This is my genuine experience of building habits. A few months ago, I used to binge eat a lot, even though I knew it was pseudo hunger. Then, I figured out why I was binge eating and identified the root cause of the problem. I wasn't drinking enough water; earlier, I only drank 1L of water a day, which made me feel hungry all the time. So, I decided to change my bad habit by drinking more water at least 3.5-4 liters a day. After implementing this new habit for about a week, it has changed my life ever since.
