In our latest Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video we learn all about Kyne.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Kyne (Kiss at the End):
Nord Goddess of the Storm. Widow of Shor and favored god of warriors, she is often called the Mother of Men. Her daughters taught the first Nords the use of the Thu'um or "Storm Voice."
It would have been fantastic if you learned Kyne's peace at the end of this quest. It is a spell that no one can appreciate, because it sucks, but if it is bestowed upon you by Kyne herself it opens up a lot of roleplay possibility's.
as dragonborn speaking the Tongue and inheriting this shout is part of the daughters history with the dragon priests stealing them for themselves
Ah yes to recibe kynes blessing you should pay some "divine gold" and then slay the "bandit champion" in order to prove you are the "truest nordic hunter"...

This video inspired me to create my very first original character centered around Kynareth call "The Valkyrie". I've been having a blast with this character. Thank you guys so much for bringing Skyrim back to life for me!

@@0sumzack611 Ulfric's misuse of the Thu'um is an affront to Kyne. And I highly doubt that he went through all that training without knowing that he'd eventually use it for his own personal gain. He doesn't strike me as a pious man. He uses the name of Talos to gather followers for his army, but he never mentions the rest of the Nordic pantheon because he doesn't really care.
Fuuuuuuuuuck Talos. Shor is the god of the nords.
Kynareth is but a pale shadow of Kyne
Kynareth is almost the same as Kyne, only more city dwelling because for Cyrodiil, so she doesn't include things like hunting. That and Kynareth doesn't cause rain by crying while mourning Shor like Kyne does, since in Imperial theology, Shezzar is not dead, only missing. Elves attribute the wonders of nature to Y'ffre rather than Kyne, but Y'ffre is not a divine, rather, is a Ehlnofey, an earth bone. That means he's more dead than the divines, who are said to be sleeping. Imperials only include "living" gods in their divines, unlike nords and elves who are happy to worship dead or missing gods like Shor, Magnus or Y'ffre. There is only one race that worships both Y'ffre and Kynareth are bretons. The breton pantheon is probably the most interesting of all.

The guy in the quest in this video says it too. Imperials don't worship her as a warrior because to them only Talos is the god of war, whereas for nords ALL gods are gods of war. The imperials mostly associate Mara with motherhood, the nords have conflicting viws about motherhood godesses.

Kyne and Kynareth are more like different aspects of the same being. Sort of like The Father, The Son, and Holy Spirit in Christianity. They're all the same being: God, yet they're all somehow sort of separate/different at the same time. My best guess is they're like different versions maybe? Not quite sure.

Hey I'm playing through Skyrim SE and I noticed that in the Soul Cairn, Serana said "look at the sky, what kind of place is this?" I looked up and seen that there was a small grey moon in the sky and I wondered where that would be cosmologically to Nirn and it's moons. Then I thought that maybe the Soul Cairn is on the big red moon of Nirn and it exsits because of the after effects of the divines killing lorkan and ripping him in half and his soul split between the two moons. That could also explain the vortex in the center of the sky as well.
As a thalmor aligned high elf player, it’s good that you point out there are only 8 divines.

Kyne's Token is weak, but I recently found a mod that replaces it with "Kyne's Blessing" which is a passive ability so you don't have to take up an equipment slot. This makes the quest much more worthwhile. There's also an optional file which doubles its power if you still think the bonus is too weak. ;}

I think you mean Kyne. My Dragonborn is a true nord, therefore she believes in the Nordic Pantheon. So for her it's Kyne, and not that imperial imposter.

Love these deep lore videos. You guys go in depth with all the details, but know just how to explain it in a comprehensive manner. I was watching on my TV You Tube app & it never shows links. You mentioned a video of Scott's pertaining to the older Nordic pantheon which was a precursor to the current 9 Divines. yet another of my favorite quests....
I always held the theory that Kyne or Kinerath in more immersed than people think. From the Eldergleam, to the Pale Lady, to even the Throat of the World, and finally the Holds itself.
From Spriggins, to Wisp Mothers and so on, where there is nature, wherever the forest grow, the waters flow, and the winds blow Kyne aka Kinerath always test us everyday and bestows her breath on her children, after all she is the mother of the race of man.

I think a better reward would be good for the quest. Perhaps a hidden effect like Prowler's Profit that has a similar effect to Voice from the Sky - making all animals not run away or attack.

Why would Kyne bend the fabric of nature? That defeats the entire point. Bending the fabric of nature is like if Nocturnal illuminated the shadows for you or Sithis made you immortal. Also, he's not a belligerent old coot. He's a man at odds with civilisation, which is pretty understandable. Only thing I don't like about Kyne is that as a protector and guardian of nature, surely she would be more likely to teach plant agriculture as opposed to hunting? You can raise plants for food while allowing them to keep to a natural life cycle unlike with animals and as plants don't feel pain, harvesting them isn't as cruel.
Hircine hunts, I thought Kyne should have been more of a guardian or protector. She is with the way she implores respect for all creatures and life, but you can make the argument when you're killing animals your respect is irrelevant unless you NEED to kill those animals, which man and mer don't.

Even if shor wasnt the 9th then ebonheart would be. There is always 9 divines.
Also shor is an aspect of lorkahn not just lorkahn because lorkahn can only exist in nirni, whereas shor can exist in sovengaurd.
Could you do a Lore video on how Talos became a Divine? Each of the 8 divines is represented by a planet. So after Talos died, did an astronomer discover a 9th planet? Are the Aldemeri Dominion now saying that the 9th planet is not really a planet? That it is large asteroid, or at best a dwarf planet? That it really doesn't count and therfore Talos really isn't a divine.
In any case, Talos is not a Divine, men cannot become gods even with the most honorable actions, and I can assure you that Tiber Septim in life was not a saint.

Casual Do you mean the ingame books or the Infernal city book amd its sequel. If in game, I'd recommend you do read them as they help you get a sense of the more from an in universe source. If you mean the Infernal city, I'm reading it now and I personally like it so far but others find it mediocre.

9:00 - Isn't much of a challenge!!... I beat this troll and his two troll pals at Level 1 - and that was a tough fight picking off each troll, then stepping out of the cave repeating that tactic on the second live troll, then using the Ritual Stone to finish the deal.

I hope there's some nod to what Frokki said about "The 9 Divines being a shadow": In an Elder Scrolls game; To learn that the statues and shrines to the divines were just enchanted items, and that the various religions were all made up to benefit the spread of a certain type of society... that'd be feckin cool. I dunno; it's all made up anyways.
