Lyrics:
I've been around for you
I've been up and down for you
But I just can't get any relief
I've swallowed my pride for you
I've lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin' your love away
'Cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we can't relive it
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly

This brings me back to H.S. and the memories I made with all my friends. Partying, bonfires, fast cars, no cell phones, just living in the moment. Break-ups, movie theaters, skanking rinks. Knowing who your neighbors were . Those were the best days of my life. Seems it’s all changed way more than my liking.
HS still sounds like that just without skanking rinks and knowing your neighbors 😭😭🙏🙏
Class 1980
We must have gone to the same high school lol
No bullets to worry about!
My neighbor in Belleville, Illinois was Mr. Neal Doughty/ keyboards & co- founder of REO Speedwagon! When i was 13 yrs. old he taught me how to play the piano! We lived on Cambridge Drive. He lived #8 & i lived #23. I still play the piano @ 69 yrs. old. "Rock N' Roll Forever... He has brother's -Mark & Mike & Randy! Mark- Rest In Peace.🙏 4/4/2024
Back when being young was fun. Lots of keg parties and reo playing The good ole days are gone.
Yes they are and don't think great times like then will ever happen again! We are so lucky to really in enjoy the best of times!
I'm 58 years old...REO was my band back in the day. Trust me, the good ole days are not gone. This classic music lives on, and we can listen to it anytime we want to. Remember...rock and roll never dies! Have you heard of Greta Van Fleet...the young rock band from Michigan? They have resurrected the classic rock sound...a brilliant, talented band of brothers. Check out their album 'The Battle at Gardens Gate' and their latest album 'Starcatcher'. Both are epic albums! Be prepared to be amazed. I discovered this band in 2017 thanks to my daughter who first told me about them. Since then, I have seen them four times live in concert. Give them a listen and watch some of their live videos on UA-cam. Greta Van fleet has an arsenal of killer songs! Rock and roll lives on!✌️🤘🤘🤘
Every band in the world wishes they could perform live as well as R.E.O.
the truth!
My husband met REO in Carbondale, IL before they came famous!!
Wow, Kevin’s voice still sounds great!
One of the best break-up songs ever.
Fuck me, this song is as old as these dudes but the voice and all other songs fresh as ice! Dammit, it’s like there wasn’t fiftysomething years playing. Unbelievable!
A lot of these bands just keep kicking ass.age is just a number.
Prob in his 60's but Kevin still looks great.lot of the others wish they could look as good as him.
RIP Gary Richrath🙏
Always gonna be one of my favorite songs, i picked for the Class of 1986 Decatur Raiders from Decatur Michigan....
He still sounds wonderful
I was 19 and playing in my first band in 1978, I played this song at my best friend's funeral in 1980.
I cry every time I hear or see this and I come back often. Love you Tommy
Hope you're alright now, terry
Im sorry for your loss.. thats hard!
🕊️🤍🤍✨✨
Rock and roll is in my soul and REO Speedwagon is too been listening to them for well over forty years
My baby nephew would always calm down listening to REO 😊
my favorite break-up song of all time. Used those words on a lot of soon-to-be-ex girlfriends in the early 80s.
Been watching These guys for over 30 years, yeah they still got it, go boomers!
REO Speedwagon brought me here. Go Kevin!
Had the pleasure of seeing REO 5 times from the 1970s- present. Great band to see live.

REO is and always had been my favorite band. Their music has gotten me through so many major events in my life; moving 1500 miles from Connecticut to Texas, divorce from my 1st husband, brought me together with my 2nd husband and chemo therapy. We go to see them at least once a year if not more. Whenever they are performing within a 700 mile range from Austin, TX, we are there. Have tickets for 2 shows this November that i can't wait to see. Definitely by then, it will be "Time For Me to Fly". ❤❤
Sending you Blessings Val for a Full recovery for whatever your heart desires! Hugs!
Keep Pushing, keep pushin on ...
🙏🙏🙏🙏
My heart and prayers are with you Val.
Same. Prevented my suicide in early 80’s. Truth
❤ REO speedwagon.
this dude is a stud. No idea how old he is but he's still rocking even with his dentures and everything (:
That dude is the best!
Kevin was around 70 when I saw REO last year. He had more energy than I did! The whole band was rockin' it!
I totally agree.
He's 71. Worked as crew on their show last year and met Kevin. Still down to Earth, still humble.... Still awesome
😂🤘
Come on Rock & Roll HOF - you know what you need to do!!!
That voice, No missing that! And that thumb on the frets!
Hi Susan
I've alwaya loved REO Speedwagon

To be fair, this was recorded 12 years ago. He has dropped off quite a bit.
Absolutely beautiful!
That was so frikin great I can't even believe it!!
Let's all say goodbye to the 21st Century-(which didn't start for me until 2010)-Its Time For Me To Fly, back Home 1980s & '90s again.
Kevin sounds great, they are all phenomenal! Still giving their all for their fans.
Awesome …. Great seeing you Dave Amato … it’s been too long !!!!
Saw REO open for Pat Benetar in about 1981 both were big acts back then
I tell you Kevin Cronin has lots to be proud of, that guy not only has been performing and composing music for such a long time, he's a fantastic artist / talent.
I so admire Kevin, how can i not be inspired by a musician , a man who has created so much for so long. What a great talent Kevin is.
Cool!
This is it THE CREATOR OF THE SPEEDWAGON FOUNDATION!!!!
Great band and great sound!!!!!!
I love you all
Is this your favorite
I took my wife and my mother (god rest her soul) to see REO SPEEDWAGON, STYX and FOREIGNER in KC, Mo in 1999. Great concert and great memories.
Ozark! Truth be told REO’s music doesn’t require a double bass drum set up!
🤣😂Drummers!!!
It's funny how people rag on music and it's actually music that they listen to isn't that funny?
@@jospehfager7646 I’m just glad no one in this thread ragged on REO’s music, aren’t you?
WOW, your voices sound just the same as they did back in the 80s when you were the sound track to my young romantic life. So many memories come flooding back every time I listen to you guys. Still on my top 10 list of great nostalgic music. 🥰
Perfectly Said 🌹
To see them live would be a dream come true
37 times seeing y'all in concert. MASSIVE LOVE
I've seen them close to 80 times and have tickets for 2 shows in November (shows that were postponed from May) that i am really looking forward to. 👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

AWESOME 😍
Heard this song on a classic rock station last week, went home and watched the original music video then found this gem - man! It made my weekend. Have watched this too many times to admit to now :D
Anyone else think this is still the greatest song ever in 2021?
❤love this song 🎧 😢
Dave Amato shreds whenever given a chance.

Do ends young and beautiful like I went back in time
First date my wife of 40 years & I went on in '81 was a REO concert. They still sound great.
I’m pretty sure they used this live audio for that one ozark episode. Glad I found the original on UA-cam. Spectacular
Yeah I think so, this is from their 2010 Live From Moondance Jam Album. Idk why they didn’t actually sing, considering they had their whole setup on Ozark.
The very first reo speedwagon song I ever heard in my entire life
Koval Fetterer look into more of their catalogue
Great album and one of the best songs ever!

REO brought me flying here to fly
Never knew Kevin played the acoustic part in Open D tuning using his thumb across what looks like just the EADG (DBDF#) strings. Brilliant!
LOVE REO.. Takes me back in time when I had the love of my life.. I believe my true soul mate with me. He's gone now. My heart wants him back. I know we will be together in the next life

These Guys are Awesome
🙏🏾I need/wish to be this talented
Never thought much of this song, until Zach Young said it was his favorite. Now it's my favorite!
New Year's Eve 1980 was my first time seeing and hearing REO Speedwagon live in Concert.
This was at Market Square Arena and one of MANY concerts I'd attend in the coming months & years there!
One of many things that really stick out about that night was when the stage rotated & Kevin's sitting at a white baby grand piano.
_I believe it was, "Can't fight this Feeling" & then "Keep on Loving You"_ That night the girls outnumbered us, boys! (A great thing, especially when Kevin graced us with these swan songs, the girls turned to sugar!)
Anyway, I was able to attend 3 concerts of theirs throughout the '80-'90s but this one on 12/31/1980 was one of my all-time events!
(Now Billy Squire wow! He got around on the stage! & that concert was mostly females! For every guy, there were 5 girls! lol)
*Great Times*
My next concert at MSA was *Rush* _Moving Pictures_! _3/11/1981_
I was always amazed of their music & that a 3 man band could sound so powerful!
And seeing and hearing them LIVE really showed how musically talented these guys were! (Not many girls at this gig though & wasn't expected.)
~
Needless to say, my concert-going days slowed in the late '90s and by 1999 I'd probably been to 4-5 dozens live events. Seen some great bands! At the beginning of the 21st Century I went to fewer concerts but more festivals! (Some fun times!)
Still have most of my ticket stubs (back when the tickets were works of art and not digital printed)!
~~
I digress and apologize for the rant of sorts. lol
_Keep Pushing!_ (I'm still lonely but will keep pushing on!)
*Thanks for this Live performance/share REO!*
Time for me to fly!
*_Truth, Peace, Freedom & L♥ve2ALL™_*
*James*
still a great voice :)
Hello friend
How are you doing today?
@@kennyisbell8944 Thing's arent or have gone well lately and I believe it's a curse now. (Or at least Murphy's Law dictating my last 2.5 decades.)
Log story short, not well today sorry to say.
_And how are you tonight?_
Do we know each other?
Needless to say, thanks for asking.
Be Well,
*James*
