I loved Kirby Right Right Back at Ya. It was a simple yet great show. This show and Sonic Underground were just some of my favourites to watch on a Saturday morning.
I'm a preschool teacher and my younger sister (who is 27) gave me her plush kirby because she doesn't want it in her room anymore. I put kirby in my classroom and it's kind of interesting being the one to introduce who/what kirby is to 4 year olds who don't know what it is. For my class, kirby is a stress relieving toy, a toy plush to play with, a toy that watches the class to see if they are behaving, etc.
I love this show's animation. It has very impressive CGI effects that you really didn't see in anime back in the day. It was really ahead of it's time.
I cannot see it not getting a blu ray English Dub complete collection version. The show is way too popular, and it already got an English Dub release on DVD. I would say sometime next year or within a couple of years. It can take time to dub shows.
Maybe it's cuz some people would want a uncut release with JPmusic instead of the original 4Kids dub but most of the VAs are likely off doing something else or in Chef Kawasaki's case, dead.
King Dedede really did steal the show bc he was such a lovable jerk but moments where he actually showed to care for Kirby were really wholesome moments in the show
This show meant SO MUCH to me as a kid. It got me through so much hardship in my life at the time. Hell, because of this show, I checked out the games, and fell in love with them too. Now I'm in my 30s, and Kirby is still my favorite character in anything ever. Just looking at him makes me so happy.
Kirby, Kirby, Kirby! That’s a name you should know! Kirby, Kirby, Kirby! He’s the star of the show! He's more than you think! He's got maximum pink! Kirby, Kirby, Kirby's the one! He comes right back at ya! He comes right back at ya! Give it all that you've got! Take your very best shot! He'll send it right back at ya for sure, yeah! [NME Salesman:] "How can I help you, King Dedede?" [Dedede:] "I need a monster to clobber that there Kirby!” [NME Salesman:] "That's what we do best at NME!" [Escargoon] “You'd better get it with a money back guarantee!!" [Singer] Oh, Kirby, Kirby, Kirby, saving the day! Kirby, Kirby, Kirby, he's here to stay! Don't be fooled by his size! You won't believe your eyes! Kirby! (Kirby!) Kirby! (Kirby!) Kirby! (Kirby!) Kirby, Kirby, Kirby’s the one! Right back at ya! YEAH!!
I revisited this show a couple years back because I had vague memories of it from when I was little and what sold it for me was the fact that they gave Metaknight a spanish accent. I got the most enjoyment from that accent alone and what made it even better was that you never knew when he was going to show up! It was perfect! Also I'm seriously considering buying the series boxset if and when it hits my part of the US.
I believe it's because of the action elements in the games and anime that let Kirby draw in fans of both genders despite being cute and pink, which would normally be associated with being girly. It also probably helps that his ability to transform into multiple different new forms that give him a wide array of powers and, being a fairly gender neutral design despite being cute and pink helps to balance these elements out in my opinion
Yeah, men enjoy his versatility and immense power, while women love his cuteness and demeanor. And it’s all wrapped in a simple, inoffensively designed character who doesn’t even talk. Kirby is basically the closest we get to character perfection.
I think the best thing about this series is the fact that the main threat is Nightmare Enterprises, or NME. In other words, the main threat is literally called "Enemy" which is such a fantastic pun.
This show is very special to me. A lot of my growth as a writer + artist came from creating fan works for this series! I haven't had the inspiration lately, but I hope one day I can finish one of the stories I've been chipping away at for years lol
The one-two-three punch of Melee, this, and Kirby's Air Ride really cemented my love for Kirby as a kid. I love the malleability of his powers. Any medium with superpowers in it, I always gravitate towards characters whose power is something to do with superpowers itself. Stealing powers, boosting powers, negating powers. And yes, copying powers. Kirby was likely a big contributor to that, now that I think about it. I never had an N64 growing up, but I have really fond memories of watching my friend play Kriby and the Crystal Shards, and it's still one of my favorite games of all time today.
Like others said who couldn’t forget this. What was also new is it one of some animated shows that had a definitive ending. No sudden cancellation or abrupt end. It just ended in a satisfying end
Omg I use to watch this show at my grandmother's place when she mostly raised my little brother and I when we were little. The only episode I can remember from the show was the one involving King DDD giving everybody TVs to hypnotize/brainwash them.
10:14 Funny thing is when it premiere on kidswb i had soccer practice in the morning so i asked and reminded my parents (mostly my dad since he was gonna be home during that time) to record the special and lucky for me he was able to and except for the first ten minutes due to some issue with the recorder but was still glad he did, not to mention it record all the old commercials that showed that time 😂
One of my most fond memories of my childhood was actually renting the Fight to the Finish on my local redbox by my McDonald’s I watched it so much so this series will always have a special place in my heart
I ate this show UP as a kid. I was (and still am) a big Kirby fan so giving me an entire show to watch was basically trying to hold my attention hostage. Upon rewatching a good amount of episodes I still feel like it holds up. I do have some issues like the star warrior lore not being as fleshed out as I thought it could've been and Kirby feeling a lot more like a background character until the monster showed up despite being the title character but overall still a charming show I hold dear to me. Also nothing will ever come close to the masterpiece that was 4KIDS Dedede. He was the true star of the show or should I say "king of the show".
What did you watch it on? Also is it the original or the dub that 4kids made that removes or replaces a lot of things? Like kirby mixing up some alcohol or using an uzi? Or king dedede using an actual freaking chainsaw and not a laser!
As a massive Kirby fan, I’ve watched this show multiple times back in 2017-2018. Watched the English dub first, then the original Japanese with English subtitles. Loved both of them. Made a ton of fan art during those years too. My favorite character was (and still is) Escargon/Escargoon. I just have a lot of fun memories with this show and I occasionally still draw the characters from it. Awesome video reminding me about one of my favorite shows! 😉
I never had the chance to "officially" watch the series (aside from the 3 episodes on the 20th anniversary disc), but i LOVED the series so much. Even binged it with my sis. Fond memories of a great series!
I could never forget about the Kirby show I was even thinking about watching the rest of the episodes soon everything about Kirby is awesome of the video games, The show, The characters and the actors! I can even remember the whole entire lyrics of right back at ya and most of the characters too, This show just brings out a lot of happiness and funny and special moments for me, This show for me will be remembered for a long time as a kid classic and as a awesome memory of mine Kirby is indeed the one!
Kirby is one of my long time favorites of the Nintendo gaming era and Kirby right back at ya ( Kirby of the stars in Japan) was a guilty pleasure of mine in the Foxbox TV era on Saturday morning
I loved Kirby right back at ya it was one of my favorite shows growing up and now I'm riding an awesome fanfic that continues with a story left on. It's mainly going to be based on Kirby's return to Dreamland and Kirby's Dreamland 2.
I need to give this show a rewatch someday. Really underrated! A shame it didn’t go on for as long as Pokémon but nothing will ever be as popular as that, let’s be honest.
I remember watching this show a ton when I was younger during the original run. Didn’t know about Fright to the Finish until years later when the show popped up in my head and I wanted to reminisce and watch said show again. It’s such a fun time watching, and hearing familiar voices like Mike Pollock (Eggman) just makes me chuckle lol.
I love this show. I always come back to this show just to watch it to make me feel good, it's my comfort show seeing Kirby and his friends go in these little wacky adventures with these monsters of the week. And this show really knows how to make me feel my favorite episode being When Kirby got the little toy dog it made me smile and it made me cry I love the show and I'm planning to show it to many in the future.
Where to begin...Kirby Right Back At Ya! Was my favorite Saturday morning cartoon during the mid-2000s. I even wrote a journal entry about it for school once. "Hand me another bag of them chips!"
Thanks, Jordan, for covering yet another 4Kids TV gem, bro! I owe you one, man! This was my childhood back in the day! And I'm trying not to sound old, but yeah, I really love the series and I really do hope that due to the success of the Mario movie this year, that Nintendo do the same for Kirby and give the series a big fully CGI feature film from Illumination and make it apart of an NCU (Nintendo Cinematic Universe) and even have it include a Metroid movie, too! That'd be sweet to see and even F-Zero could get a chance for redemption with a movie as well! There's just so many possibilities! It's so amazing and I love it!
I loved this show! I just rewatched it in both languages online somewhere a few years back. I wonder if any dvd copies in English will ever exist? I'd buy a complete box set in a heartbeat!
I don't remember MUCH of the show. But I remember one specific episode where King DeeDeeDee kept saying "Dee dee dee, you like me. Dee dee dee, you trust me." My brother and I thought this was hilarious
I truly love the Kirby anime series and watched every episode online before UA-cam purged them all Before the days of the internet I remember reading a Nintendo Power magazine that turned the two first episodes into a comic and then I saw the actual anime on TV and fought tooth and nail to watch it whenever it aired Even if the dubbing was a bit sub par Dedede truly was the star of the show with his iconic voice and laugh, my biggest gripe was actually being there for the “lost episodes” that never aired on TV until they magically resurfaced years after the fact, I’ll never forget trying to find Shell Shocked dubbed online in my youth In the end truly a dream come true
Man I loved this show so much growing up but like most cartoons from that era I rarely if ever got to watch them in any kind of order and often missed episodes altogether. I really hope they do release that collection in the US so I can revisit some real nostalgia from my childhood.
This was the first anime I ever finished. It holds a special place in my heart! I know both the 4kids and original JP themes from memory thanks to watching the sub and dub religiously. Good times
I didn’t watch this show as it aired, but I did marathon the whole thing a couple years after its conclusion. I still vividly remember how absolutely wild that finale was.
This show was my first introduction to the pink puffball. (I didn't know the games were a thing at the time.) My next introduction to Kirby would be with his inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Melee. (I wouldn't play my first Kirby game until Star Allies. Although, I did recently beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land.)
This show actually was one of the few I was endered to growing up. I was always a Kirby main in smash so seeing our pink ball on TV was great. I remember the show being funny and entertaining as the rest. What a time to be kid it was! Also that them gets me hyped everytime!
I love this show - wish it was officially dubbed on bluray. The cooking reality show episode was my favorite and even my mom would sit down laughing at that episode.
that episode was one of a handful i watched (once) on kabillion, with my only other exposure to the kirby franchise besides that being a copy of super star ultra on the ds.
I would bluray set for myself so I can watch the show in it entirely, I couldn't watch all espidoes back because lack of tv service and what channel. Being a kid for me was interesting.
Actually all things considered I'd call this one of their best dubs, yeah they still do their small edits that make no sense but it does'nt get in the way of the story, and they did'nt cut entire episodes from the anime just bizarrely moved them around which isn't really an issue these days now that we can see it online. The smaller things they did don't bother me infact sometimes it's so obvious that it's hillarious like the good old Jelly Filled Donuts. Their bigger bad habits were much more irritating for me.
I had a dvd set of this as a kid! My poor parents would have to listen to hours of kirby on the portable dvd player whenever we would go on roadtrips... that and pingu
I largely ignored the games until the show came out. After that, I picked up Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland (GBA), and have been a fan of the pink puffball ever since

I loved Kirby Right Right Back at Ya. It was a simple yet great show. This show and Sonic Underground were just some of my favourites to watch on a Saturday morning.
How could I forget the masterpiece of voice acting that is Dedede and Escargoon
How could I forget Kirby voring an entire watermelon? 😂
Dedede will always sound like Colonel Sanders to me
Don’t forget Chef Kawasaki too!
Fun fact, it’s the same actor for both of them.
Greetings from Kirby Abrdged!

I cannot see it not getting a blu ray English Dub complete collection version. The show is way too popular, and it already got an English Dub release on DVD. I would say sometime next year or within a couple of years. It can take time to dub shows.
It does exist, although only in Japan
I'd like that. Blu-ray collection to maybe they can do a fandom and use the dub from the original anime. We have so far two cover over it?
Maybe it's cuz some people would want a uncut release with JPmusic instead of the original 4Kids dub but most of the VAs are likely off doing something else or in Chef Kawasaki's case, dead.

The intro, the show, the epicness!
Also, there were a short video on the 3DS, Kirby fought against a giant lobster by becoming an ice warrior.

Probably tied with Netflix's Castlevania as one of the best shows based on an video game.

I was so damn obsessed with playing Kirby air ride as a kid with my cousin. It was so damn fun not to mention the handheld games.

the accent was so iconic, even his smash bros VA gave him one.
And you knew he meant business when he showed up because he. *insert guitar here* he had a theme tune that played whenever he appeared.

I love this show - wish it was officially dubbed on bluray. The cooking reality show episode was my favorite and even my mom would sit down laughing at that episode.
@@connorj1165 what do you mean you don’t think their not gonna get em all?
that episode was one of a handful i watched (once) on kabillion, with my only other exposure to the kirby franchise besides that being a copy of super star ultra on the ds.
Come on, Discotek Media, get the license and give us a remaster of the english dub! 😭
I would bluray set for myself so I can watch the show in it entirely, I couldn't watch all espidoes back because lack of tv service and what channel. Being a kid for me was interesting.
14:36 I always dreamed of a complete Blu-ray set of the English dub, but… oh god, don’t give me hope
Well, there's always Discotek Media, an US distributor which distributes 4Kids' shows like Sonic X!
Kirby has always been one of my favorite Nintendo characters, if not the favorite. The show was very good, even with 4kids meddling.
I don't even like 4kids but yet I love kirby right back at ya and sonic x
JORDAN!! Yes You've Brought One of the Titans Of The FoxBox/4KIDSTV. I loved this Cartoon and grew up with it as a kid.
I consumed every one of these episodes actually, thanks in part of how colourful the characters were
Those FOX Box transitions awoke memories that have laid dormant for YEARS...
I had a dvd set of this as a kid! My poor parents would have to listen to hours of kirby on the portable dvd player whenever we would go on roadtrips... that and pingu
This show is one of my favorites from my childhood and I always enjoy rewatching it every couple years.
I largely ignored the games until the show came out. After that, I picked up Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland (GBA), and have been a fan of the pink puffball ever since
Retro Crush should add this to their service and live channel since they have Cromartie High School, Tenjo Tenge and Law of Ukei. Same for Pluto TV.
I used to watch it before going to school. This show cemented my love for Kirby 💕
Loved this anime as a teen. Great one
This show was adorable!
