Thanks for watching!!!!
ua-cam.com/video/wbkZq9566I0/v-deo.html yo just released a new cover! Drop a comment and let me know what else I should try.
You gain like 40 levels of skill practicing that song, something really outside jazz music, but i think it gives you a lot of fun resources to play with
Exactly man, I can’t even explain how much it has changed the dexterity of my feet… and stamina!
0:45 That invisible cymbal sound amazing!!!
Bah haha I didn’t even realize. 🤫🤫
xd
that's new series by sabian called Aerothin😂😂😂
Bass frum dynamics is all over the place. You can hear your calf cramping. Amazing work. Liked and subbed
playing this song is the equivalent of running a marathon
In quicksand…..
@tok1964
As someone new to drums,
This is an accurate feeling
Or learning to walk again
Lika damn wobbly leg, baby deer
Haha
no pain no gain
come on matt!!
Exactly right!! Definitely some pain involved lol.
Well done Matt, great leg workout
I know right! Thanks DAD!
great job dude! funny to hear it played on jazz kit sizes lol
Haha I know right with the high Tom. The bass drum is still a 22” though. I tried it on an 18 and it sounded ridiculous. 😂
Holy fuck hearing this played with felts is such a jazz flex lmao
Any musician of any genre respects this song so much.
It is a masterpiece!
welcome to metal show anytime \m/
😄😄🤘🤘🤘
fucking awesome and congratulation.
You're a metal drummer now.
Hahah thanks so much man!!! Still partial to jazz but I’m working on it. 🤫🤫
Insane foot work Matt, I bet your calves and feet were on fire afterwards!
Dude yes totally!
Great great great work!1111111111
Thanks baby!
Nice cymbals!
Cool. Now play the song “Symbolic” by the band “death” at the same tempo they did live in LA when they got cut short on time and blasted one out. I wanna see the foot work lol good stuff man. Love jazz drummers and death metal lol
Thanks dude I’ll check it out but death is pretty insane with Richard christy and gene hoglan
@@yarpyarp85 and never forget Sean Reinhart. He's the best drummer of the three. RIP Sean.
@@bradevbwnah Gene was definitely the best and most prolific of the three easily
@@Kain_R_Heinlein dude no doubt Gene is a machine. He's my #2. Sean changed the game man. Regardless, they're both God tier players. Cheers brother.
Happy new year!!! If you wanna help me out please comment as much as u can, anything just comment, thanks! I will love u forever if u do!

Uh oh really….. 🫠🫠
Nice attempt man. That song will take tons of practice. Haake spent 6 months trying to get it down.
Thanks so much! Ya for sure, I have to figure out if it’s worth it. Lots of fun to learn this much but it’s really challenging.
Awesome stuff here
🙏🙏🙏🙏
That was a fun clean cover to listen to.
Thanks eh!🙂🥁🙂🥁
This is actually possible just check out Greyson Nekrutman a young jazz phenomenon who now plays for metal band Sepultura!
Duuuude I know right he is fucking insane. Just amazing talent!

wowowowowowowowowowowowo
BABY!!
Gave those bass pedals a workout
Bleed equals fucking respect. Although it seems you've never had enough time to finish learning. Still awesome
Haha thanks man!! And ya no way the whole song would take soooo long. Maybe if I get a bunch of subs and people request it enough but for now I retire lolol
Video ended early cause his calf’s were about to give 😂
Exactly! 🦵🦵🦵🔥🔥🔥
i pray for your calves
Please do dude, they were burnin for sure!
Hahahahahahaha
how did u do that
Blood, sweat and beers baby!
It must be the most complicated djent drum groove ever 🤷♂️
How long did it take you to practice just for this short video? And do you think you'll be able to do the whole song?
I’m embarrassed to say lol, but nothing too crazy. I practice almost everyday and it was part of my routine for at least 3 months. I Put a priority on it the last couple of weeks though. As for the whole song, I know I could learn it but I’d have to invest a lot of time. If some how a bunch of people want it I’ll do it though lol.
Thanks for watching eh!
@@yarpyarp85 I definitely want you to do the whole song and it is perfectly understandable if it takes you a long time to practice it. After all, even the drummer took a long time practicing it. So take your time, my dood.
Thanks man ya I guess I gotta get back to work haha
Make the Snare purs louder.
Its needs more swing!
both death metal n jazz drummers can do da blast in whiplash?... death n jazz are cousins?
Maybe distant cousins but some of the metal drummers now a days seem to have more jazz in them. Like Matt garska for sure!
Noticed a tiny bit of sloppiness in the footwork, but it's forgivable - song ain't easy to play. Great work all things considered. c:
Thanks bro ya still working on it. Recorded some new stuff, gonna post it on Monday. 🤘🤘
Thomas plays just singles with the left foot, doubles with the right one
Comment
🙏🙏🙏
It’s funny that we always see videos of non metal drummers attempting Metal yet we hardly see any Metal drummers attempting to play jazz or pop or ska or anything outside their comfort zone!
Some of us can't 😂
Personally get bored and lose place on simple things...wouldn't class myself as a drummer now, more an idiot who hits things 😅
That’s true right, I’ve seen some metal guys try jazz but unfortunately it was mostly fails 🫠🫠🫠
Showoff 😂
Hahaha ♥️
too soft double bass
That's because it's a real bass drum with no triggers. That's how it would sound like if a drummer played bleed while you were in a room with them.
@@marshaltito7369 I didn't mean it in that sense, but the kicking energy, there are different techniques of using the bass pedal, that's what I meant. I love when I see energy in a drummer, as if the drum owes him money :)
@@marshaltito7369 A viđi ga Maršal Tito, tek sad skontah ime, šta ti ja kucam na engleski, opučam se ođe 😅
@@vremeistine Lagano, pozdrav.
I’d have to hear less music and more drums to believe it. But that’s just me.
Jazz is dead
Nononononononononono not even close, alive and kickin
You never heard of Senri Kawaguchi then
I can appreciate the foot work bu😢 I’ve never been able to listen to angry screaming through a whole song. Therefore I can’t even listen to the metal bands . Speed drumming sounds like a machine with no melodic progression or feel, speed, faster, faster, faster
The song is not that fast, the whole pattern on the double kicks is though.
Most drumming does not have melodic progression, unless you're referring to drum fills, in which case, there's plenty.
Jazz is not for me and I don't enjoy a lot of the music but I always admire and respect the countless amazing musicians in the genre.
Death metal sucks . Really sucks compared to music.
