As referenced in the movie, it’s a “peasant dish” and vegetables are way cheaper than meat ergo the veggie dish Leveled up by Remy 🙂 🐀
@play gray it was collette (the girl) who said the line :)
Anyway, just pointing out the possible reason why it was mostly composed of veggies :)
@play gray you do realize that this dish exists outside of the movie..........right?
@play gray so how should I use my meat ?
@@danig4338 why feel the need to explain why something is made of just vegetables? It doesn’t require explanation. It’s delicious food period and eating vegetables is totally normal. Lol
@@teshamiller6001 “as referenced in the movie”
Im very surprised at how many people didnt think this was a vegetable dish.
yeah xddd, the movie literally shows colette cutting the vegetables, besides what kind of food can be cut that thin and stay firm other than zucchini, carrots etc
@@juanfeliperojas5754 When I was little I thought it was something like salami since the only thing I'd ever seen sliced like that before was salami.
SALAMI! HO!
Nobody seemed to pickup on when even Collette mentioned how it was a Peasant Dish too. Peasant dishes don't usually have meat.
It’s because the majority of those people were children

@@NoOneIsSafeInTheEnd brocolli it's great! I don't know what it's the "ewww" for.
yes.. 6 hours later you could enjoy this lovely dish. but you might be too tired to eat
ماهر وحكيم Are you saying that there is actual people who are "too tired to eat"????
you mean too tired to make
What do you mean by six hours later? Don't know if that's a joke, but I once made ratatouille and it only took me two hours to make and prep (which is average for anything else I have to cook and bake).
It's fantastic. It shows that you can do almost anything using any ingredients doing any kind of dish. It's what I try to show my friends that aren't confident in the kitchen. Simple stuff and technique resulting in a wonderful variaty of outcome. Using meat and vegetables it can be a meal. Using very simple alterations this could be an apple cake. Do you know a basic lasagna recipy? Use noodles instead of lasagna plates. Instead of beef - use chicken or your old vegetables. Make in in a skillet with the lid on - do it in the oven. Slow cook it. It's like an omelet - probably one of the most diverse dishes. You can put anything in it. Like a sandwich! Put an omelet in a sandwich! The combinations are endless.
isnt this to be a simple french recipe ماهر و حكيم - maher & hakim

Well they clearly chose the dish for the film for that reason.... I mean duh.... but it's obviously a real dish... Where in the film does Remy, or his human friend say "I'm gonna name this dish.... Respect for your effort to actually make one. I'm just watching and can not get myself to makes one
It tastes amazing, especially ratatouille provençale where the vegetables are cooked in a pan separately, and with the oil it is pretty greasy and it is really good
I mean, you can just add an extra layer of pepperoni or sausage. It won’t be like the movie but it will probably taste good
*Laser* *Cat* I don’t think that would be a good mix
You probably didn't use enough sauce. It's rather bland if it's not saucy enough.
The question is not about 'how to make it?'
The question is 'who will eat if I make it?'

There's a lot of comments here from people saying they found out from this video that ratatouille is a vegetarian dish, and that this fact is disappointing.... And that weirds me out.
First it's weird that so many didn't already know that ratatouille is veggies only, and second it's weird that a dish would be "EEEW" only due to the fact that it doesn't contain meat. 😂😂😂
And just for the record, I am not a vegetarian.
well wat can i say veges eww but meat id eat that stew
Mikael Karlsson Damn straight. Some people are thick. If it's delicious what's not to like?
I just dont like the texture, and the taste of most vegetables. So I could imagine what it might taste like. It's eww. And before anyone assume that I just dont cook it right, my mom always cooks veggies with a lot of spices and herbs and sometimes meat aka. asian style vegetables and most people would like it. Maybe I just dont like vegetables in general.
Mikael Karlsson they say “EEW” about vegetables, even though they eat someone’s dead flesh, eyes & assholes mixed in their sausages and blood every day and drink other mammal’s milk which contains cow’s pus and blood. Most of the dead flesh eaters are really dumb.
Found the angry vegan.

Real. Cooking. Takes. TIME. Love recipes like this. I am personally annoyed by all the "cooking" I see on my facebook feed in the form of "Tasty" videos. That's not reall cooking to me. But dishes like this are. Real effort is put into the dish, and effort equals love which equals a dish beyond satisfying. People think they need quick "dessert using nasty pillsbury dough #9012". No people. Cook something real and taste the difference! You'll never go back, trust me.
YES!! Those "Tasty" videos make something difficult seem easy. Yet true cooking is the other :-way around. Real cooks use technique to make something so simple taste so delicious. :)
+Eric Andal #preach!
+Eric Andal Hey the tasty videos are fun! meant to be "easy" cooking for most people. Personally I've made a few of their recipes and it's nice occasionally. But this is fantastic, credit to the guy for making some really nice food, definitely a recipe I'll bookmark for the future
+Eric Andal they are snack recipe or recipes make easy. they never claimed themselves true cooking or such. just chill
+Eric Andal I see where you're coming from and agree with you, but in today's world where so many people "can't cook" or "don't have time", those tasty videos are probably a good idea, and might even inspire some people to get into cooking! I absolutely adore cooking that takes time, effort, and patience. However, sometimes I like looking at simple recipes to get new ideas and inspiration from.

As a kid I once tried to make ratatouille by taking slices of cucumber and putting them in a small clear plastic cup with tomato soup in it. I was like 8 or 9 at the time, and even though I knew it likely wasn’t made that way, I was still willing to try it. It might’ve even been good...if I’d remembered to heat it up before taking a sip, that is.
