Just took the plunge and we can't wait for our unit to arrive and get started seeing how this "appliance" can improve our food storage, quality and cost. Its always frustrated me how much money we waste, speaking of my household, on food that goes into the garbage can, this can truly be a game changer!! Thanks guys for all the time and effort y'all put into researching and experimenting with products, and bringing that information to us.

Man, I can’t wait to get one of these. Another channel I follow has been talking about these all throughout the pandemic. I’m a truck driver. I have a hard time eating healthy on the road. Once I get settled in Calgary I think this will be one of the next major purchases I do it will allow me to eat so much healthier on the road.

Awesome podcast. I think you need to do 20 pushups every time you say dehydrated food instead of freeze dried food though 😂

Does the freeze dried steaks come out more tender? Sometimes I struggle to get the wild meat to be tender, especially if the kids want something cooked past medium rare.

It will basically be the same as if you never freeze dried it. Once you add water back to the meat, it returns to its almost natural raw state.

Changing the subject, I was wearing my SOME MEN CAN tshirt today. Thought of a follow up... Some Men Will (or at least attempt), Some Men Won't (or even try).

I made my wife watch this…..I’m pretty sure it convinced her that we need to get one of these.

Hey Brian the meals that Mark and Ryan are making. Just curious to know what size are the meals. Like for a family of 4 or are they also making meals for 2 people.

You can portion your meals however you want to. When we freeze drying you just fill up your tray and turn it on. You can then divide your portions however you would like as you bag them for storage.

Off topic. But can you “overcook” bear meat in a pressure cooker? Made some a month ago, and the meat was pretty chewy, not like pulled pork tender.

My hunch is that it wasn’t cooked long enough. Canning makes the meat very tender and the temperature for canning is very high for an extended time. The pressure cooker is a great option in place of the crock pot, but sometimes the meat in my pressure cooker is tough and chewy if we don’t cook it long enough.

Sipping coffee listening and laughing about eating way to much dehydrated fruit. Made fruit leather with two quarts of apples and pears. Ate them in one sitting. Needless to say, I was a wreck for a few hours. Hahaha

Love my freeze dryer. I am going to enjoy my smoothies up on the mountain this fall. Fruits that are freeze dried are the perfect snack.
