You can own your school, neighborhood, rec league, etc, but on the pro level, the guys that looked unstoppable in their hometown suddenly look like hot garbage compared to other professionals. Bears fan here, thank you for doing a deep dive analysis of Trubiskys downfall. I never really looked at him with shame, just a guy who was misjudged, he could be good when he wants to be, he just never wanted to be. But in my unbiased opinion, I would take him over almost every backup in the NFL and even over a few starters. I went to my first Bears game, and saw Trubisky beat Aaron Rodgers to eliminate him and clinch the North, only 4 Bears QBs accomplished that, Trubisky has my respect.

Him and pace didn’t mesh and the org was focusing a relationship that couldn’t withstand. He had no idea about it cause Pace kept it under wraps, Mitch was sought almost a year before that draft. Pace’s closest advisor settled on Mitch and pace followed. Like I said from the jump, the Pace regime was nothing but a personnel disaster. Even if you left off the last two items, I doubt there are very many that had less playing time and were drafted either first or second. About the only mistake they avoided with that draft pick was accidentally drafting the bottom most regarded punter when they actually meant to draft a QB. I have heard of someone shooting themselves in the foot. I've never hear of someone shooting all three of their feet before....

I watch him from day one wasn't a bears fan but I noticed the offense was 1-2 bang ( very similar to russell wilson this year) Mitch couldn't really do progressions which was shocking but after a deep dive it made sense Nagy had a smoke screen offense meaning 2 or possibly 3 routes where just there they were meant to actually be thrown to... so guess what defensive coaches figured out something MITCH one had 1 side reads left or right. 50% of the field was dummy routes boom mitch regression starts or was it just who he was IDK but Nagy was exiled also so maybe Nagy was def part of the problem and so was mitch neva moving to a pro-style was a bigger issue

I've been a Tar-Heels fan most of my life growing up but if you told me who's was the greatest Tar-Heels of all time? It's Lawrence Taylor by a longshot as far as Mitch Trubisky goes I thought he was going to the real deal coming to the NFL as a 1st Round 2nd overall University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in the 2017 NFL Draft but his best year was 2018 coach Matt Nagy won NFL's Coach of the year award because of Trubisky but ever since Mr.Trubisky has fallen of the face of the earth he's only been to one AFC Title Game while he backed up Josh Allen in Buffalo but when he came to the Steelers I was excited about him getting a fresh start but instead he's becoming garbage but now he's back with the Bills for 2024 let's hope for the best good luck 1:40

lol both of you are forgetting the pinnacle aspect, just because you have a top 5 defense doesn’t mean your offense can let its guard down, because what exactly happened is what I predicted. That same defense had to be on the field so much and the defense fizzled out with the injuries/ wear and tear, so quick it’s actually sad

@@WhittttBzzzz yes ur correct the offense played good for 1 year and it was not cause of trubisky Matt Nagy actually was good that year that’s what made the difference then he tried to do more then he could and it all went to shit but the d was a top 5 unit for like 3/4 years straight they were really good in 2017 just didn’t get any credit till they added Mack and Roquan but yes the offense had to do at least eh but also big thing was turnovers they were always in good fields position that made a helluva difference

Great dude we wanted him to succeed after Chicago ya know. I should id myself as a Bears fan. But my god, I've never seen a QB run out of bounds behind the l.o.s. on crucial 3rd and 4th behind the l.o.s. That Thursday night Packers loss was rough, actually both season openers to GB sucked. Good dude really, but that alone doesn't win. I like your retrospective. 👍 how'd that Texas tech QB do by the way? Lol anyhoo✌

Mitch Trubisky had a rise? I always thought he was just insanely overrated. I mean, if i recall correctly, the guy couldn't even do a silent count when he got to Chicago. The only reason Mitch Trubisky had a "rise" is because it's physically impossible for the Chicago Bears to have a good QB. So they drafed him instead of Watson and Mahomes.

Funny thing is, that draft year I was super occupied on buying a house and my son starting sports around 5 years old. I had Mahommes in my Fanstasy Draft his rookie season and didn't know who he was. Got me a couple veteran players for that young wierdo. Maaaannnn I lost that season bad and Mahommes averged 35+ all that year in fantasy. Haven't played fantasy football since. I used to be good at it, but Mahommes retired my career and then my Steelers got Trubisky...I knew it wouldn't work 😂😂😂

2:02 - Fuck no. Mitch was not the unanimous QB1. About 3 months before the 2017 draft, the rankings shook out as Watson as the almost unanimous #1 and ready to start day 1, with Mitch pretty solidly slotting in as QB2 in the draft. Mahomes was seen as a mid to late 1st round pick with massive upside but was raw and would need to be developed. That order did not change until 2018 when hindsight began to taint the narrative to fit lazy criticism of Chicago. There's a reason the announcement of Mitch as the pick was met with boos at the actual draft.
We'd been expecting Watson until the trade up was announced and everyone thought we jumped San Fran to get Solomon Thomas, and instead Goodell waddled up to tell us we picked the consensus 2nd best prospect at QB instead of the obvious best prospect in Watson.

Mitch is good he’s really good, but Chicago didn’t believe in him, and they didn’t help him grow after 2018, Chicago can produce great defenses, and even receivers, but for a QB Chicago is the worst place to land. Doesn’t matter if your TB12, or mahomes, Chicago will ruin you, a new qb would have a better chance anywhere else, look at burrow and the bengals, Lawrence and the jags, Herbert and the chargers, or picket and the Steelers. Chicago failed Mitch Turbisky
