Croatia May 2018. Cooking a traditional Peka

  • In part two of our Croatian journey we cook a traditional Peka (cooking under and iron bell). Its a traditional way to make a meal. Time consuming but that was a good thing! It is a very social way to cook, everyone got involved and we spent time just sitting next to the fire talking. We all enjoyed trying the food.

      Roman Dekanic. Sorry for the late reply. Need to get used to checking messages! Good question. We normally don’t eat meat but this dish brought back memories of grandma’s slow cooked beef! It was absolutely delicious! I think it would still be great without the meat but the slow cooked beef has a very strong flavor.
