Thank you for the excellent content. I'd love to see a discussion of Icon's approaches to improving clearances (e.g., ground clearance, and approach, departure, and breakover angles), while preserving (or improving) stock suspension geometry and travel (replacement control arms, coilovers, etc.). I'd also be interested in a discussion of the regearing implications for the larger tires you recommend. Subscribed! GX550 Overtrail Plus, 2617 miles
Very awesome, thank you. You may have said it but if so I missed it, do you know the largest tire that can fit in the stock spare tire location? Will the recommended 285/75-18 fit?
I have this same question, I suspect that it is similar to the other new Toyota products in that anything larger than stock hangs low, and looks like ass
Thank you for making this video showing how wheel offset choice is so important. Also those of us that run wheel spacers need to consider a 1.5in wheel spacer is equivalent to a 38mm decrease in wheel offset. My OEM wheels start at +15 offset but with spacers land at -23 offset causing clearance issues so lift, trimming, and a maximum caster angle is required to avoid body mount chop. Toyotas also prefer skinny tires for clearance, go for the pizza cutters with the aspect ratio of 85.
At around 1:30 you state the stock rims have a +60 offset, but they're actually +50. This can be seen stamped on the inside of the rim, as well as confirmed through the spec sheet from Lexus. +40 to +35 is still the sweet spot though!
Great job quick and right to the point. I have a 2024 First Edition. I have a 2 inch level kit on it. Will 285 75 18 fit with the original rims or do you recommend the 40 offset. I believe the original is 60 offset.

You said this GX is notably better than the LC250's suspension, but then did not address it. What differences are you referring to?
Likely wheel travel
@ The GX with eKDSS measured less front travel than the LC250 with swaybar disconnected (Car & Driver YT video).
@@jeffwarnerPHOTOcommaybe room in the wheel well?
If you install a Level kit, I have 35x11.5R20 with 15mm offset and no rubbing or trimming just wheel liner pushed in slightly and secured.
Where can we see photos? I would love to see what it looks like

Are we to assume this vehicle has stock suspension? You mentioned aftermarket control arms. Would the suggested wheel/tire fit on a stock GX550 OT+?
great video just what I was looking for
soooo.... 40mm offset is best?

SCOTT keeps it💯

Good video and I'll use it for a reference, but in general, offset is useless without stating the wheel widths
Just took delivery of my OT. so this was very interesting
Any plans to expand the product line up for the 2019+ silverado 1500?
