As a Bears fan, I agree that Trubisky is the weakest between the trio selected in that round. However, the offensive line play has been horrible this year & Trubisky did make strides in growth last year. I'm willing to let Mitch play out the rest of the year before I officially stop defending him. David Montgomery can't even get 4 yards per carry while breaking 5 tackles in the backfield each time the line is so bad this year.
He also has the coach of the year scheming plays for him that can't hide his inadequacies
@@patrickhayes606 a lot of people can't stand Nagy in Chicago. The "media" or "national" narrative is that Nagy is some genius & Trubisky is awful. Most Bears fans have it the other way around...that Nagy is overrated & Trubisky is underrated. We've all seen Mitch throw dimes when he's off the leash. But Nagy wants to keep adding 10-15 new plays every week & stick to short gimmicky trash instead. Nagy also refuses to give Montgomery the ball. I get the OLine is bad but Montgomery is the best back on the team & Nagy hasn't let him play 3-4 downs in a row all year. The fact that Nagy would rather go with gimmick packages giving Taylor Gabriel a jet sweep, Cordarelle Patterson a 3rd & 1 stretch, or Tarik Cohen a HB Draw from shotgun instead of the basics using a talented Montgomery to run all that should be telling of the kind of playcaller Nagy is.

Highly unlikely. The QBs in this class were massively overrated by draftniks. Even QB-needy teams like the Browns, Jets, and Niners passed on this years signal callers in favor of more proven defensive talent. Moving up to #2 in the draft is normally quite expensive, involving multiple second and possibly first round picks to do so. If there really was that much interest, the Niners would have taken an offer from a team further back who would've needed to give up more draft capital than Chicago.
Rumor is that Browns and Bears were in a bidding war but either way it's a dumb trade for the bears.

This year he has had two substandard games. One due to rust from no preseason snaps. The other due to being rushed back from a torn labrum.

Will never understand how gm’s could talk them self into taking Mitch over Dashaun Watson. He literally was the consensus best player in football while at Clemson. That was a terrible QB scouting year. There is No Reason Deshaun shouldn’t of Went first because of his College Accolades and accomplishments. And then mahomes because of his greatness now.
If you look at Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence’s college career, they did the same or less but still earned the right to be drafted #1 overall.
Him and Trevor Lawrence led their teams to Two National Championships and they all have 1 championship win and one mvp.

QB is a need for the Bears because do you honestly think that Glennon is the answer at QB? I don't leading to why I am pretty sure that's the reason Pace reached for Trubisky. He wouldn't make this bold of a move unless he was (1) certain Glennon is a sure placeholder and (2) Trubisky was someone who saw as a long-term everyday starter for the Bears. The problem is that the Bears fans have to wait at least a season until they actually see him play probably.

calm down everyone! cutlers gone the worst is over, jordan howard and our line are going to be our main offense this year. we cant go into the season with just mike glennon, if pace thinks trubisky is the best qb in the draft then the trades worth it. i wanted adams at three but this wont be as bad as cutler grossman or mcnown.

Not really. 3 pro bowl seasons from him. Two playoff appearances because of him. And 3 1st round picks when you traded him.
Even with Watson’s misdeeds he would’ve lasted more than 3 years unlike Trubisky. You guys probably would’ve wrecked Patrick Mahomes if I’m being honest.
