I had this very same dilemma when trying to work out which Ronseal products to use. Your video has thoroughly answered my questions. Excellent work and thank you very much. I'll be using the cleaner and reviver and the natural decking oil.
Glad to help. 👍👍

Useful info n great garden design layout too!! I’ve used Ronseal natural decking oil before and this time will be using Ronseal Ultimate decking oil natural so see how it goes on…even tho it’s water based after researching it more. Will be using a paint pad brush with pole to apply it n get into the grooves. Liked n subbed!.,
Thank you 👍
Nice garden bro
Thank you 🙏
It’s beautiful don’t listen to anyone
Thank you for your kind words👍👍 sometimes it’s hard to do UA-cam videos as you always get the ones that like to put you down. I really appreciate your comment
Great video, I do wonder if the jet wash was doing more of the cleaning and the actual Ronseal decking cleaner
Yes but the RONSEAL does help brake down the dirt. By I would always power wash. 👍
Good job and it looks great. Not a massive fan of the Ronseal water based oil products though. They tend to just sit there unconvincingly on the surface. I'd rather have something that penetrates deeply into the wood. For that you need a solvent based product. I've seen a lot of praise for Manns, but I'm on a budget, so for my current project I'm using Screwfix's own No Nonsense stuff. Very good. Literally disappears into the wood as soon as you brush it on. And I have a very thirsty deck 😂
I will try that next thanks buddy.
I like the clear decking oil better near your shed
its lasted really well but will redo next year. thanks for watching
Great garden ! Wick oil/varnish did you use for the shed ?
Just the RONSEAL oil. The same stuff on the decking by the shed. 👍
Great looking garden mate , does the decking cleaner damage the artificial grass at all ?
No not at all 12 months on and all good. I will be doing the same this year. 👍👍
Hi there how has the decking held up? Also did you spray the oil on to the shed and that part of the decking?
Hi yes I used the oil on the shed and it’s brilliant 1 year on and it looks brilliant still going to wash it down this / next weekend the light protector has lasted The best. The oil decking looks dirty and the oak always looks dirty. I will do another vid on how it lasted when I was it down so you can see. Thanks for watching 👍👍 have a great weekend.
Garden looks great! Can I ask what you used on your fence please?
Ducks back Cuprinol silver copse
Would it be possible to use the decking oil on feather edge fence?
Can’t see why not. I cover my shed in it. But fence paint would be cheaper I would say.
@@RRW agreed on that. However can't find any other product that leaves that natural finish
Hi. Is the decking oil like a rusty water?, I bought a tin a few years back and it was like a rusty water and had a strong chemical smell and it was great , then bought a similar tin as couldn’t find the same one and it was more like a brown paint consistency with no smell but wasn’t as good
The only one I can think of is the oil I use called natural oak that was like rusty water but it didn’t have a chemical smell and to be honest I wasn’t too keen on the look of it and the weathering of it has turned the decking quite grey over a 12 month period more so compared to the other two oils that I used.
Thanks for replying, garden looks class btw
comparing tins labels at the shop : Natural Pine is lighter and more yellow than Natural. Protector is lighter because it's not soaked into the wood, it's a light white wax coating on the surface.
Yes the wax layer helps the wood in my opinion. It’s like sun screen but you can wash it off and it looks good exposing the wood again. For you to protect again. 👍👍
I think I will do another video on what I have done for you all . 👍👍
What's the verdict after several months? Protector or Decking oil?
The protector looked good after 12 months the wood went a little grey but was the best over all . the oiled decking look dirty after the summer but washed up ok. I have just used protector on all the decking this year. 👍👍
@@RRW Thank you for your quick reply and contribution to wood decking science! I'm sure people would love to see a 12 months later video. Your observation makes sense, oil has a tendency to attract dirt and wax repels it. But the decking oil prevents greyness as it has chemicals and stains to reverse and cover the greying process. Protector is a few pounds cheaper.
