Yes Sonic X one of the best Sonic The Hedgehog series I scene I was growing up and watching on Saturday morning the only thing I hate about it was Chris appearing on the show
Sonic X was my favorite as a kid! Fun fact: I actually used to watch a channel here on UA-cam that would re-upload episodes from the series. It’s awesome to see Sonic have a resurgence with kids and in the mainstream since the live action movie came out, because the character was such an important part of my childhood and internet culture in the early part of the 2000’s.
Of course I remember Sonic X! Gotta go fast! It has my favorite cast in the franchise. Jason Griffith as Sonic & Shadow and Mike Pollock as Eggman are my childhood. It's crazy that Pollock is still voicing Eggman to this day.
Yeah that really is something for Mike Pollock still voicing Eggman anyways. ^^ Heck if I was to like say choose a personal favorite actor/VA for of Eggman, Mike Pollock would naturally be at the very top for me. ^^
I guess that’s just goes to show the proof that he just loves playing this character. Much like how Peter Cullen loves playing Optimus Prime, you know?
Most fair Sonic X review I've ever heard, since most would rather focus on the aspect of Chris being included, than giving fair credit to the various pros the anime had. Good job man.
I didn't dislike Chris like others did however I did find Helen to be a much more interesting choice for a central (human) character. A girl who is bound to a wheelchair makes friends with a hedgehog who can run fast could make for a very unique dynamic. Her looks could also help make more sense out of Shadow being reminded of Maria when looking at her as opposed to Chris. I mean that solo episode with her and Sonic was a good showing and it really makes me wish that she at the very least was a more prominent character than she is in anime.
To this day, I really adore this Sonic’s portrayal. I think it’s my favorite even, or at least one of. His character is quite mature most of the time, yet he can be playful and kind of an idiot. He’s not too stoic but not too childish either. A perfect combination. I like that he just knows what he’s doing, he’s chill. His heroic moments are super cool too, as he can be a cold motherfucker and I respect that lol Also I find Dark Sonic the most interesting form of Sonic EVER. Really wish there was more to it, especially since it was Eggman of all people to calm Sonic down. Very curious!

Sonic X was probably one of my favourite shows when i was a kid ..Its crazy how now 2 decades later, I recently re-watched it with my son introducing him to the franchise....Since then we've watched a lot of other sonic shows, sonic games, merch etc.
Please tell me you are referring to the Original Japanese Theme and not the horrible 4Kids Dub theme, also the Dub ruined the episode where Tails has to sh00t Cosmo.... 4Kids has a policy against outright mentioning "death." The Japanese Version had no such restrictions.
9:05 To be fair, the humans here has more reason to mistake the two. Sonic was from another world and the only hedgehog with protruding spikes to be present on that world for quite sometime, then Shadow appears out of nowhere, so a lot of people can mistake that hedgehog with protruding spikes to be Sonic as they don't know there is another one that fits that description. The only other hedgehog that was with Sonic at the beginning was Amy, and she has her spikes combed down.
Bro I just started rewatching it a few days ago. Loved this series so much as a kid. Soo underrated, whenever I see people talk about sonic x they usually criticise it so it’s nice to see someone talk some positivity on it. Still one of my favourite shows ever, I swear I got depression whenever it ended.
I used to get SO hype when I would hear the Sonic X opening on the TV. Absolutely adored the episode of Sonic vs Knuckles, made me so happy especially after playing Sonic Adventure 1

I've been watching Sonic X for the first time recently and I've been liking it! It's kinda insane how big the leap in quality from Seasons 1 and 2 to 3 is honestly
MANNNNN this is a throwback for me. That first super sonic transformation still gives me chills. I started playing all his games after that and I'm glad I did
The best part of Sonic X by far in my opinion is Eggman's portrayal by Mike Pollock, which this was actually Pollock's first time voicing the character. He did such an excellent job bringing an intense energy, goofiness, and villainy as well to Eggman. We all know Pollock as *the* Eggman guy now, but Sonic X is where it all began. The writing of course also plays a part here, and I think they really succeeded in writing a more interesting version of Eggman than past iterations who isn't just a one-note evil genius. Here, he has a sentimental and philosophizing side, as well as an interesting self-reflection on his own villainy that we get glimpses of across a couple different episodes. And of course the constant card-carrying goofy one-liners delivered in an entirely serious manner, which are now almost synonymous with Eggman. "I pretended I was a bar of soap and gave them all the slip!"

Fun fact, the original JP dub of Sonic X played Live and Learn during the battle against the Final Hazard, just like in the games. 4kids, saddly, didn't have the licensing rights so it was omitted.
The one true, unforgivable crime 4Kids committed against this series wasn't the censorship or the script. It was replacing Live and Learn from ep38 with generic music. I'll never forget the goosebumps I felt when it started playing. I watched the JP rips all the way back on its initial broadcast, subtitles be damned. You have no idea how sorry I felt for all the fans that grew up with the 4Kids dub, only for them to find out years later how they were robbed from that moment. But hey, it al least gave us Mike Pollock. Bless that man as Eggman.

I loved watching Sonic X growing up. But I never finished it. So I'm actually rewatching the whole series right now, both dub and sub. Dub for nostalgia and sub because I know the dub was heavily edited and I want to see it unaltered. So far I'm having fun with it
I remember Sonic X and I will forever love the series, especially season 3. Season 3 is my most favorite season of Sonic X. New Story, New Characters, and its all original. I think the dude who made season 3 of Sonic X also did the story of Sonic Unleashed if I'm not mistaken.
Why in the anime community does NO ONE acknowledge the absolute baddass ass-whooping Cream and Cheese dished out to an insane robot that even the main characters couldn't touch!
I once had an idea for a continuation for this series: Taking place a few weeks after the end of the Metarex saga and Chris's departure from this world and back to his, a mysterious object enters the planet’s atmosphere and crash lands on the surface of Sonic's world late one night. Sonic, Tails and several others head to where it landed to investigate it only to find a large crater left by the impact of the object, but not the object in question. As everyone eventually leaves, Sonic sees someone disappear into the forest. When Tails asks him what’s wrong, Sonic says it’s nothing and proceeds to run off to investigate this more thoroughly. Six months pass by and no one’s seen Sonic since then. While everyone thinks it’s normal for Sonic to be gone this long, Tails and Amy can’t help but worry. Suddenly, an armada of flying battleships appear out nowhere and begin attacking everything in sight. An army of robots also began flying out of the battleships and begin tearing everything apart. Tails, Amy, Knuckles and several others begin fighting back, believing Dr. Eggman is up to his old tricks again. However, a battered and bruised Eggman, along with his robotic assistants Bocoe, Decoe and Bokkun, appear in his damaged Egg Pod, claiming that this isn’t his doing and that some unknown assailant had attacked him, kicked him out of his base and had reprogrammed all of his other robots to serve it instead. While everyone wonders who could be behind this, a large floating platform, along with several more powerful looking robots, floats down right in front of them. On the platform stands a mysterious cloaked figure. When they ask who he is, the figure removes his cloak and reveals himself to be none other than Sonic himself. When everyone recovers from the shock of this revelation, they ask Sonic why he's doing this. He claims it's because after seeing Eggman fail so many times at taking over the world, he decided to “show that big, fat loser how it’s done.” When he returns to his flagship and flies off, everyone is wondering where he's going and if they can snap him out of this delusion. It’s at this point that Eggman reveals he planted a tracking chip on one of the robots and shows that they are heading towards Angel Island, causing Knuckles to speed off in the same direction out concern for the still shattered Master Emerald. When they arrive there, they see several robots taking the shards of the Master Emerald and are somehow repairing it with a mysterious energy coming from the canisters on their backs. When it is fully repaired, they proceed to have it lifted up into the airship, causing Knuckles to fly into a rage and try to stop them from stealing it. That's when Sonic appears and stops him, saying that he needs the Master Emerald to use as a radar to help him search for the seven Chaos Emeralds for his plan for world domination. They all proceed to fight, with Sonic being backed up by his robot army as well as seven of his most powerful servants, the seven Chaos Generals, consisting of Emerald Hawk, Sapphire Turtle, Citrine Clown, Diamond Albatross, Topaz Crocodile, Amethyst Specter and Ruby Emperor. During the fight, the forest around them is set ablaze and everyone begins to feel that they’re about lose when suddenly a blue streak speeds by them and strikes Sonic, revealed to be another Sonic. As everyone is left confused by this, the two Sonics proceed to fight, during which the evil Sonic is knocked towards a tree, causing several burning branches to fall on top of him and catch fire. However, the evil Sonic doesn’t seem to be bothered by this and keeps walking towards them like nothing is happening. Just then, the fire burns off the evil Sonic's skin and fur, revealing a metallic shell underneath. The ruse over, he reveals his true name as Metal Sonic, a robotic double of Sonic created from a combination of Sonic's DNA via one of his quills and Sonic's personal data, made to surpass the original Sonic in every way possible. He then escapes with the rest of his Chaos Generals to search for the Emeralds to complete his plan. Now aware of the true threat, Sonic and his friends, along with Dr. Eggman and his lackeys, begin their journey to search for the seven Chaos Emeralds and stop Metal Sonic once and for all. Again, sorry if this was so long.
Sonic X was what got me into Sonic in the first place! I remember the first episode I ever saw was the Knuckles-centric episode in season 1, and then right after it was the one in the jungle with the monkey robot. Memories!!
I remember watching 4Kids a lot back in the day. Summer of 2006 my older sister and Cusion died in a car accident. I remember my parents told me the news on a Saturday morning because All I wanted to do afterwards was escape into cartoons. I don’t think it was that day but soon after was the episode Cosmo sacrificed herself and Tails pulling the trigger made me ugly cry. 23 years old I re watch that episode to see if I would have a reaction to it and sure enough I was fighting back tears.
I remember watching sonic x episodes uploaded in three parts in 144p with my sibling back in the day. Brings back happy memories of my childhood! Have a fantastic day!

Early 2000's presented my favourite character designs of Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, Dr Eggman and the rest of the crew. Should have permanently stuck with that look.
Absolutely heartbroken there's no Sonic X nostalgia resurgence in sight. Regardless of quality, it was one of the first anime I watched subbed, becoming aware of the 4Kids dubbing practices, and along with Tokyo Mew Mew was one of my gateway series to the subbed market. I'm still legit haunted by Cosmo, Emeral and that Maria 0.2 pilot girl's tragic deaths, and I can't talk to anyone about it because it's Sonic freaking X.
I'm loving the trend of Fox Box shows. I'm really hoping you do one for the F-Zero anime that was never fully aired. I randomly decided to watch the completed Sub version, and after ~20 episodes I'm surprised how very 'not bad' it is.

All i remember about Sonic X was it being kinda close to Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, but then going completely off the rails and becoming Star Trek for some reason.
Great video, Sonic X was probably made me a sonic fan and got me invested into the Sonic universe as whole, especially Sonic Heroes was the first sonic game I played. While I do think Sonic X is not perfect I still think has some nostalgia towards it and rewatches it definitely brings back memories!
Sonic X was amazing. Made me feel like the blue hedgehog was actually fast. That racing episode between Sonic and the guy with tiny wheels on essentially a jet plane was what introduced me to it.
Sonic x was my childhood. I watch the Japanese version now and it is a lot better eng ver. I loved Season 3 it is the season that I remember fondly from my childhood. Also, It is a unique story that I can not get anywhere else in the franchise. I love Cosmo’s character and her relationship with Tails. Her death was heartbreaking and memorable, I cried at the ending. It is not perfect but I love it dearly.
while the game sonic colors was introduction to sonic, i consider sonic x my true introduction to sonic since it is what introduce me to alot of the series main elements, such as its extended cast, the chaos emeralds, and the storylines of the adventure games. for me this show is no guilty pleasure , its genuinely of my favorite cartoons even if its not perfect.
I'm hoping he did. And I also hope he's doing well. Because well seeing a friend you grew to care about sacrifice her life and die would definitely leave some trauma.
Sonic x was a big part of my intro to sonic as a character, and there’s genuinely some good stuff in here story wise. Especially in the Japanese version. I’ll always defend this show and it holds a special place in my heart.

It's amazing that you made a video on this. I haven't thought about this show in years. About a month ago a channel popped up for me that has all the episodes so I've been slowly re watching it all. This show was my childhood and was some of my favorite TV at the time.
Ahh Sonic X was a big part of my childhood and my favorite Saturday morning cartoon!~Season 2 being my favorite since it was basically a Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 animation! ❤
I actually heard about Sonic from this anime for the first time. I woke every morning at 7/8 am just to watch it on Saturdays when I was 7. I was a kid who hated to wake up early, I usually woke up at 11 am so imagine how much I loved it. They looked like classic cartoons like the Looney Tunes but with actual plot and chemistry/personalities that weren't ''hitting each other for fun''. Tails was my favorite because I loved foxes, he's cute and smart (and he still is and I still love them). Then I realized that Sonic had games and I played CD and the rest is history.
Adapting the game stories was a good idea, since if you wanna get into Sonic you can learn a fair amount of stuff before jumping into any of the titles by just checking out some of season 2! It's pretty much the only one to attempt this too, so I'm curious how transitioning from say, Prime, Boom or the movies to the games is for new folks now
I remember watching this a couple years ago on Hulu for the nostalgia. I watched it in Japanese and I believe it was Sonic that said, "Shit!" And it caught me off guard.

Blame the writers for bad translation. Instead of crap or darn, they went for a more literal translation and they didn't even realize it's vulgar in other regions. Not to mention Japanese Sonic does say a lot of random phrases in English especially "okay"
This show was one of my first introductions to the blue hedgehog. I remember watching it on Saturday mornings on 4KidsTV. (It's kind of funny how one of my first introductions to both Kirby and Sonic was through their shows.)
Some clarification on the Japanese season 3: It was released well over a decade ago as direct-to-video, it just didn’t air on TV until recently. And it wasn’t just the voice acting, but the full Japanese version, which 4Kids changed and censored even more than the first two seasons. Probably the biggest hit to it was the final battle and Cosmo’s death, which were heavily toned down in the localization. The original version had Tails getting much more emotional as he and Cosmo outright say they love each other, and Tails breaks down crying as he blames Sonic for not being able to save her. Also, the part with Cosmo telling Sonic she’s still alive was added by 4Kids; the original dialogue was one last villain speech from Dark Oak. I usually prefer dubs, but the Japanese version is just that much better in this case, especially for season 3.

Sonic Adventure DX began my obsessive love for Sonic and coincidentally Sonic X literally came out that very weekend though I didn't discover it till a month later. I'm a huge Chris fan and I have my own reasons why I stand up for him. I also feel like Chris needs a constant presence in his life since his parents are always gone and his Grandpa, his maid, and his butler are way too busy that they can't spend time with him. While his friends do come on over they can't always come on over either. Sonic and his friends especially Sonic change that up for him by being there for him no matter what but when that gets taken away it crushes Chris completely. I absolutely adore Chris' friendship with Sonic, by the way. :) It's so awesome to see Sonic actually be friends with a normal boy like Chris! EEP! :) Sonic X, admittedly, has its flaws but I don't care. Lol It's my favorite show of all time! :) In fact, this is an unpopular opinion but even though I wish that Sonic and his friends had more screen time in the first two seasons. I prefer the first two seasons more so than the third season. I just love seeing Sonic and his friends actually live on Earth and interacting with the humans. In fact, the first season is my main favorite because it's so cool actually seeing Sonic and his friends play baseball or go to the beach or go on a cruise or go to the mall or find The Chao Garden or go to a haunted house etc. with Chris, his family, and friends. I always love origin stories.:) Fun fact, I typed up three novels over Sonic X that are over a thousand pages. One of them is a Pokemon crossover story. :) Pokemon was my main favorite franchise before Sonic replaced it. :) I just LOVE Sonic so freaking much! EEP! :)

I mean that solo episode with her and Sonic was a good showing and it really makes me wish that she at the very least was a more prominent character than she is in anime.
To this day, I really adore this Sonic’s portrayal. I think it’s my favorite even, or at least one of. His character is quite mature most of the time, yet he can be playful and kind of an idiot. He’s not too stoic but not too childish either. A perfect combination. I like that he just knows what he’s doing, he’s chill. His heroic moments are super cool too, as he can be a cold motherfucker and I respect that lol
Also I find Dark Sonic the most interesting form of Sonic EVER. Really wish there was more to it, especially since it was Eggman of all people to calm Sonic down. Very curious!

Sonic X was probably one of my favourite shows when i was a kid ..Its crazy how now 2 decades later, I recently re-watched it with my son introducing him to the franchise....Since then we've watched a lot of other sonic shows, sonic games, merch etc.

9:05 To be fair, the humans here has more reason to mistake the two. Sonic was from another world and the only hedgehog with protruding spikes to be present on that world for quite sometime, then Shadow appears out of nowhere, so a lot of people can mistake that hedgehog with protruding spikes to be Sonic as they don't know there is another one that fits that description. The only other hedgehog that was with Sonic at the beginning was Amy, and she has her spikes combed down.

It made sense of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Very valuable lore for child me who was obsessed with those games at the time.
The metarex saga was pretty good and seing sonic slightly go into dark sonic was interesting overall not a bad series
The last season of Sonic X emotionally destroyed me as a child. Cosmo and Tails were so precious and I was just so upset how it ended.

I've been watching Sonic X for the first time recently and I've been liking it! It's kinda insane how big the leap in quality from Seasons 1 and 2 to 3 is honestly
MANNNNN this is a throwback for me. That first super sonic transformation still gives me chills. I started playing all his games after that and I'm glad I did
The best part of Sonic X by far in my opinion is Eggman's portrayal by Mike Pollock, which this was actually Pollock's first time voicing the character. He did such an excellent job bringing an intense energy, goofiness, and villainy as well to Eggman. We all know Pollock as *the* Eggman guy now, but Sonic X is where it all began.
The writing of course also plays a part here, and I think they really succeeded in writing a more interesting version of Eggman than past iterations who isn't just a one-note evil genius. Here, he has a sentimental and philosophizing side, as well as an interesting self-reflection on his own villainy that we get glimpses of across a couple different episodes.
And of course the constant card-carrying goofy one-liners delivered in an entirely serious manner, which are now almost synonymous with Eggman. "I pretended I was a bar of soap and gave them all the slip!"

Me and my brothers loved this show. It was one of my favorite FoxBox/4Kids shows, along with Kirby, TMNT, Magical Doremi, and Winx.
Fun fact, the original JP dub of Sonic X played Live and Learn during the battle against the Final Hazard, just like in the games. 4kids, saddly, didn't have the licensing rights so it was omitted.
Sonic X was really popular in my opinion and as someone who loved it I am sure it hasn’t been forgotten much.

I watched Sonic X back in 2018. I enjoyed it though not as much now as I did then.
The one true, unforgivable crime 4Kids committed against this series wasn't the censorship or the script.
It was replacing Live and Learn from ep38 with generic music.
I'll never forget the goosebumps I felt when it started playing. I watched the JP rips all the way back on its initial broadcast, subtitles be damned.
You have no idea how sorry I felt for all the fans that grew up with the 4Kids dub, only for them to find out years later how they were robbed from that moment.
But hey, it al least gave us Mike Pollock. Bless that man as Eggman.

I liked Sonic X because Sonic Adventure 2 was my favorite game in the franchise and they directly adapted the story for the show.

I remember Sonic X and I will forever love the series, especially season 3. Season 3 is my most favorite season of Sonic X. New Story, New Characters, and its all original. I think the dude who made season 3 of Sonic X also did the story of Sonic Unleashed if I'm not mistaken.
Yes, the writer did Sonic Unleashed. And yes, that game felt very similar at times to the Soul Blazer series, but hey. It still had a good plot.

I once had an idea for a continuation for this series:
Taking place a few weeks after the end of the Metarex saga and Chris's departure from this world and back to his, a mysterious object enters the planet’s atmosphere and crash lands on the surface of Sonic's world late one night. Sonic, Tails and several others head to where it landed to investigate it only to find a large crater left by the impact of the object, but not the object in question. As everyone eventually leaves, Sonic sees someone disappear into the forest. When Tails asks him what’s wrong, Sonic says it’s nothing and proceeds to run off to investigate this more thoroughly.
Six months pass by and no one’s seen Sonic since then. While everyone thinks it’s normal for Sonic to be gone this long, Tails and Amy can’t help but worry. Suddenly, an armada of flying battleships appear out nowhere and begin attacking everything in sight. An army of robots also began flying out of the battleships and begin tearing everything apart. Tails, Amy, Knuckles and several others begin fighting back, believing Dr. Eggman is up to his old tricks again. However, a battered and bruised Eggman, along with his robotic assistants Bocoe, Decoe and Bokkun, appear in his damaged Egg Pod, claiming that this isn’t his doing and that some unknown assailant had attacked him, kicked him out of his base and had reprogrammed all of his other robots to serve it instead. While everyone wonders who could be behind this, a large floating platform, along with several more powerful looking robots, floats down right in front of them. On the platform stands a mysterious cloaked figure. When they ask who he is, the figure removes his cloak and reveals himself to be none other than Sonic himself.
When everyone recovers from the shock of this revelation, they ask Sonic why he's doing this. He claims it's because after seeing Eggman fail so many times at taking over the world, he decided to “show that big, fat loser how it’s done.” When he returns to his flagship and flies off, everyone is wondering where he's going and if they can snap him out of this delusion. It’s at this point that Eggman reveals he planted a tracking chip on one of the robots and shows that they are heading towards Angel Island, causing Knuckles to speed off in the same direction out concern for the still shattered Master Emerald. When they arrive there, they see several robots taking the shards of the Master Emerald and are somehow repairing it with a mysterious energy coming from the canisters on their backs. When it is fully repaired, they proceed to have it lifted up into the airship, causing Knuckles to fly into a rage and try to stop them from stealing it. That's when Sonic appears and stops him, saying that he needs the Master Emerald to use as a radar to help him search for the seven Chaos Emeralds for his plan for world domination. They all proceed to fight, with Sonic being backed up by his robot army as well as seven of his most powerful servants, the seven Chaos Generals, consisting of Emerald Hawk, Sapphire Turtle, Citrine Clown, Diamond Albatross, Topaz Crocodile, Amethyst Specter and Ruby Emperor. During the fight, the forest around them is set ablaze and everyone begins to feel that they’re about lose when suddenly a blue streak speeds by them and strikes Sonic, revealed to be another Sonic.
As everyone is left confused by this, the two Sonics proceed to fight, during which the evil Sonic is knocked towards a tree, causing several burning branches to fall on top of him and catch fire. However, the evil Sonic doesn’t seem to be bothered by this and keeps walking towards them like nothing is happening. Just then, the fire burns off the evil Sonic's skin and fur, revealing a metallic shell underneath. The ruse over, he reveals his true name as Metal Sonic, a robotic double of Sonic created from a combination of Sonic's DNA via one of his quills and Sonic's personal data, made to surpass the original Sonic in every way possible. He then escapes with the rest of his Chaos Generals to search for the Emeralds to complete his plan. Now aware of the true threat, Sonic and his friends, along with Dr. Eggman and his lackeys, begin their journey to search for the seven Chaos Emeralds and stop Metal Sonic once and for all.

Sonic X was what got me into Sonic in the first place! I remember the first episode I ever saw was the Knuckles-centric episode in season 1, and then right after it was the one in the jungle with the monkey robot. Memories!!
I remember watching 4Kids a lot back in the day. Summer of 2006 my older sister and Cusion died in a car accident. I remember my parents told me the news on a Saturday morning because All I wanted to do afterwards was escape into cartoons. I don’t think it was that day but soon after was the episode Cosmo sacrificed herself and Tails pulling the trigger made me ugly cry. 23 years old I re watch that episode to see if I would have a reaction to it and sure enough I was fighting back tears.

Absolutely heartbroken there's no Sonic X nostalgia resurgence in sight. Regardless of quality, it was one of the first anime I watched subbed, becoming aware of the 4Kids dubbing practices, and along with Tokyo Mew Mew was one of my gateway series to the subbed market.
I'm still legit haunted by Cosmo, Emeral and that Maria 0.2 pilot girl's tragic deaths, and I can't talk to anyone about it because it's Sonic freaking X.

Great video, Sonic X was probably made me a sonic fan and got me invested into the Sonic universe as whole, especially Sonic Heroes was the first sonic game I played.
While I do think Sonic X is not perfect I still think has some nostalgia towards it and rewatches it definitely brings back memories!
Sonic X was amazing. Made me feel like the blue hedgehog was actually fast. That racing episode between Sonic and the guy with tiny wheels on essentially a jet plane was what introduced me to it.

Sonic x was my childhood. I watch the Japanese version now and it is a lot better eng ver. I loved Season 3 it is the season that I remember fondly from my childhood. Also, It is a unique story that I can not get anywhere else in the franchise. I love Cosmo’s character and her relationship with Tails. Her death was heartbreaking and memorable, I cried at the ending. It is not perfect but I love it dearly.

i literally just recently started rewatching this series, the timingg
while the game sonic colors was introduction to sonic, i consider sonic x my true introduction to sonic since it is what introduce me to alot of the series main elements, such as its extended cast, the chaos emeralds, and the storylines of the adventure games.
for me this show is no guilty pleasure , its genuinely of my favorite cartoons even if its not perfect.

Ahh Sonic X was a big part of my childhood and my favorite Saturday morning cartoon!~Season 2 being my favorite since it was basically a Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 animation! ❤
I actually heard about Sonic from this anime for the first time. I woke every morning at 7/8 am just to watch it on Saturdays when I was 7. I was a kid who hated to wake up early, I usually woke up at 11 am so imagine how much I loved it. They looked like classic cartoons like the Looney Tunes but with actual plot and chemistry/personalities that weren't ''hitting each other for fun''.
Tails was my favorite because I loved foxes, he's cute and smart (and he still is and I still love them). Then I realized that Sonic had games and I played CD and the rest is history.

Adapting the game stories was a good idea, since if you wanna get into Sonic you can learn a fair amount of stuff before jumping into any of the titles by just checking out some of season 2! It's pretty much the only one to attempt this too, so I'm curious how transitioning from say, Prime, Boom or the movies to the games is for new folks now

Blame the writers for bad translation. Instead of crap or darn, they went for a more literal translation and they didn't even realize it's vulgar in other regions. Not to mention Japanese Sonic does say a lot of random phrases in English especially "okay"

Some clarification on the Japanese season 3:
It was released well over a decade ago as direct-to-video, it just didn’t air on TV until recently. And it wasn’t just the voice acting, but the full Japanese version, which 4Kids changed and censored even more than the first two seasons. Probably the biggest hit to it was the final battle and Cosmo’s death, which were heavily toned down in the localization. The original version had Tails getting much more emotional as he and Cosmo outright say they love each other, and Tails breaks down crying as he blames Sonic for not being able to save her. Also, the part with Cosmo telling Sonic she’s still alive was added by 4Kids; the original dialogue was one last villain speech from Dark Oak.
I usually prefer dubs, but the Japanese version is just that much better in this case, especially for season 3.
Yeah. Japanese audio of Season 3 was released as a Chinese VCD set back in 2005 (before 4kids aired it).
4kids also cut out molly's death and shadow visiting molly's grave in the final episode.

I also feel like Chris needs a constant presence in his life since his parents are always gone and his Grandpa, his maid, and his butler are way too busy that they can't spend time with him.
While his friends do come on over they can't always come on over either.
Sonic and his friends especially Sonic change that up for him by being there for him no matter what but when that gets taken away it crushes Chris completely.
I absolutely adore Chris' friendship with Sonic, by the way. :)

In fact, this is an unpopular opinion but even though I wish that Sonic and his friends had more screen time in the first two seasons.
I prefer the first two seasons more so than the third season.
I just love seeing Sonic and his friends actually live on Earth and interacting with the humans.
In fact, the first season is my main favorite because it's so cool actually seeing Sonic and his friends play baseball or go to the beach or go on a cruise or go to the mall or find The Chao Garden or go to a haunted house etc. with Chris, his family, and friends.
