- This senko fishing in Southern Oklahoma really explains the 3 best ways to fish the mighty Senko! The bass are bitting really good in the shallow water on an unweighted senko, a slightly weighted senko and a heavy weighted one for the deep water! A lot of great action and a lot of good solid information to help you catch more bass!
They say time spent fishing is not subtracted from a man's lifetime, so that means Roland is gonna live Forever!
Amen to that 👍!
Crazy how good of shape that he is in.
"SON" I remember this from when I was a kid watching TNN on weekend mornings. You, Hank Parker, Bill Dance and Shaw Grigbsy. Awesome!
My dad visited Bill Dance's property here in Tennessee. He said he had a building full of boats and all kinds of tackle, poles and reals. I sure wished I've could've been there.
I was born and raised in OKC! Left for the military in 2004 and never went back! I'm a Texas guy now and will never leave, been here for 15 years
I love the way you hookset in a boat. Keep it up Roland
Thank You Roland for Teachin, while Jimmy Houston is Preachin.
You have helped me in so many ways. I’ve watched all you’re videos and I’ve learned so much. I keep a high rod and watch my line. Thank you so much for sharing you’re knowledge with us.
Roland you always help us out thanks. Brother
The greatest Bass Slayer ever son is still doing it,👍🤧🙈
Good stuff Roland! 💯
Deer Lord, would love to be on any lake like that! You're the man!
Love how into catching the fish you are . I swam across a river in sulphur la. Just to save my favorite lure. My buddy asked me if I was nuts and if I have heard of Gator's.
All I have to say is that you are the best fisherman I have ever seen and I really appreciate what you do for us so thanks
I think I enjoy Mr. Martin even more than the Tacticalbassin men, & I enjoy them quite a bit.
I've been learning from Roland Martin for a living time!
Best of all time Roland 💪
Never stop fishing 🎣!
14:37 Roland catches trees like me! But mine dont catch fish after...
I can watch your videos over and over again!! Amazing idol and rolemodel to us all!!
Hey Roland I always enjoy you videos and information that you give us. Thank you and keep on fishing!!!!
Hey roland,we appreciate your commitment to the channel!we also know Jimmy's got his priorities.but were here cause we like bass fishn and even more, bass catchin
Me too
Nice! That big'un made you work it. Nicely done👍
Thanks Roland
I might try these different senko rigs for walleye. I often use something like a Carolina rig with a live nightcrawler, but should expand the approach.
Another great video.
Great video! Love your channel, learning a lot of cool stuff!
Love this! Would be great if you could list your bait & gear in the comments. Thank you!
Giving a shout out to Jimmy Houston..Thanks for setting up Roland with your boat..Thanks to you also Roland..What kind and size line were you using?
Mainly 15# mono
Be careful melting those worms down Roland, those fumes are pretty toxic. Always best to have a fan going to blow it all away from you. Love the videos!
I do
Hey, Roland have you ever heard of a pro fishing with a bobber in a tournament? Drop shotting obviously works, although I never tried it I think dangling a senko below a bobber would work as well. Next season I'm going to try it.
Nice job as always Rowland keep up the good work what is your all time shallow water favorite bait other than a senko.??
Hey Roland buddy thank you for all your amazing knowledge. I really like the favorite rods that have come out but the reels just aren't very good. They really need to redesign there reels. That F is about as big as a car ornament. Regardless, your an inspiration to me and my family and we will always support you. Even if we disagree on equipment 😎😁
JESUS Roland! Senkos only catc big fish for you hahaha. Nice catches!
Great video I like it
What pound test and type of line were you using? I didn't catch it during the video. Thanks Roland!
that nuts how many bass in a small area. and some big ones two.
I dont know how you find +4lb fish after fish after fish. Truly amazing! Do i need to move to Fla? Whats your secret to finding them?
When your in those Florida everglades do you tie uni to uni knot from braid to flouro, or do you use straight braid, straight mono or straight flour? Wondering how that uni to uni knot holds up on that Big equipment catching them 8-10#'s you pull out.
Looks like you are fishing Jimmy's lake :-)
Yes he is
Great video and bass fishing but I didn't see how to rig the heavyweight 4 deep fishing. Can you please explain it to me? Thanks so much and keep it up love the videos
It was a 3/8 once slip weight
Great video as always Roland! You're my go to fisherman for any advice on lures. What type of rod do you like for the senko?
Man, you make fishing look so easy from that chair, Roland. Can i ask if you would rig a senko on screw-in frog hook or not at all? I have used it and found the soft plastic lure lasts longer but i am worried it will impact on my landing the fish.
I'm in SC and fishing in the summer had been brutal. Send like they aren't biting. Any suggestions/tips?
Good deal!
Hey Roland, have you ever fished the senko inshore? I wonder if red fish or even snook would go for it?
Redfish do
Is it better to throw a senko with or without a weight
That depends on the wind and the water depth
rolands catching em right and left and left and right
Roland what reel are you using in this video? Is that the way it's supposed to sound?
The Solus by favorite have ceramic bearings and make noise
Hey Roland; maybe I missed it but are you using a leader? Do you think bass are line shy when using straight braid? Thanks!
He colors braid black with a sharpie
I fished this past weekend using straight 10# braid with a wacky senko and the water was about 4 foot visibility and the fish didn’t care one bit!!
Not this time
how do you like fishing out of that Tracker?
He has the exact same boat in Florida
Just great
Rolands missing all the good fishing here in Florida lol, Jimmy needs to oil that squeaky ass seat,,,,
What is your rod/reel setup, please sir?
I'm using a 7' med- hvy action rod by Favorite and a 8:1 ratio Solus reel by Favorite. I used a couple of lines. One was a 15 # mono and the other was 30# braid
@@RolandMartinOutdoors thank you for responding. Im going to buy my first casting rod/reel this fall and will look for this one. Thank you
Everytime I fish a senko weightless it doesn't sink it just floats. What should I do?
Larger and/or heavier guage hook?
Or screw weight 5:55
@@drmitofit2673 I use a 4/0. What would work better?
The Yamamoto senko has a lot of salt and will always sink about a foot a second
Hey Roland what do you call a man with no arms or legs in the water?
Dead
Unlucky

A little trivia about Roland that just shows his greatness.
www.bassmaster.com/news/roland-martin-wins-3-row
And still doing it today!!! Not competing on the national level but his videos demonstrates without a doubt his knowledge and skill and he is so entertaining to watch. Thanks Roland!!!
Sounds like your reel needs a little TLC.
Great teacher and appreciate your time and efforts, Roland but the audio fades and the video could benefit from more editing to speed through the lulls.
Here in feb 2024 and sad to hear youre not sponsored by Yamamoto anymore.
I could never getta bait caster to go that far 😵😵😳😳😳😪😪😪
Practice as much as you can … 😊
Those bearings are GRINDING
Needs Hot Sauce
You need to talk louder or wear a mic it's hard to hear you at times
literally explains nothing about fishing a senko other than with a weight or with out a weight, and just says watch the line
Agreed, he didn't talk technique much but you can watch him - keeping the rod pretty high and being active with the tip. Important that he was not letting these fish play with the bait too long to avoid deep-hooking.
well if you’d watch his retrieve, that basically shows you how he’s fishing his senko. he even says he’s swimming the bait at one point. some retrieves produce well & some don’t. that’s where you’ll have to experiment.
