Back in Black is one of my all-time favorites, it was originally recorded in 1980.
Amazingly it still sounds modern, and I think that's because everything is simple, no gimmicks. In the 80s so many guitar players drenched their sounds with effects, me included..!!
But the sounds that stand the test of time are generally pure guitar and amp sounds, I believe AC/DC always kept it pure.
To play Back in Black well, I think guitarists has to strike just right with the right hand. I would describe it as a light touch but a strong snap from the wrist. It's the same technique that probably works best for golf or tennis.

I'm a 62 year old blues rocker who's just having a blast learning stuff I should have learned years ago. My vocabulary is expanding rapidly....just in time for retirement!

Phillip Wooddell ok fine >:(
@@phillipwooddell1875 your head hurts because you have no point your just saying dumb stuff
Tim you really take the time to explain stuff. Most people on youtube just rush through things without any explanation. But you really are the real deal and a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
One hell of a tone, one hell of a player.
the tone is shitfest
Tim - your solo cadence is just tremendous. You bring a certain "swagger" to the song. Really impressive.
The solo starting at 0:21 is just so beautiful, so musical. Amazing.
You are a fantastic guitar player and teacher, Tim.
Thank you!
That's my dream guitar! One day.. one day probably never come.
Your lessons are spot on, Tim!
I've learned so much from watching you and how I play has improved over the best several months because of these videos!
It's amazing how seamlessly Tim's pick changes color from Yellow to Grey to Purple in this video. Great lesson love it!
Your teaching is just so clear. Thank you.
You are not only a consummate player but a terrific teacher as well.
Thank you for this detailed lesson. I wish there was teaching like this
when I started out.
Tim I love the way you gracefully flow over the fret board 🤟🏽
we are so lucky to have you...you share unconditionally and with joy... Thank you! I know will probably never see this since I'm five years late!

Hi Tim thank you for taking the time to put these great videos on UA-cam I thank for not putting beginners or intermediates down at the beginning of your videos and what you do is make people fill anything is possible learning should be fun and you do that........I'm new to electric and your videos make me want keep practicing.
...
Brilliant , as a intermediate player I thought I had this in the bag but watch all the little nuances you show made me think otherwise. We are lucky to have you share your knowledge, thank you sir.
Great tutorial as always, Tim. Thanks!
Thank Tim, teaching myself guitar with the help of your channel and the way you break the song down finger position wise and ACDC with their classic rock and challenging fingering and chords. Best regards Shannon York NS Canada
Tim you always play any piece as good as the original, or, better if needed!...Thank You for sharing your talent, I appreciate your consideration!
A truly iconic tune. Great lesson.
Thanks! #back-in-black
Recent subscriber here. love the concise but honest instruction. Have played for 35 years and lots of paid bands but have never been able to play the first lick of the loop right. lol. I was overthinking it. This helped me understand it. Very true about the walk up part on verse, a large stretch, best to slide into last to E5. Great song selection also. thanks!
I’m liking this new series of basic 60/ 70s classic rock songs. Sometimes your lessons are just too advanced for the common man. We need a bit more of this
Great tips from Tim pierce , this guy really knows his stuff
Nice breakdown Tim. Thanks for the tips, especially “make it your own". We all play a little different and are at different skill levels.
I loved the solo you played Tim. I like the shift to the A Mixolydian run. I had to figure that part. You're amazing.
Love the way you teach. Thanks for doing this, it is appreciated
Patrick Mundell Thanks Patrick! #back-in-black

I only recently started watching your videos. Great job. It's good to know that some of the stuff I learned on my own is actually correct. Your very good. Great job!
Thanks Tim. I'm sure like others, I'll be coming back to visit you again, and again, and some more. You help a lot.
Fantastic lesson and superb playing. Beginners want to play this and get a very rude awakening on AC/DC’s subtleties and brilliant rhythm that isn’t as easy as they thought.
you are one of the best guitar teachers on UA-cam keep it up 👍👍
You have the best lessons Tim thx so much always so accurate

Thanks Tim. I have been watching your videos for a while, and love the way you teach. Keep them coming please!
Will do :) Thanks! #back-in-black
Great stuff. It just goes to show Malcolm Young's genius as a rhythm player. The ringing open strings just make it sound all the better.
you play like a BADASS!! Great!
"I think they wrote this to show everyone who's Boss." LOL - yeah - so true, Tim. And can be said for that entire Album.
The man just SMOKES Angus on the intro...💪🔥💪
Thanks , you make it look so easy! Phil

Hey, Mr. Pierce. This is really fantastic. Just the information about which strings NOT to let sound apply to so, so many tunes. Also, the bonus lesson on your site is worth its weight in gold. Thank you, both for all the great music and for being such a fantastic, generous teacher. Cheers!

For those about to Rock 🎸🤟🏼 We Salute You 🤙🏼 ....Not surprised if I find out Tim put down some guitar parts on AC/DC tracks
Dear Tim, thanks for this great lesson. I follow all your contributions and feel that they really help to improve my playing. I am playing Keyboards since I was 7, so for me is kind of hard to switch without taking lessons. I more or less got stuck since 1998 :-) but now there is really some progress so I am confident to play some tunes with guitar on stage with our cover band. I like your seamless versatile playing of different styles. Thanks again and greetings from Bavaria, it's near Germany ;-)
Much Appreciated Thanks Thomas! #back-in-black
