I was fortunate enough to see it on Broadway a few weeks ago and while I did not have to give up my kidney I suspect it would have been worth it. One of the best theatre experiences of my life. I've been a fan of this musical for 40 years, following it through all its many "cool concept, great songs, but it doesn't quite work" variations, but they finally cracked it, and a huge part of it is this cast. Amazing.
Daniel could’ve never worked another day in his life, yet he chooses to completely throw himself into projects because he loves his craft. It’s awesome to see.
I first saw him in Mindhunter and put him on my radar. Now I’m jealous of the fact he can act and sing?!!! 😂😂 I’m looking forward to seeing his career continue!

We seriously need a proshot of this show- this cast is so good and so many of us aren’t going to be able to see it before they close the run. But seriously- rooting for them for the Tonys!
A pro-shot was done for the London version in 2014 and was recently released for streaming-so sadly unless for legal reasons unaware to us, a pro- shoot of this is unlikely.
They sounded great, but they looked a little bit like deer trapped in the headlights. My guess is because there's probably some sort of choreography number here and they're not used to doing it without.
The whole production has an incredibly beautiful "family" feel to it, with everyone involved really caring for and supporting one another. You can really feel it in the theater!
Did you notice how much the woodwind players had to switch off? They're constantly putting down one horn, picking up another for a few bars, going back to the first, going to a third, and so forth. They need to be able to sound like symphony players one second, and like big band jazzers the next. Probably another Sondheim hallmark - as well as arguments set to music, involving difficult headlong vocal lines and song structures full of jump-cuts in tempo and key.

Remember, he had orchestrated the original Broadway production, for a much bigger orchestra, so no doubt he pushed the "pit" musicians' fabled versatility to the limit for this scaled-back instrumentation. Astonishing that his richly-deserved Tony for Merrily was the first he had ever received for orchestrating a Sondheim musical!
Well, one of his first big singing roles was in How to Succeed in Business (Without even trying) so he kinda cut his teeth in that style. Yes, he did some singing prior, but it's a very specific style.. And Sondheim is generally that vibe too. In any case, Daniel's managed to impress on the stage and screen for many years, and being with Groff probably elevated his game some too.

We need some generous people to ensure that acoustic musicians (in large numbers) and also dancers (in large numbers) are REGULARLY part of shows on Broadway - and touring the US. And also people who will back the creation and production of ORIGINAL musicals (as distinct from musicals which make a narrative from past pop hits) on Broadway and beyond.

Daniel Radcliffe just blows me away. I never saw any Potter movies, but I saw How to Succeed and Equus and then I saw Victor Frankenstein and now Merrily He is a PHENOMENAL actor!!!!
I saw the show back in February, and it deserves every award it's nominated for and more! (And that's coming from someone who isn't normally a big Sondheim fan.) And a huge "thank you" to The Late Show and whoever at CBS made the decision to spring for the full band: it adds so much to the number, and is a reminder of Broadway's great orchestral talent!
Wish Sondheim could have lived to see this. It's a great show and was from the start but now everybody knows it thanks to this wonderful cast and production.

This show is EVERYTHING! This is a more subdued version as on stage they’re dancing and running around about, but every time they sing this, I cry my eyes out! The chumminess, the realness , the fun, the CHEMISTRY onstage is infectious, heartwarming, and so sweet, Dan is now part of another ICONIC TRIO and I’m HERE FOR IT! Here’s to them! The love and fun these three share on the stage (based on what I've seen on video) and in interviews is like an oasis in a desert. So refreshing and life giving!
Dan is honestly phenomenal, he’s grown so much as an actor over the last couple of years, and as someone who loves musical theater, seeing him playing either the lead or one or the other leads in the show only makes me love it more, Dan is also my favorite actor of all time so I’m a little biased lol 😂
A classic Sondheim musical and I know Tony awards were given for this play. I love this performance - charming it is! Daniel Radcliffe sure has come a long way! Yay for him and for Jonathan Groff!

I was so lucky to catch this show last year and i’m so impressed Lindsay is now doing it 8x a week while pregnant. love this cast, absolutely perfect.

I was prepared for him to be iffy but he’s great in the show. Lots of physical comedy in addition to the singing. They are a great cast.
