BMAC is back to talk the use of TOE HOLDS to counter LEG LOCKS in various positions.
The "SMOOTH CRIMINAL" is a sneaky but BRUTAL counter to the standard ASHI GARAMI.
Be careful when practicing this, don't do it to the white belts
& white belts shouldn't do it to anyone!

What does the Smooth Criminal move look like if they have their foot under the other hip ?

I actually address it in the video, but it can work on either side.
It works best when they do it “right,” but it’s good either way.
If they put their foot under the “wrong” leg, it makes it pretty easy to just a shuck the ashi off though, so that’s the easier play

You don't necessarily have to know leg locks to get a blue belt, depends on your schools curriculum, just keep training and try not to worry about belts or stripes, they'll come inevitably
