My instructor is a black belt under Rickson. I imagined one day going out and training with the legend himself but I'm afraid I'd instantly forget everything I knew in his presence. He'd be like, "What are they teaching you over there?" haha. .

I thought the same thing when I saw that my first time through the video. Do you know he has a confirmed diagnosis?
My father-in-law had Parkinson's and it is a horrible thing for anyone to get, especially an athlete.
@@GlueFactoryBJJ Yeah I read that he had recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's and seeing this video with his hand shaking just breaks my heart.
@@peekaboojujitsoo525 One of the best things to fight the degeneration of Parkinson's is exercise/being active. If he keeps doing Jiu-Jitsu, in conjunction with the new medications they have, it should help hold off the worst of the disease's effects.
Michael J. Fox is a good example of this. His foundation also funds research and pays for some of the more (ridiculously) expensive drugs, for those patients who medically qualify. Parkinson's has a range of symptoms, so not all drugs work for all patients.
I'm going to follow Rickson more closely now to see how he progresses.
I definitely wish him luck in his upcoming battle!

Hopefully, he will remain active and fight it. It's hard (I saw that with my father-in-law), but he's been a fighter all his life. That fighting spirit will help him slow the progression a lot!

So instructing rolling with guys he wears a rash. In the video with gals.. no rash. 🤔 with the utmost respect. I’m new but have been told over and over again do not come to class and roll with anyone, females especially without a rash. No matter how hot it is inside or out.
So you have to scape or 100kg in the same way that you scape of 69.
Imagine being so bad at filming you are able to ruin an instructional from the one and only Rickson Gracie. It really does take some talent to be that terrible.
