Have really been appreciating the beginner/ fundamentals content recently Brandon
Rickson said it best. Joints above the hips hurt and then break when attacked. Joints below the hips break and then hurt when attacked. If the grip on your ankle or knee is solid when training, tap.
Or another way to say it is : arms do 'Ow...crack' and legs do 'Crack...Ow'
Great breakdown. You’ve got a real gift for distilling concepts into 5 words or less actionable takeaways… frames never push… know when to bail… it’s like learning Jiu Jitsu from a wise Ricky Bobby. If you ain’t first, you’re last.
Like my granny used to say, “you gotta put it down there where the chickens can get after it.”
Really well put, thank you!! :)
Upon watching the video further, I can't help but to admit this is one of the most well explained leg lock videos ever!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I really love your advice about curling up to maintain the hold! Thanks for all the time you spend on these videos!
Thanks so much! Sonic The Hedgehog 🦔
@@brandonmcninja yes I'm also going to use that approach when it comes to leg locks position isolate break 😎💜🥋
I’ve really struggled with leg locks and the way you’ve explained it helps. Thanks!
I really like just about everything you publish on here. Thanks Brandon!
You are the man BMac!! So good!
Dude, great break down. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I love your techniques and tips. You have helped my jiu jitsu out a ton.
This is invaluable! thank you for the great videos 👍
Quality stuff, love the overview
I love this approach to leg locks
I've been around BJJ awhile, but am very new to leg locks so this was FANTASTIC!
I really appreciate your help. You're an incredible professor and your Kelly t-shirt brings me back to childhood!
Excellent teacher and to the point vids !
This explanation of the breaking mechanics at the beginning is so helpful. Thanks.
I’ve seen so many different variations of heel hook breaking mechanics from different instructionals. It was really confusing years ago when I tried to start learning how they worked.
Excellent leg lock overview 👌
Brandon, that shirt is throwback epic. Nice!
Might be the BEST leg locking video I've seen yet. These basics are everything
I appreciate that, and I hope it helps you get a good foundation so you can get into the good stuff!
Great video, as always!!🔥🔥👊👊
Excellent instructional you made it so simple!
Thank you a ton! I tap to these more out of fear tbh, hopefully will stat landing some of my own!
Glad that I'm an early commenter here. Been trying to make sense of leg locks for so long
Extremely powerful video.
Stache' game on point as well.
Thanks for this. I was in JKD as a younger man but never learned the ground game. Your content was spectacular. I subscribed. I appreciate you.
My dude JM in the mix!! OG in the game
Awesome intro video for leglocks!🦵💥
Your the best man, look forward to meeting you someday
Great sauce to add to any game. Great video and great techniques, but what I like more than anything is the Kelly shirt! Can’t believe no one else has given you props on that shirt yet.
excellent crash course!
Haha love these videos amazing easy to understand. Nothing worse than attacking the legs only to have your opponent smile haha.
You’re the man thank you Brandon
The like and subscribe drop got me lmao
Gotta hit ‘em quick 😂
Legit first leg lock vid im watching
This was fantastic. Thanks for the tips. Huge help man! Oss! 👊
2:51=Fart sounds 😆😂🤣
3:31=Again 😆
Easy to diggest and amazing as always ty
For someone with ZERO LECKLOCK KNOWLEDGE/CONFIDENCE (me!), this was a pretty awesome and simple, straightforward explanation for getting into these positions/submissions
Thanks Brandon!
Great video
Love that statement - PIB
Amazing content thank you sir👊🏿
Amazing insights
this a a great video- my son is starting to show interest in being a "dirty leglocker" lol and i shared this with him to up his game on leg attacks...and i love the Kelly shirt...that was my boo boo in high school too hahaha
Not a beginner per say (blue belt) but man this helps. Mostly a gi guy my first three years but moving to no gi. This helps for sure
Great channel 👍
Excellent short video. Wish the internet was more advanced in the late 80's to mid 90s. Most people's leg locks were a grab and crank style, making it dangerous to roll with them.
Aye BMAC. Your videos get constant playtime from me!!! I train under Herzog here in Rochester and had to give you a shout when I saw you talking about coach Chris! Osss
Herzog is the man! One of my biggest mentors 🥰
I've just bought your instructional. Thanks for being one of the greatest and yet still affordable. I really appreciate you!
Greeting from Germany.
Much appreciated! Let me know if you have any questions at all
Great stuff
Thanks this helped im newer so all of this really helps I get frustrated sometimes because I just don’t know what to do as far as submissions go. Thanks 👍
I feel that. It can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Just plug away at it a little at a time and stay consistent. It’ll come.
Great video thank you 👍
Your videos are awesome. I appreciate em all!
I did chuckle like I always do when I hear ‘uke’, my wife is Filipino and the filipino word for a woman’s body part is ‘uki’
Lmao
Good stuff.
BMAC!!!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
OOS!!!🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
🦶💥
This is awesome. 10 years of bjj and this is brand new to me. Looking forward to purchasing the course :)
🙏🙏🥰
Loving the Saved by The Bell T-Shirt 👍
Gotta stay true to my roots
Great video. thank you
Glad you liked it!
THANK YOU!!!!!
This and less impressed more involved’S 3 part series are best intro to leg lock videos BY FAR
I'm here from Brazil learning about leg locks with a american master its a brave new world my friends. Obrigado!
Muito obrigado, meu amigo!
Come to Vegas and host a leg lock class! Please!
He got kelly kapowski on his shirt haha that's awesome
I've worked, jiu jitsu wrestling everything. I'm a shorter guy. Some 6'6" a hole started picking a fight with me. Things deescalated but I had no idea what I was going to do besides punch him in the throat and try to leg lock him. But I was scared. Definitely need to brush up on my skills. Thanks for this.
That last advice was the best advice
Indeed. That’s just another reason Herzog is the man
I don't even do bjj, I'm just here trying to write a fight scene ':D but now I'm really interested in checking it out!
Nice

Glad you finally made it!
8:25 summary of the six positions of leg locks
His roll partner is a nice trusting guy! TAP hahaha that would suck!
Could you do a video on “how to not let your partner break their knee”
I’ve avoided learning heel hooks and ankle locks because I’m worried if I catch a less experienced player they would turn wrong and while I’m gripped on their leg tightly causing them to break tear their knee. Earlier in my journey guessing at leg escapes I’ve have multiple opponents urgently tell me to “stop!” so I didn’t destroy me knee. It’d be really helpful to know more about when I’m in danger of letting them ruin their life while I’m trying to get into position.
"KNOW WHEN TO BAIL" = Cannot be stressed enough. I went to open mat today and probably caught 10-15 heel hooks. Probably 60% of those were from guys entering my legs without great control, I would counter, and then establish far superior control. While that was happening...they didn't bail and continued to fish for a leg attack on me. Every one of those could have been avoided by just recognizing that it's time to get out of Dodge.
Don't believe bmac is for real. I mean who makes jits so easy for random people who may never return the favor he is doing for them.🤣 #legend
😂😂🙏🥰 I appreciate that man
Man I need a private lesson B-Mac…I’m in Bama will travel.
Dm me on Instagram and let’s set it up
This is insanely good black belts would make u pay good money to learn this info
Siiick
Do you plan to post any more rolling commentaries with Matt Skaff in the near future? Awesome video thanks for the knowledge
Yeah we are definitely gonna do some more of that. We have a ton of content coming down the line for you guys
sweet❤
In the video what is the difference between the inside and outside Ashi? It looks the same but on the other leg?
I wasn't sure where else to ask this question. I'm very interested in buying your leg lock program, I was wondering if when purchased does it come to me in DVD form or is it a program that once purchased is downloaded?
Loved this video.
Good question. It’s all online. You can login to my site or use the app to watch. The app is super easy to use and that’s the preferred method for sure
what is that spund at 3:30?
8:23 - 8:29 - 8:35
The six essential leglock positions real quick
What's the difference between the new bjj365 and the old bmac Academy on kajabi?
Same thing. Just changed the name and added some new stuff
Hi Brandon with these videos be uploaded to your Kajabi Portal aswell ?
These are free to anyone on the tube. But if you guys want it in there I can certainly make that happen
@@brandonmcninja I think it would be a great idea. It’s just so well presented and produced with such quality. You have my vote 🤙
He looks like it hurts him, but does it hurt ? I tried this as you said and my partner said he feels tension, but no pain, is it normal ?
Thanks for the super content from France 🇫🇷
Heel hooks are an extremely dangerous submission, you feel a bit of tension and then *pop*, your knee has been damaged and you may need surgery and be out a year. Be extremely careful when learning these destructive submissions. There are good reasons why the heel hook is only allowed to higher level belts in competition and never in the gi.
Are the reap variations IBJJF legal?
Not in gi. In no gi, brown and black belts can reap now.
MVP! Get this man a golden helmet to protect that precious brain.
😂😂 I got kneed in the head the other day and my brain almost spilled out. Helmet might be a good idea 😂
I saw that on your IG. Looked like a nasty little cut. But hey, chicks dig scars. :D
@@SoulRollerFIN 😂 that’s something that people with scars say to make themselves feel better
Truth hurts. :D
Only one your missing is reverse ashi
His uki is a tough guy. I've watched him roll. ... The look on his face, even with as smooth as the instructor is moving. ... I hate leg locks.
Thanks for calling out the positions and giving pros and cons.
Fantastic content! Sexy shirt!
My pleasure. Hope that helps
Oss
@ 2:50 , someone had Mexican last night

Wait am I the only one that hear the fart sound 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
