  • My new Leg Lock course is now live! 4 weeks of drilling on some of the most important movements and theories in the modern Brazilian Jiu Jitsu game. Check it out here:
    bmac.mykajabi.com/offers/AopZ...
    This is a lock I learned a LONG time ago and I've been shown some great variations of it over the years from some awesome martial artists such as Adlai Cleveland, Scott Elliot, and even the brilliant John Danaher included it on his leg lock set.
    Currently, this is my finishing mechanic and it's probably the leg lock I get the most often in training. I'm using it from both the 50/50 position and the Honey Hole. Well, we call it the Honey Hole at 10th Planet Decatur. Everyone seems to have a different name for it. Saddle. 411. Cross Ashi. Inside Senkaku. Call it what you want. I call it the honey hole.
    As far as damage to the opponent goes, the inside heel hook is gonna be a much more devastating lock. But if you need a tap and maybe a break on the foot, this variation of the Straight Ankle Lock is gonna be there for you.
    Let me know in the comments if this was helpful to you or if you have other techniques you wanna see!
    I'm looking forward to putting out more content like this for you guys as we continue to build this channel into something really resourceful and beneficial to the BJJ community!

      I'm wondering if this would work from more of a 50/50 'traditional' straight ankle lock configuration too...?

    bro I'm watching this at work because I got a mail saying "Nasty Straight Ankle" (should've marked it as NSFW), and at 1:28 Brandon says "I'M GONNA CRAP", this shit made me laugh throughout the whole day just by thinking about it... it might not be that funny but it was super funny at the moment *insert laughing emoji*.

    • @brandonmcninja
      @brandonmcninja  3 роки тому

      you can, yes. but there's less control, so the degree of difficulty is way higher.

    Can this work off a straight Ashi too or just off the 411?

    • @brandonmcninja
      @brandonmcninja  3 роки тому +1

      Yes it can. But you’re lacking a lot of the control that Honey Hole provides. But if you can keep them pinned, definitely.

      It works during drilling and light rolling. When they out the boot on from basic Ashi it actually makes it easier to slip the other hand in and make the Shooto grip. Thanks so much for uploading this! Next step: try it out at open mats. 😉😂
