Me at the schools I work at. Didn’t know we were about to have a fire drill and went to the bathroom but it had a simplex version of the Gentex gx90 fire alarm so yeah it was super loud, couldn’t hear for the rest of the day.
I've heard of rare cases of Simplex systems having MA horns or even the older MA/SS horn/strobes. This was before Simplex started often using Faraday and Wheelock's multitone horns and ultimately coming out with their own multitone TrueAlert horn/strobes (that also serve as their low-frequency sounder/strobe option).
Yessir Simplex TrueAlerts! Always my favorite fire alarm! I also like the older Simplex fire alarms as long as they don't beep like Wheelock AS/MT lol!
Definitely a very interesting setup. They probably decided to use these because they are electronic horns so they have a lower current draw and are more reliable. They also have a very unique tone that may stand out more than mechanical horns. AS’s in the bathrooms and classrooms??? Ouch!
I’ll say there is no way to put a horn strobes in a bathroom that will jump scare people when they do their business The bathroom only needs a strobe only when every school is doing construction, I would say replace the strobes and control panel to a new system with speaker strobes so I can use it as a intercom system and the new simplex control panel, where has a microphone to use all speakers to talk as an intercom system which is a little better for every school for a upgrade
Now lemme tell you something, if I had a school named after me (which obviously will never happen) then there would be Simplex TrueAlerts everywhere in the school on code 3 and make it so that the strobes would flash first before the alarms sound every single fire drill! Also no hate comments on this comment that I made, this was just my own opinion
Honestly, those MA Sounders look like they fit very naturally on those strobe plates. The 4002 only came with 2, 2A NACs onboard as default. Maybe they used the MA Sounders to reduce current draw and keep the system in budget without adding expansion NACs? Mechanical horns typically require more amperage than electronic ones. Also could’ve been a supply issue from Simplex that caused it
This might be my favorite Simplex system ever holy crap
Seriously
I think those MA horns are the reason.
Bathroom horn strobes?! Talk about getting the ish scared outta ya! 😋

I love that combo it's my first time seeing that combo on UA-cam
Finding random fire alarm combos in systems are interesting and amazing.
8:30 These are my favorite Fire Alarms they have one in my school doing continuous horns too when I had Fire Drills.

Never thought this combination would be done. Good and interesting to see. Imagine if they put these system sensor mass on 2903 light plates lol.
That wail is pure nostalgia… 25 years ago that was how the horns at my ES sounded.
Those alarms on the hall ceilings scream like an air raid siren good Lord!
3:33 what are those things on the ceiling, they have a white base and something blue, are thos exeeders or something?
1:51 great music taste
Just about to comment that
I thought that was the mechanical horns and the MASS devices
Now this is something I thought I would never see.
9:00 ZachDC’s Grade School nightmare on continuous in the restroom is diabolical

I know right!
My elementary school used to have Wheelock MT's on continuous and they were everywhere!
It was fucking torture for me!
Very interesting Simplex system!
Nice horns!
Very interesting that the masses are on simplex strobe plates
Also, why are there two tones, ON THE SAME SYSTEM? Couldn't they have picked one?
Are those blue strobe lights on the ceiling? They can be seen at multiple times in the video.
I believe ive answered this but it was most likely towards a different person. They are wheelock Exceeder blue strobes used as a lockdown alarm
Now lemme tell you something, if I had a school named after me (which obviously will never happen) then there would be Simplex TrueAlerts everywhere in the school on code 3 and make it so that the strobes would flash first before the alarms sound every single fire drill!

That is weird to have MA horns on Simplex Strobe plates. Very cool though!
What are the blue Exceder Xenon’s there for?
why the vertically mounted annunciator?
Probably because that's the only place they could think to put it, & said spot it could only be mounted vertically in given how narrow that column is.

System Sensor MASS horns? Interesting…
As a system sensor lover, this is very cursed
Simplex Strobes and System Sensor MASS horns
10:37 why is the announcaitor sideways
Not enough space to mount it normally on the wall
Imagine seeing a setup with 2903-9X02 and MA sounders
Mr LoneTard
Why, just why. You don't have to mix and match, or do you?
@1:44 A fire alarm should not sound like that!
Why not? Sounds fine to me
@jacksvacssafety2620 no, it should sound more like @4:46
@jayo1212 it still does code 3, it's a fire alarm
Wow!
Would've sounded better with 9838s all tho not a bad system
Is that system sensor mass?
Yes
Yes
system sensor MA i thing
It’s the MA sounder attached to a Simplex 4903-9101
Weird ahh system
That thumbnail has a good Simplex 4903-9101 strobe plate with a System Sensor MA sounder
