No that doesn't work. The Mandalorian is dead. Disregarding the STUPID and AWEFUL casting choices in the latest episode, the fact that Bo can openly flaunt Deathwatch, and that the Armorer willingly, casually , and un-organically retracts her faith (as the leader of said fait/cult/ whatever it is.) Is not just jarring, but also fundamentally flawed and out of character, not just in general, but in specificity to that character, and also internally inconsistent. The only way "this works" is if you're dumb as a bag of rocks, the plot *makes* it work, or you've built a UA-cam channel off the back of Star Wars and want to milk the corpse for all it's worth before you can't. Star Wars is dead. It's Dead Jim. Oh wait, that's from the OTHER dead show. 🤬🤬

Ugnaughts are a good example of Din's ability to speak to other cultures, but a better example is how he is able to communicate with the Tusken's. In season 1 he respects their territorial boundaries and speaks to them via sign language in order to reach a mutually beneficial agreement to cross their territory. Respecting what is theirs. Season 2 he is outright able to speak their language, which indicates he is constantly learning new skills to help with certain encounters.

I posted this on other video comments
This was a “business as usual episode” and I think Bryce Dallas Howard NAILED IT. For me the ending with Bo, Din, and Axe was very simple for a reason. Bo saw the mythosour, saved Din when she knew she wouldn’t get the dark saber, had her castle destroyed, rescued a foundling, was accepted by the tribe, and called forth by the huntress to unite the Mandalorian peoples. All the awesome stuff that happened to her before this episode gave her coming queenly affirmation some breathing room.
With that being said… Going to a unregistered world, reluctantly solving this scooby do droid mystery, being diplomatic to droids, ugnaughts, and out of touch elite class to solve their problems would be an entire I LOVE ME wall full of achievements for anyone. BUT Bo gets to be the passenger and watch Din, this zealot, do all of this with ease even showing her up on state craft. She learned Din is special, he will never see it that way. EVER.
Now back to the business as usual, Bo gets to do what Bo does best. Be a Mandalorian queen! She, business as usual, kicks Axe’s ass! Then the special abilities that Din has developed as a statesmen shines through again.
HE LITERALLY HAS TO EXPLAIN to the night owls of what THE WAY is like they are children. Leading them down the path to their own cultures reasoning. When Bo ignites the Saber, she is higher than the saber. The saber is a symbol, but she is the QUEEN! And this zealot turned unwittingly, might I add GREAT, statesmen, stands there with a silent, business as usual “This is the way… Dummies!”
I thought this was a great episode because Din wasn’t the main character, Bo’s passenger seat “this shit is happening way to fast for my taste” is the main character. And Bryce Dallas Howard…. IMHO show how bad ass Mando is.

@@ThinMantheGhost These are all things I noticed but hadn't bubbled up into my waking brain, but you NAILED IT! This wasn't the mando show this was the mando and Bo show, working together buddy-cop style. It showcased strengths in both and showed that each knew when to step back and when to step forward. This episode is far deeper than people give it credit for I think. The end showcased Bo, but really the episode was about those two working together as mandalorians trying to bring their people together.

Something I've noticed is that Din is actually super adept at picking up social ques and learning different cultures. We've seen it time and again where he's acted as the peace maker due to him understanding how people and cultures work. Meanwhile, you have Bo, who has the political knowledge, ambition, and patriotism that would allow her to effectively rule over others. So yeah, these past two episodes have totally convinced me that they would thrive as co-regents.

I think you are mostly on the money. Every episode of this season since Bo and Din have started traveling together has shown how perfectly they compliment eachother. They fight better together, they lead better together, and they give Grogu a more complete life...
Not to mention Bo-Katan's whole demeanor has been different since Grogu showed up at her door. Through all 3 shows since we've known her, she's been moody, serious, and aggressive. She's even like that in episode 1 of this season. But on her travels with Din and Grogu she has been smiling, joking, and cheerful.
I don't think this is just about "who will lead Mandalor?" anymore... I think this found family is getting a permanent 3rd member.
Or I'm completely wrong and she dies in the last episode 🙃

I think I understand what message the directors want to relay.
Din Djarin has many connections. He's an expert in different races about negotiations. With Bo Katan on his side, Bo Katan gets an opportunity to learn, since she's born noble turned space warrior.
Now that she is the leader, Din Djarin will become a consort. It's like Ranni and the Tarnished from Elden Ring. So, it'll be like monarch thing. But Din Djarin will act as the shadow of the newly reborn empire.
It's a low chance Din Djarin won't benefit from this. He literally solved all problems by himself, from saving Grogu, acquiring the Darksaber, bringing back stolen beskar ingots, received a land in Nevarro, and reuniting the Nite Owls.
It's not a job that only a single person can achieve.

If you could earn the Darksaber by killing the previous owner with some underhanded means, the Darksaber would’ve been passed around dozens to hundreds of times. I've never considered myself to be much of a Star Wars fan but I started watching SW UA-camr's videos on lore and I really fell in love with the Mandalorians.
Since the beginning of this series it always seemed clear to me what path they were taking. Meta wise they needed a cool protagonist and a cute mascot. But they made that into a story of how Mandalorians conduct themselves. They complete the task but have honor and understand injustice when they see it.
Din has always seemed like the quintessential Mandalorian the same way Worf is the quintessential Klingon, to the point where even some notable characters in Star Trek have mentioned Worf conducts himself in a way that is so pure and by the book that real Klingons don't act that way. Din is so "pure", from his unpainted beskar armor to following the creed to the letter even if he knows there are other ways. He is basically a paladin of Mandalorian culture.
Meanwhile, the galaxy is a real place with real people and to function you have to have more than ideals. Which is where Bo comes in. A lot of complaints I've seen are how Bo is taking over the show but really I'm just interested in seeing the Mandalorian people in more situations, seeing how they come together and learn from their past.
If Bo becomes basically a secondary protagonist, or I suppose tertiary after Grogu, that's fine with me. Bo was a cool character that I think is only being made more cool in live action. And Katee Sackhoff is already just awesome as is, she should totally get more work and opportunity to build this character.
Star Wars has always been a mix of scifi and fantasy but after getting the magic sword, learning you're a powerful wizard and then blowing up the bad guy we have to see the other side governance. How do you manage a civilization of countless other civilizations? I think this show is straddling both concepts. Fun fantasy adventure and intra-galactic politics.
Also I've seen places that Yoda was a Jedi Master at 90 and Grogu is 50 so we got a few decades of Disney milking him as a babbling baby, so we gotta point the story somewhere.

His job, in war, or peace, is to be the representative of everything Mandalorian culture stands for. He's a symbol and a role model.

@@FellsApprentice - it depends what the Mandalorians want.
If they want to take advantage of the sequel power vacuum to build something lasting then the old ways won't be enough. The old ways destroyed them.
Nor did Satine's vision do them any good in the long run. It left them weak in a galaxy about to be taken over by Palpatine and remade with the ideals of the Sith. It will make them even more vulnerable in a galaxy where both Empire and New Republic are destroyed and every petty tyrant and warlord with a fleet to command (imperial, criminal, even former republican) will be trying to carve out a fiefdom for themselves.
It will take a synthesis of all the various Mandalorian cultures for them to thrive and prosper. The ways of the Super-Commandoes to defend what they have, the ways of the Neo-Crusaders to destroy their enemies, and the ways of the New Mandalorians to rebuild in the first instance and then to negotiate with the rest of the galaxy so it doesn't reunify in fear of them and destroy their civilisation yet again.

But he’s not really shown agency and vision, something a leader would need to Lead their people beyond just helping them matin.
Bo and Dijn kind of need each other to do what the other lacks.

    Nice dharma talk, Sensei!
I think it was you who I first heard suggesting that the dark saber belonged to Bo Katan after she rescued Din, and it seemed like such a no brainer that I was relieved when Din turned it over to her and baffled at the haters who mocked the writers for taking what they think was the easy way out. Din was so addled after the rescue that he couldn't have understood what happened, and after seeing the Mythosaur it makes sense that the saber's ownership was the last thing on her mind. As for the timing, Din has always seemed to like setting up dramatic moments, so it makes sense for him to wait until a public moment where he could make the strongest case for her right to the saber.
My only question is whether Bo actually wants to lead her people. Maybe it's modesty and dignity that makes her seem hesitant, but I won't be sure she's truly ready to take charge until we see how she behaves on the battlefield.

I like the relationship that is being developed between Din and Bo-Katan. They make a very effective team. I also like how the Mandolorian culture is being fleshed out. As a warrior society they've become adaptable and becoming familiar with other languages and cultures can be a huge advantage in a battle. Becoming mercenaries or bounty hunters is a logical step. A warrior will do anything within their code of ethics if it will make him a better warrior.

What I think is the best part about the way this reveal was done is in keeping with the idea of Mandalorians being a culture and not a people.
Din doesn't decree that Bo is the wielder of the Darksaber by right or tradition, he asks them what they, as fellow Mandalorians, think and they accept his reasoning.
Even in Legends, Mandalorian culture was never one thing. There have always been sects and breakaways with different ideas about what being a Mandalorian means. I think that making it a cultural question rather than an inherent and unresolved conflict is a sign of growth for the Mandalorians.
I get that people who don't know her story are mad about him "just giving it" to her, but in context of her journey since TCW this may be the best chance that she has EVER HAD to actually bring a new age of prosperity to her people, and I'm here for it.

Sadly, I have to disagree on one point. Bo and Din are headed in one of two directions, both on a remarkably similar path, ever since Grogu showed up without Din at Bo's palace.
Bo immediately jumped into action to save Din. So despite her angst with him winning the dark saber, he was still her friend, and she recognized that immediately when it was essential. Ever since the two have been growing closer to each other, more relaxed around one another, and in many ways becoming a true partnership. I heartily agree they balance each other out very well, but there's an underlying theme here people seem to be glossing over. They actually respect each other enough to stand down when the other can shine and help them both out.
I honestly think they're destined to become at minimum true partners, and maybe just maybe, Bo will become Grogu's stepmom. She certainly likes the little guy enough, and seems to really like Din too. I may be being premature in this, but... the two of them pairing off wouldn't be a bad idea from several standpoints. Together they represent two disparate factions, and that will carry a lot of weight with both factions, and potentially others as well. They work remarkably well together. They balance each other out. And above all they genuinely like and respect each other.
I kind of get the sense Din covered Bo's backside with her faction, because he cares for her, and knows together they actually can bring their people together.
Relationship, or just best mando buddies, you're right this just works.

They are going to be a leadership pair, with Bo as the Mandalore and Din as the diplomat and chief minister. But that look from Paz was important, it showed that Din has genuinely earned the esteem to be the new armorer, basically. A diplomat and keeper of traditions.
