing, past enemies no longer offer a challenge and are therefore unenjoyable content. It makes no sense that any random bear from the initial area of dragonflight is more powerful than Arthas himself.
Gw2 the game where every class is a dps, clump together for boons.warrior has less hp than a reaper with light armor a whole mess 😂😂.crafting is good though
why would that bother you? i personally like not switching characters everytime i want to play healer, dps, or support/dps. in gw2, a profession can be all 3 just by swapping build templates with a button. its kinda confusing to keep the immersion in when im not always a necromancer.
Played WoW for years, after my account got hacked and banned, I left it. I was searching for a new MMO for ages, tried them all: Rift, Arc, Neverwinter etc… None of them really captured my attention until a friend introduced me to GW2. It took me a while to understand it as a new player because the mechanics are so different to other MMOs, but once I got to grips with it, I was hooked. The classes, the world building, the PvE content, the mount system - even the STORY (omg the story…) So good… I love guild wars 2 ❤
Why should I pay unnecessary Money for something where WoW is 11 years behind? All features since Shadowland is copied from WoW. After the Announcement of the 3 expansions, WoW is where GW2 is today! What a Question!! Little Money and in front of WoW or pay a lot of Money and live Years behind the Moon!
WoW goes GW2! Blizzard has been copying GW2 since its release! Why should you play WoW when all the features have existed in GW2 for Years! Without GW2 there would be no Dragonflight or Future Expansions! Sad but True!
@@Erix2k Both look old, go into any zone that isn't EoD or higher in GW2 and they look old. The new zones in wow haven't looked old in quite awhile and they've updated many old zones. Neither game is exactly new graphically. They both have a paticular style. In wow's case they went with a style and stuck to it for a couple reasons, one being it can run on lower hardware which broadens their playerbase.
i think its not so much people cant afford it but just the fact you have to pay that forever and are expected to pay for $60+ expansions on top of that just does not feel good at all after people get a taste of the pay once play forever model GW2 has.@@KC-py5vq
i spent hundreds of $$ on GW 2 character boosts cuz of the dumb, hero point system. i can tell you havent touched it since release... since its in fact.. not casual at all while doing the end game stuff.. sad you never got there.. not hardcore enough id say..
even now Gw2 raiding still cant even compare to WOW wotlk difficulty level 15years+ ago. I dont enjoy doing stuff that is not rewarding. in WOW u raid and guarantee shinny stuffs in Gw2 u raid and guarantee trash@@Ailasor
So weird everyone loving the horizontal progression honestly that's the only system I absolutely hate about gw2. I never accomplished anything I'm as strong the moment I start to the moment I quit. There's no fantasy to it. But both games stories are forced down your throat to a point I find neither enjoyable to progress through. I want to play the mmo how I want not pay for this to move on.
Everyone on here is gonna say GW2 because hating on blizzard is the cool thing to do. But the truth is Wow is a way better game. Im a classic player and there is no world quite like azeroth. Just look at the numbers. There is a reason why Wow is the most popular mmo of all time and people always come back to it.
,,Free to play version with ,,some'' restrictions''. HAHAHAHAHAH more like bazzillion most important things are all restricted to the point i have to say it shouldnt evr be called ,,free to play'' , but only something like ,,test mode'' .
idk, ive played f2p gw2 for 1k hours. granted i got addicted to wvw the moment i stepped in there, but it doesnt remove the fact i still got full ascended gear and was able to have fun with a f2p... or maybe im just a masochist coz a 60 slot inventory is torture with gw2's loot generosity. xD
Brother… the restrictions only like inventory space, banks and arguably the mount unless you have the expansions but they generously give you rent mount with only few hours.. imagine those who played since launch without mount at all until expansion came out. Gems you can exchange with gold vice versa 😂 now compare that to your monthly subscription.
I just want to point out one particular mistake i made in this video, the exile's reach starting island was introduced in shadowlands NOT bfa!

GW2 is a game that you can go full on tryhard and grind your *ss off or just take your time and play casually. You will never feel forced to play to still relevant. Once you get your gear, you are set. Just try it out. Core game is free!
Are you rewarded for going all out in GW2 - as in, are there significant disparities between players according to gear etc.?
@@Avo7977No, the difference between easy to get gear and hardest to get gear is about 10-15%. If you love chasing numbers GW2 is not for you.
@@Avo7977no gear diff. But you can go all out on improving skill. For example, best player does 100% dps, a top player will do 90%, a common good player does 80%, an average player will do 60-70%. The skill progression can take time and be really rewarding.
@@Avo7977 skill matters way more
I'll give it to you for GW2 for exploration, respecting players time and more positive community but the combat is garbage compared to wow.
GW2 Is way better. Trust me, I was stuck in WoW for 15 years...
Tell me you suck at wow without telling me

@@prestiplex Oh yeah, this one game will prove your point.
And the core world not up to date but its still fun to explore.
core world is not up to date because its already completed. there is expansion to grow the world more.
Light Armor:
Mesmer= Arcane mage/rogue/shadow priest
Elementalist= Fire and Frost Mage/Shaman
Necromancer= Warlock/Unholy DK
Medium Armor:
Engineer= Hunter(traps and tools aspects) /enhancement shaman
Thief= Rogue/shadow priest/Monk/MM hunter
Ranger= Druid/Hunter
Heavy Armor:
Revenant= Death knight/Demon Hunter
Guardian= Paladin/Priest/Windwalker Monk
Warrior= Warrior
Its simple.
If you value YOUR time, play Gw2.
If you value the GAME's time, play Wow.
Played WoW for 8 years, transfered to GW2 a year ago
god darn.. i wasted so much time and money on WoW.
Gw2👍👏🔥❤️
Playing guild wars 2 like other MMOs literally ruins all fun and completely misses the point of the game.
gw2 all the wayy believe me gw2 is the best mmo for 2024 if u ask me before 2015 i will tell u wow
Guild Wars 2
In GW2 you create your character and start at the very beginning of the story.
In WoW you have to play three RTS games before start the MMORPG and will be thrown at three expansions after the actual beginning of the story.
So in the metter of storytelling, GW2 is way better.
Lol your intro where you walking in gw2 is the same place I use in my intros 😂 great video
Once I tried GW2 back in 2014, I never looked back at WoW
GW2 all the way, for so long I have searched perfect mmo and finally found one
GW2!
Guild Wars 2 will always be my second home. Azeroth is my first.
My friend was #1 in WOW battlegrounds he tried to get me into it for years and I’m finally getting into it this year and feel like I’ve been missing out on so much, I’m more of a pve player tho I like the dungeons
in wow also you see other players playing or doing their task?
Wow is great at keeping it's playerbase, but sucks at getting new players, gw2 is amazing for new players, but has a difficult time keeping players post endgame, and i say this as a gw2 fanboy
only reason there is still player because those players spent monthly subs and they feel if they stop playing, they like waste their life to nothing.
that mesmer fashion
Just always end up going back to Guild Wars 2. The combat is just the best, period. The cleave damage, the mobility and the dodges... i love it
Wow should learn to from Gw2 and start adapting to horizontal progression
Problem is most good looking Stuff in Gw2 is locked behing Gemstore or Trading Post. Its not like In WoW where you can run old Raids to get nice looking gear. You have to buy skins by converting Gold to Gems in a rotational Gemstore. Also you need to buy Character Slots and shit.
Thank you for pointing that out
I played it 10years ago or so and what I vividly remember is you gotta use gems for Bank slots too.
Damn. I got thousands of hours in both and this was genuinly a very good summary for anyone wanting to try either.
It's very simple. If you want casual game go gw2, if you want more endgame focused go with wow. Their very different games aimed at people with different goals.
This. This is always my answer.
@itsmegiancarlo Yep, both games are good. they just have different focuses. Each game has its own strengths and weaknesses. I personally like both. I play wow for the difficult endgame, but when I want to relax and just have fun, then I get gw2 going.
Lol no
I've played a ton of WoW and only recently really started getting into GW2, they are vastly different games.
TL:DR - GW2 - Mounts, casual friendly, tons of solo activities, more cohesive RP storyline and fun jumping puzzles/explorations
WoW - Raiding, combat, PvP, game mechanic precision and atmospheric immersion
I have never played any of these two, and I feel like the video tries too hard to make WOW looks good
yes
I believe you forgot the Endgame World vs World where a server fights against 2 other servers. Massive battles. Have not seen it in any other game yet.
GW2 W eazy!
Oy!
I saw this video earlier!?
What's different now?
Hello mate!
Yes i reuploaded it because there was an issue with the sound in the previous one.
Thank you for tuning in!
I have played both, and GW2 is the better game overall.
Gonna get to the point on this one. GW2 has some unique ideas in place that I found enjoyable *weapon types effecting spells*
But this game does have one big problem for me personally and that is the graphics/bloom.
Specifically, if there was a bloom toggle, I think this game would look way better, but since that is part of GW2's style. The game is sometimes unbearable with how much lighting abuse they have going on via armor/landscapes. *dirt should not glow*
Another rough patch is that if you are playing on a trial, mounts are not a right in GW2, making the experience traveling...Less then good. *Seriously, there should not be a timer on trials for how long you can use a mount for, it's 100% FOMO*
All in all, while endgame -can- be good, my first impressions of it--And a specific dragon fight involving a ship/cannons left a terrible taste in my mouth.
there is a graphic option to turn off post processing. also you can turn ally skill animation off (I turn it off on everyone but you can also set to show party or squad if you want to, tho keep in mind if ur doing a 50man squad for meta, it'd be like you didn't turn anything off at all 😂) for big metas it's gonna get bright still but i stopped getting skull lag after I turned other ppl's skill animation off
I had bloom issue in first few years. After i changed my monitor n gpu....i decided to seriously fix it. So i took alot of time to adjust all options from contrast brightness vibrancy etc both in nvidia n monitor, now my game looks really good, right amount of glareness, color, ambience, shine, darkness etc
QUESTION IS: WHo would play a cartoonish game like WOW and pay tons of money just to keep playing?? It's nothing compared to gw2 duuhh
There basically is. See insig's comment.
Problem is that it turns of everything else included in the post processing. No underwater effects, no drunken effects, no heat haze etc...@@israelquiles9127
In WoW your toons are rented thanks to the Subscription model. No subscription in GW2.
Dude just be honest you can't do shit without paying in gw2
@Dark_Wizard_of_Mu Yeah even i as a gw2 player knows its a shit system can't even get a Mount without paying.
GW2 is amazing. i will never return to wow.
as someone that played both i can say GW2 is superior , and the company isn't run by the evil corporation ether .
however both games even though looking similar arent the same - nearly at all .
there are classes in both games that arent in the other game - lets be real - if u enjoy said class u gonna play the game
reaper - guardian - mesmer = are all very unique and there is nothing like that in wow
shaman - dh = are unique for wow
gw2 = much friendlier community , people will often go out of their way to help u complete something ... true account wide achievements
wow = 20 years worth of content - new classic era started 2weeks ago - you can experience game once again from the begging .
if u're a fan of slower game - wow maybe more appealing to you , while if u like faster paced game gw2 maybe better choice
story fans - while warcraft starts very strong and gw2 very weak (in story telling) some time around 2nd expansion those are reversed
and gw2 story (and story telling) becomes better then warcrafts .
all in all if u wanna play mmo i would suggest starting with GW2 since base game is 100% free . you can level a lot of characters and have deep
understanding of the game before u will need to spend 1$ .
if you cant find anything u like in ether of the two and are a fan of games like oblivion and skyrim ESO maybe for you - ESO just like GW2 becomes better
and better with every expansion ... while wow is (its just not getting better ... they add more stuff sure but ...)
I just don't get horizontal progression. I like getting stronger, and if I'm not, i don't know why i would be playing
Yes thats the only Thing that really bothers me. All classes can fill any role
why would that bother you? i personally like not switching characters everytime i want to play healer, dps, or support/dps. in gw2, a profession can be all 3 just by swapping build templates with a button. its kinda confusing to keep the immersion in when im not always a necromancer.
Played WoW for years, after my account got hacked and banned, I left it. I was searching for a new MMO for ages, tried them all: Rift, Arc, Neverwinter etc…
None of them really captured my attention until a friend introduced me to GW2. It took me a while to understand it as a new player because the mechanics are so different to other MMOs, but once I got to grips with it, I was hooked.
The classes, the world building, the PvE content, the mount system - even the STORY (omg the story…)
So good… I love guild wars 2 ❤
GW2 no subscription is what works for me. Pay for DLCs and thats it.
All i hoped is please just dont talk about the classes....
ofcourse GW2 is the best, who would pay a game every month just to play a childish looking game like WOW?
Why should I pay unnecessary Money for something where WoW is 11 years behind? All features since Shadowland is copied from WoW. After the Announcement of the 3 expansions, WoW is where GW2 is today! What a Question!! Little Money and in front of WoW or pay a lot of Money and live Years behind the Moon!
WoW goes GW2! Blizzard has been copying GW2 since its release! Why should you play WoW when all the features have existed in GW2 for Years! Without GW2 there would be no Dragonflight or Future Expansions! Sad but True!
the most interesting fact of guild wars 2. that in a game named "Guild Wars 2"... there are no factions, and thus no faction warfare........
but world wars against worlds are daily
WoW lore died at the end of WotLK ! GW2 > All ! ! ! :)
lol it's not even fair to compare. wow should have finished atleast 10 to 15 yrs ago
GW2 is fun but the graphics look dated
I'd rather play a game with dated graphics than a cartoon looking game
@@raffyalam3929 Honestly both of them are cartoon looking with their graphics.
What? Ich play GW2 for a while. When i look wow videos, wow looks old.
I've been playing GW2 since 2012 beta. If Wow became free to play I'd quit GW2 in a heartbeat.
You can't afford 15 a month??
then after playing WoW for a month you probably switch back to GW2 with a big relief
i think its not so much people cant afford it but just the fact you have to pay that forever and are expected to pay for $60+ expansions on top of that just does not feel good at all after people get a taste of the pay once play forever model GW2 has.@@KC-py5vq

GW2 🙂
i spent hundreds of $$ on GW 2 character boosts cuz of the dumb, hero point system. Who the fuck thought to lock the most fun and interesting skills behind a map exploration system that takes 5000 years? Anyway, tried every class....and then just quit. GW 2 is.....not my cup of anything. Recently started retail WoW, so far LOTS of fun. We'll see if i stick to it.
You should play World of Warcraft and it's not even close. I saved you 14 minutes
gw2 was a let down for me played on launch was fun but after the game became boring. now i never look going back to gw2 and thx god i did that . i love hardcore mmo not casual
i can tell you havent touched it since release... since its in fact.. not casual at all while doing the end game stuff.. sad you never got there.. not hardcore enough id say..
even now Gw2 raiding still cant even compare to WOW wotlk difficulty level 15years+ ago.
I want to play the mmo how I want not pay for this to move on.
no thx no pay to win for me, i will go with guild wars 2
Everyone on here is gonna say GW2 because hating on blizzard is the cool thing to do. But the truth is Wow is a way better game. Im a classic player and there is no world quite like azeroth. Just look at the numbers. There is a reason why Wow is the most popular mmo of all time and people always come back to it.
it's just a lot of fat geeks
if you are 15 wow if you are 30 gw2 - SIMPLE
,,Free to play version with ,,some'' restrictions''.
Correction: The normal races actually have more customization than the allied races, which is sad really.
At first, you should never play actual wow, it is pathetic
