I think the reason why the mother comes off as so creepy is because of how depressed she is her. She has this dead expression on her face and her black eyes just look very voidless. I believe that's because of how truly depressed she is, she was deprived from her joy, the child she had carried in her womb for several months so she is so affected that she really just comes off as a husk of her former self, which is what makes her so creepy, the lifelessness that she has. Although personally I don't find her creepy at all.

The reason he is sometimes censored is because it's representing how fucking destroyed his corpse was. He wasn't hit by a car. He was fucking obliterated by a car.
14:16 That reminds me of another Kikuo's song: "The day I was away from school". That song uses the same easy kanjis, and it's simpler and easier than this. But it's just as powerful and painful. (Maybe its simpleness make it so painful. Because you can think a lot of interpretations, and they could be right).
I know that the confirmed cause of death by Kikuo is a car/bike accident but when I read the lyrics I always thought he died in a tornado, especially with how much he mentioned the wind. "The coming parade plucked my soul out with a pair of tweezers and threw me away" After school, he rides his bike home either ignoring a tornado warning in the area, or the tornado was so fast and unexpected there was no time for a warning to be sent out before it hits the city/town "Melting with a drip drop I wonder where I'm going? Leaping through the sky I get caught inside the teeth of a music box" Inside the tornado he at first may feel like he is flying. He might refer to the tornado as an extremely loud "music box" because of all the clatter and noise from the debris and the wind "The music boxs trembling feels good" Again, the "trembling" is most likely the sheer force of the wind inside of the tornado as he's swept up inside of it. I'm not sure why he could think it feels good, but before shock disappears and panic sets in, he could feel happy that a dream most children have of flying in the sky is something he gets to do. "I get minced and chopped up with a pop, my body becomes small and I am scattered into pieces" Almost every death stemming from a tornado is either from falling to the ground after being swept up inside of it and dying on impact, however this is not the case as he is "minced and chopped up", so he is most likely being heavily beaten by large debris inside of the tornado repeatedly, such as furniture and large pieces of roof, wall, glass, etc. from destroyed homes; this can be indicated by "The houses disappear" line later on. His body is so small that even though a full adult can likely only die from falling on impact or large amount of head trauma from the debris inside, its more likely that his entire body is beaten, bruised, chopped and sliced by each and every piece of debris scattered inside the tornado. It is likely due to his age and size he could be literally ripped up or things like fingers and toes being chopped off by debris and scattering around into pieces. "The soldiers gunshots wont end, the performance wont end, the music box never stops" The soldiers gunshots can be seen as the clattering, banging, and howling of the wind that he could see as gunshots, as well as the airpressure in his ears making the popping/crackling sound. The performance wont end could be seen as him seeing himself as the "performance" of his prolonged death. Again, most deaths from tornados is strictly head trauma or falling out and dying on impact. "The music box keeps singing to the far ends of the land" The "music box", or, tornado, keeps "singing", or travelling and ripping up the city/town to the "far ends of the land" AKA. the outskirts of the city or maybe even the entire country/land. "Clang clang clang, pop pop pop, shing shing clatter" He is describing what he is hearing inside the tornado. The "pop pop pop" could be the crackling/popping sound you hear when you get to a high altitude in a rapid pace such as on a plane. This happens because of the air pressure difference on the outside of your body and the inside of your eardrums. "On my way home I rode down the big big hill, I passed through the narrow cracks in the narrow roads and for the first time I became the wind" He is recalling when he is first picked up by the tornado and he may have been trying to avoid it by going through the narrow roads inbetween houses to find a place to safely hide from it, too young to understand that you can't outrun (or outbike in this case) a tornado "Always going down that slope without an end, without a single trace of another person, the houses disappear and the powerlines bend and sway" Tornadoes can have large slopes to them, and this is pretty common with childrens drawings especially in the circle scribble style, just search up squiggle tornado drawing on google and you'll know what I mean. The houses are disappearing because the tornado is tearing them apart, with the powerlines in the ground "bending and swaying" as they are harder to be ripped out of the ground by the tornado. "Cut down by the wind, my body dissolves into red, and then I was gone with just my soul remaining along with the bicycle that never should have existed" Again, most, if not all deaths from being inside a tornado is only from head trauma from flying debris or getting outside of it and dying on ground impact. Being cut down by the wind probably means he's either dropped by the tornado and dies or the force of the wind inside it is so powerful he feels like he's dissolving as his brain cant keep up with how fast he's going around inside it. Either he himself, his parents, or both blame his bicycle for the accident, probably thinking "If he werent on his bicycle, he would have taken a different route home easier to walk through, and he couldve found a safe place to hide from the tornado", or maybe even "If he didnt have his bicycle and excitedly rode home, he wouldve waited a while at school, talked with friends and stayed long enough to get the tornado warning and hide", etc. The very end with him going "Pa pa pa pa pa, clatter clatter clatter, ma ma ma ma ma clatterer clatterer" could be him trying to say goodbye to his parents in his mind before he dies while being thrown around in the tornado, but is unable to think because of the noise of all the debris inside of the tornado "clatter clatter clatter, clatterering" around. Sorry for such a long wall of text but this was just really fun to interpret.
Your theory does make sense I like it. It's really nice when songs are quite vague in a way that you can interpret them because you can get fun stories with it
This song brings back intense emotions for me. When I was younger I used to listen to this song a lot whenever I thought about dying (i was suicidal) and it always ended up making me sob because I always ended up thinking about myself in the place of the parents, how I would feel if my child died so tragically. I always ended up crying harder because I'd think about my mother and how she would feel and it just hurt so much. And oddly enough this song was probably the reason why I didn't go through with it.
Also I love kikuo but I had absolutely no idea that kikuo made this song (because i listened to the one sung by kai kim), it just makes me love kikuo even more.
i know your comment is kind of old but it made me think of what it felt like dying during my own attempt. I remember looking at my dad as I was starting to lose consciousness and just feeling sad- not about dying, but that I felt like I was finally being freed from everything meanwhile his expression was that of someone watching their whole life fall apart, if that makes sense.
That makes it so sad that a child is mutilated in a freak accident and has to feel SOOO much pain, and has to even reassure his parents that the pain feels good, even thought you would have wanted to die sooner so you don't need to feel it, but this child was unlucky and couldn't even be spared the pain. This makes you reflect on how relatable and realistic this death is to most accidents in real life, and that songs can be as depressing as reality.
there is also many background sounds that's not "part of" the music, like the cranks, the bits of grinding, and sirens. which imply this whole song took place while the kid's body is being recovered from the wreck with his parents watching and the kid's soul trying to comfort them
Trigger warning for anyone w miscarriage situations but ur watching a kikuo video so My parents recently discovered they had a miscarriage and it was heartbreaking for them, so hearing this song and the theories about it hit deeper then ever. The line “mama bought me so many toys and comic books” made me tear up. Kikuo knows how to dive into your soul and rip out the walls surrounding it but in a artistic way.
El mismo sentimiento, mi hermano fallecio cuando estaba cerca de cumplir sus dos años, y ya habia traido una grande felicidad, especialmente a mi, ya que no estaba en mis mejores momentos...
The one thing that kinda messed me up on this was that in some parts of the song he was saying how good it felt to be dying- like at 10:19 it says "Who gave into the good feelings and threw myself away" or at 10:30 he said "Because I'm ashamed for having felt so good dying"
Im late but I think its bc he was enjoying dying bc he was enjoying going down the hill very fast on his bike before he died? Idk lol just an interpretation
@@theatresreyes2115that and that I think whenever your body experiences a big injury that you may never recover from it actually gives you a state of bliss, I remember reading it somewhere

Bonk! Shing! Shabadabadaba Trill, trill, goes the tremolo! Lalelula, tremololing, lalila Melting with a drip-drop, I wonder where I'm going? Leaping through the sky I get caught inside the teeth of a music box The music box's trembling feels good And I get minced and chopped up with a pop, pop My body becomes small And I scatter around into pieces My empty brains Melt together into a large star The soldier's gunshots won't end, the performance won't end The music box never stops The music box keeps singing out to the far ends of the land It's okay, everyone, if we become stars, we'll all get along Shining like a rainbow, the final moment of my soul Like pudding and gummy candy, shatters and melts into nothingness So... Don't look at me with those eyes, Mama Or I'll be embarrassed about dying (mama) The cute little me Who gave into the good feelings and threw myself away Don't look at me with those eyes, Papa Look away from the place where I died (papa) Because I'm ashamed for having felt so good while dying Clang, clang, pop! Clang, clang, pop! Shing, shing, clatter! Drip, drip, drop Trill, trill, goes the tremolo! Lalelula, tremololing, lalila Melting into white and drip-drip dropping away That afternoon, on my way home I rode down, down, down the big hill With my training wheels on I passed through the narrows cracks in the narrow roads For the first time, I became the wind And my heart was broken by the wind It felt so good Being shattered by the wind like that [Pre-Chorus] Always going down, down that slope without an end Without a single trance of another person The houses disappear, the power lines bend and sway Cut down by the wind, my body dissolves into red And then I was gone, with just my soul remaining Along with my bicycle that never should have existed Always, and forever Don't look at me with those eyes, Mama Because I'm no longer anywhere Mama bought me So many toy cars and comic books Don't look at me with those eyes, Papa It felt so good to disappear Even though Papa made me A music box and toy soldiers I'm no longer anywhere My soul disappeared into the world of dreams All of Mama's toys Happily melted together into nothingness I'm no longer anywhere Until we meet again in our dreams, farewell Papa's toy soldiers Are waving from under the lid of the music box [Post-Chorus] Pa, pa, pa, pa, pa, clatter Ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, clattererer Lalulelo, lulilelo, lalelo AND HE DOES DIE
I think this might be about the true story about a 13yo child who went to fast on a dirt bike called "Sebastian", 'hop along' also made a song about this called 'for Sebastian from a friend'.
this exact song is really calming compared to other kikuo's songs since it has a bit more of a slow pace, but the lyric absolutely WILL give you a mental breakdown if you think about it too much
Usually, vocaloids only hurt my soul as I dive into it deeper but this one... It left an ugly, painful smile and a permanent scar in my heart. Also tears, let's not forget that :'D
Hell is warm I sung to the song anyways since it's still one of my favorites! Also, I might recommend some 2 other Kikuo songs like "Breaking Things Into Pieces" and ""A Happy Death", they are both really amazing and both definitely have some death in it :)
Idc what anyone says a child's death and pet death are the most saddest things a song/movie/show/book can do and this song just put a pit in my stomach-- I already knew the child was gonna die way before the song finished and the subtitles because the child looked so happy and the parents were just very 'bleh' (??) looking in contrast...
Fr children and animals are the most fragile beings ever them dying would be horrifying they should be viewed as such any adult who don’t view them as such are plain dumb who have no braincells.
I listened to this song before and its really depressing. It's about a little boy who's about eight years old, was riding his bike and was hit by a car. He's explaining how it felt metaphorically. 😭😭😭 This song so so damn saddd kikuo makes me cryyyy
Aah so sad. Loved this reaction. You can always trust Kikuo to deliver the most saddest and messed up songs while still sounding amazing and catchy as hell!
This is my favorite Kikuo song, I wouldn’t say I’m happy that you reacted to it due to its dark story but your reactions are always funny so ty for reviewing this song 💀
This shit melted my heart in a bad way man... Like that one last comment made me a sick to my stomach type sad... Like it's I wanna rip my heart out but at the same time it's so gross to imagine but I feel so bad and it sounds so realistic idk how to explain it's like it sounds like an actual true story, ik some of his songs are true stories (I think) but that one sounds like an actual child death and it hurts...it just makes me think about life idk what it is but this made me shed a tear [almost]
I'll tell you what, Kikuo's music makes me feel something different, I've never been able to explain it and I don't think I ever will. You covered this perfectly, when I say that I mean it. These kinds of songs mean a lot to a lot of people, myself being one of them. If you like this one, you should definitely check out そして君わ月になった [and then you became the moon], its got a really dark story behind it and it has the same vibe of don't look at me in that way.
I really love this reactions (≧▽≦) For learning english I see the version with subtitles in spanish first, to obiusly, understand I'm so comfortable with this videos, thanx bro
Wait a minute, I missed one detail that I think everyone didn't notice. The kid didn't get hit by just a car,ITS HIS DAD'S. Okay but hear me out, look at the lyrics. "Mum bought me a toy car and comic books," "Papa made me a music box and toy soldiers," AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THE CHILD WAS SHREDDED INTO THE MUSIC BOX. Man,I missed this detail, why-
Did you see Dark Wood Circus yet? It's another creepy classic. There is another song by Kikuo i think that is more suitable for a Christmas season. I don't remember it rn but I'll edit the comment if I find the name Edit: it's called "And then you became the moon" by Kikuo
I never knew the bicycle accident was confirmed :0 Another popular interpretation of the song was that the child was aborted or a miscarriage, but the bicycle accident really does make more sense
Really? It didn't seem that way- if they had aborted him why is the bicycle in the music video and why did the parents give toys to him when they were going to abort him? But all interpretations are valid
@@blubin189 Some people do buy toys and stuff before the baby is born. There are various reasons that could happen in few months since early pregnancy, maybe be bankruptcy, health reason, etc.
@@PasserbySimp Thank you so much for clarifying on the toy part. But what I want to know most in that interpretation what did the bicycle part mean? I'm guessing it either represents what it felt like to be aborted or signified the issue that led to his abortion. If the issue part is true... what issue did it signify
Head empty. Must only recommend more. Kikuo! (which, honestly. There's s o many good ones. But kara kara kara no kara was my first kikuo song, and I must simply recommend it as it's just so good! It's melody + instrumentation is what got me into Kikuo~!
where I live a kid walking to the car from a Christmas celebration thing with his dad got killed by a hit and run by a drunk guy on a off road-er. His dad survived and I just hope the little boy wasn’t scared. This was so sad to watch thinking about that the whole time. :(
So what I think this song mean is it describing have some kids have depression, and a very early age or just died in a certain way the parents are just never going to be healed again and they can’t deal with the anxiety and pain of losing them and thinking they’re horrible parents. There’s no further way to explain this than that.
well then. this was the first major vocaloid song i listened to… and never really looked into it. not knowing japanese i basically assumed from the cover art for the song that “oh its about a carousel”. and here i am a year later only just realizing that the japanese title i knew it by, “boku wo sonnna mede minaide” (idk the characters this is just what apple music says lol) , translates into “Dont look at me in that way” and learning that the song ive been listening to is about a kid dying in a bike accident… well thats great guess i AM going to hell…
This song is so damn sad, It's about a little boy, like 8 years old mind you, getting hit by a car or something while he was riding a bike. In this song, he's explaining how he died, or how it felt metaphorically. 😭😭😭 I literally cried when I translated the lyrics.
So for the people who does not know what’s going on it’s about a kid who died bike accident and that’s why it’s called. Don’t look at me mama because yeah because of this reason.
THEORY ADD-ON: When the soldiers are in the music box its both colors waving at the same time. This might be a nod to the angle they were up under the car. Or to "signal" beginning crossing over as the EMT pulled them out (the flowers/ weird colors are references to blood in other media i've seen.) The parents are torn even after losing their child. Haunting his room(moving cars and paper windmills/magazines flying to the floor), they might not want to leave. Knowing what I've seen in the paranormal realm, souls can get "attached" to places they loved when they were alive and can't "leave"/"go to the light" until they can be properly put at rest. Child ghosts are known to be violent, especially ones that have felt abandoned because the family who loved there when they died moved because they were too creeped out. Ghosts who are usually angry throw things around to show dominance or say "I'm still here". Common things people hear in haunted houses are footsteps or in this child's case jumping on the rug, etc. What I think happened after the child dies is the parents want to move on in their lives. They contact an investigator of the paranormal because they might think their child is mad at them or can't move on because they don't know how . The paranormal investigation may have used a spirit box. Spirit boxes could scan radio waves/use a synthesized voice like Vocaloid. It might take too much energy for a ghost to speak otherwise unless they have recently died due to what I call the "attachment theory." Think of your connection after life like a braided cord. The longer the person spent on the other side, the more the cord frays and the weaker the attachment gets. Therefore the spirit needs more energy in order to get the message across. They cry because the child is telling them not to "look at them that way" (not to cry) IN.THEIR. OWN. VOICE. They hear that voice they missed so much. The shock value of it all is why that tear rolls down. The child is taking the initiative by "Or I'll be embarrassed."(forgiving the driver and passively telling them to let them to by making it like a joke ). The energy needed to do this is more common than child ghosts than adult ones. But ghosts of relatives or people the family loved will ususally take the child ghost under their wing after they moved on. In many cases or videos like this when the spirit boxes are used to contact them again, the older ghosts can siphon some of the energy and/or speak for them. Common phrase include "Its Gram Geri/ other relative", "We got them, don't worry" etc. Depending on how much energy they child who passed has, there is a chance they too could speak in their own voice but only in short sentences as to not wear the child out. *This is why bad spirits want children due to them being a massive source of power.* So the parents can rest easy because their little one is going to the afterlife and be looked after by the rest of the family. And they can move out of that house and go on with their lives. 💗
Shooshi really needs to look at some of the other songs by meretu, like coin locker baby, or The taste of cockroach, they have good meaning to it and they are amazing songs
you really need to listen to Kara Kara no Kara if you haven't. From all kikuo's songs, that's the one I listen to the most (Corpse Dance and Hole-Dwelling tied for second place) Just, the sheer use of sounds and chaos in that is simply delightful.
Another thing that the last comment missed was him referring to his face turning to popcorn “my milky white face have blown away like popcorn” is his skull being crushed and popped/Burst open like a heated popcorn kernel, it’s really fucked up...
I literally just discovered you and I'm curious if you've ever heard Kikuo's ヒトガワリ (I think the English name is substitute) its so freaking good. There's a lot of interesting theories on what exactly its abt. One of my first songs of his, it got me hooked 100%

I know that the confirmed cause of death by Kikuo is a car/bike accident but when I read the lyrics I always thought he died in a tornado, especially with how much he mentioned the wind.
"The coming parade plucked my soul out with a pair of tweezers and threw me away"
After school, he rides his bike home either ignoring a tornado warning in the area, or the tornado was so fast and unexpected there was no time for a warning to be sent out before it hits the city/town
"Melting with a drip drop I wonder where I'm going? Leaping through the sky I get caught inside the teeth of a music box"
Inside the tornado he at first may feel like he is flying. He might refer to the tornado as an extremely loud "music box" because of all the clatter and noise from the debris and the wind
"The music boxs trembling feels good"
Again, the "trembling" is most likely the sheer force of the wind inside of the tornado as he's swept up inside of it. I'm not sure why he could think it feels good, but before shock disappears and panic sets in, he could feel happy that a dream most children have of flying in the sky is something he gets to do.
"I get minced and chopped up with a pop, my body becomes small and I am scattered into pieces"
Almost every death stemming from a tornado is either from falling to the ground after being swept up inside of it and dying on impact, however this is not the case as he is "minced and chopped up", so he is most likely being heavily beaten by large debris inside of the tornado repeatedly, such as furniture and large pieces of roof, wall, glass, etc. from destroyed homes; this can be indicated by "The houses disappear" line later on.
"The soldiers gunshots wont end, the performance wont end, the music box never stops"
The soldiers gunshots can be seen as the clattering, banging, and howling of the wind that he could see as gunshots, as well as the airpressure in his ears making the popping/crackling sound. The performance wont end could be seen as him seeing himself as the "performance" of his prolonged death. Again, most deaths from tornados is strictly head trauma or falling out and dying on impact.
"The music box keeps singing to the far ends of the land"
The "music box", or, tornado, keeps "singing", or travelling and ripping up the city/town to the "far ends of the land" AKA. the outskirts of the city or maybe even the entire country/land.
"Clang clang clang, pop pop pop, shing shing clatter"
He is describing what he is hearing inside the tornado. The "pop pop pop" could be the crackling/popping sound you hear when you get to a high altitude in a rapid pace such as on a plane. This happens because of the air pressure difference on the outside of your body and the inside of your eardrums.
"On my way home I rode down the big big hill, I passed through the narrow cracks in the narrow roads and for the first time I became the wind"
He is recalling when he is first picked up by the tornado and he may have been trying to avoid it by going through the narrow roads inbetween houses to find a place to safely hide from it, too young to understand that you can't outrun (or outbike in this case) a tornado
"Always going down that slope without an end, without a single trace of another person, the houses disappear and the powerlines bend and sway"
Tornadoes can have large slopes to them, and this is pretty common with childrens drawings especially in the circle scribble style, just search up squiggle tornado drawing on google and you'll know what I mean. The houses are disappearing because the tornado is tearing them apart, with the powerlines in the ground "bending and swaying" as they are harder to be ripped out of the ground by the tornado.
"Cut down by the wind, my body dissolves into red, and then I was gone with just my soul remaining along with the bicycle that never should have existed"
Again, most, if not all deaths from being inside a tornado is only from head trauma from flying debris or getting outside of it and dying on ground impact.
It's really nice when songs are quite vague in a way that you can interpret them because you can get fun stories with it
not me read the whole thing, good theory dawg.
Ik this is late but how are you now?
i know your comment is kind of old but it made me think of what it felt like dying during my own attempt. I remember looking at my dad as I was starting to lose consciousness and just feeling sad- not about dying, but that I felt like I was finally being freed from everything meanwhile his expression was that of someone watching their whole life fall apart, if that makes sense.
@@kainevittulainenare- are you okay? You feeling better now? Are you getting enough sleep and eating good?
That makes it so sad that a child is mutilated in a freak accident and has to feel SOOO much pain, and has to even reassure his parents that the pain feels good, even thought you would have wanted to die sooner so you don't need to feel it, but this child was unlucky and couldn't even be spared the pain. This makes you reflect on how relatable and realistic this death is to most accidents in real life, and that songs can be as depressing as reality.
there is also many background sounds that's not "part of" the music, like the cranks, the bits of grinding, and sirens. which imply this whole song took place while the kid's body is being recovered from the wreck with his parents watching and the kid's soul trying to comfort them
Trigger warning for anyone w miscarriage situations but ur watching a kikuo video so
My parents recently discovered they had a miscarriage and it was heartbreaking for them, so hearing this song and the theories about it hit deeper then ever. The line “mama bought me so many toys and comic books” made me tear up. Kikuo knows how to dive into your soul and rip out the walls surrounding it but in a artistic way.
Did your parents have a miscarriage after when your born? If so that's sad I'm sorry.
I dont relate to your situation but I did cry at that part as well and I didnt expect I would 😭
El mismo sentimiento, mi hermano fallecio cuando estaba cerca de cumplir sus dos años, y ya habia traido una grande felicidad, especialmente a mi, ya que no estaba en mis mejores momentos...
Idk lol just an interpretation

alright dude i missed ya, and omfg i love this in the way I can't explain, kikuo makes all of us feel things we don't have a name for yet
EXACTLY
When I first heard this song it made me cry so much all of the time and my sister would get mad at me 😍
Oh my god 💀💀💀
I got over it though but the meaning behind the song is still really sad
This song made me cry too ngl,,
My mom thought I was insane because I started having a mental breakdown because of this, afterwards I cried for 30 min 😋
I recommend you watch "Non-breath oblige" covered by Miyashita Yuu. It's really catchy and fast and it's really a banger!
Totally agree ! I love this song ! 🥰🥰
Oh my GOD you're so based just because of that holy SHIT.
Personally I prefer Chogakusei's cover of the song, they're both amazing though
I personally prefer the original vocals. Miku always sounds so good with PinocchioP.
Even after so many years, this song still breaks me I ball my eyes out. There were a lot of theories going around before this video, a popular one being abortion oddly enough. Either way Kikuo made little cry many tears.

Mine too ngl, I remember liking this song as a 13 year old a lot? And it wasn't even to be edgy, it was just... satisfying.
When the kid is riding the bike you can hear voices other than the singer which scared me a bit but it’s pretty cool
One of my fave songs by kikuo! Thanks for listening to all our react requests. I'm sure lots of people appreciate that you read comments. I sure do!
(Hey, I know I've said it before but the spider and the kitsune like lion by masa p is one of the most fucked vocaloid songs ever and is the prequel to the foxs wedding which you really liked. Highly recommend!)

As a Japanese person, here's the translations for you :>
Don't look at me with those eyes, Mama
Or I'll be embarrassed about dying (mama)
My milky, white cheeks
Have blown away like popcorn
Don't look at me with those eyes, Papa
Or I'll feel ashamed about dying (papa)
The coming parade plucked my soul out with a pair of tweezers
And threw me away
Ding! Bonk! Shing! Shabadabadaba
Trill, trill, goes the tremolo!
Lalelula, tremololing, lalila
Melting with a drip-drop, I wonder where I'm going?
Leaping through the sky
I get caught inside the teeth of a music box
The music box's trembling feels good
And I get minced and chopped up with a pop, pop
My body becomes small
And I scatter around into pieces
My empty brains
Melt together into a large star
The soldier's gunshots won't end, the performance won't end
The music box never stops
The music box keeps singing out to the far ends of the land
It's okay, everyone, if we become stars, we'll all get along
Shining like a rainbow, the final moment of my soul
Like pudding and gummy candy, shatters and melts into nothingness
So...
Don't look at me with those eyes, Mama
Or I'll be embarrassed about dying (mama)
The cute little me
Who gave into the good feelings and threw myself away
Don't look at me with those eyes, Papa
Look away from the place where I died (papa)
Because I'm ashamed for having felt so good while dying
Clang, clang, pop! Clang, clang, pop!
Shing, shing, clatter! Drip, drip, drop
Trill, trill, goes the tremolo!
Lalelula, tremololing, lalila
Melting into white and drip-drip dropping away
That afternoon, on my way home
I rode down, down, down the big hill
With my training wheels on
I passed through the narrows cracks in the narrow roads
For the first time, I became the wind
And my heart was broken by the wind
It felt so good
Being shattered by the wind like that
[Pre-Chorus]
Always going down, down that slope without an end
Without a single trance of another person
The houses disappear, the power lines bend and sway
Cut down by the wind, my body dissolves into red
And then I was gone, with just my soul remaining
Along with my bicycle that never should have existed
Always, and forever
Don't look at me with those eyes, Mama
Because I'm no longer anywhere
Mama bought me
So many toy cars and comic books
Don't look at me with those eyes, Papa
It felt so good to disappear
Even though Papa made me
A music box and toy soldiers
I'm no longer anywhere
My soul disappeared into the world of dreams
All of Mama's toys
Happily melted together into nothingness
I'm no longer anywhere
Until we meet again in our dreams, farewell
Papa's toy soldiers
Are waving from under the lid of the music box
[Post-Chorus]
Pa, pa, pa, pa, pa, clatter
Ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, clattererer
Lalulelo, lulilelo, lalelo
AND HE DOES DIE
This is the closest thing to a happy ending in a kikuo song we're ever going to get.
this, and Let's go to heaven
What about Yoru no Uta?
I sometimes worry for Kikuo
He is like Junji Ito of Vocaloid. X,D
I think this might be about the true story about a 13yo child who went to fast on a dirt bike called "Sebastian", 'hop along' also made a song about this called 'for Sebastian from a friend'.
this exact song is really calming compared to other kikuo's songs since it has a bit more of a slow pace, but the lyric absolutely WILL give you a mental breakdown if you think about it too much
Looking forward to the new “Kikuo” playlist in the future. Now excuse me while I go cry in the corner known as, “my room”.
I swear to fucking god every single time I hear this song I just start crying
Usually, vocaloids only hurt my soul as I dive into it deeper but this one... It left an ugly, painful smile and a permanent scar in my heart. Also tears, let's not forget that :'D
My therapist will definitely hear about this
Don’t mention my name

I sung to the song anyways since it's still one of my favorites!
Also, I might recommend some 2 other Kikuo songs like "Breaking Things Into Pieces" and ""A Happy Death", they are both really amazing and both definitely have some death in it :)
Breaking things into pieces is one of my favorites from him
And "A Happy Death" is the best of all!!!!
OH MY GOD I REQUESTED THIS A FEW VIDEOS AGO
THANK YOU I REALLY LIKE THIS SONG BUT I FEEL LIKE A MONSTER FOR LISTENING TO IT
Idc what anyone says a child's death and pet death are the most saddest things a song/movie/show/book can do and this song just put a pit in my stomach-- I already knew the child was gonna die way before the song finished and the subtitles because the child looked so happy and the parents were just very 'bleh' (??) looking in contrast...
I love seeing him just be like “oh my god holy shit” and then solve this whole thing
13:02 the color of the sword in the music box represents well the sirens of EMTs which is why the soldiers are the EMTs
Aah so sad. Loved this reaction. You can always trust Kikuo to deliver the most saddest and messed up songs while still sounding amazing and catchy as hell!

Boku wa Sonaide Minaide Mama

I'll tell you what, Kikuo's music makes me feel something different, I've never been able to explain it and I don't think I ever will. You covered this perfectly, when I say that I mean it. These kinds of songs mean a lot to a lot of people, myself being one of them. If you like this one, you should definitely check out そして君わ月になった [and then you became the moon], its got a really dark story behind it and it has the same vibe of don't look at me in that way.

This song hits the hardest for me. It's not as dark as a lot of his songs, but *g o d* it makes me cry every time I read the translated lyrics :')
Wait a minute, I missed one detail that I think everyone didn't notice. The kid didn't get hit by just a car,ITS HIS DAD'S.
Okay but hear me out, look at the lyrics. "Mum bought me a toy car and comic books,"
"Papa made me a music box and toy soldiers,"
AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THE CHILD WAS SHREDDED INTO THE MUSIC BOX. Man,I missed this detail, why-
Did you see Dark Wood Circus yet? It's another creepy classic.

But if the the boy really was going to be aborted it doesn't really make sense for the mom and dad to shed a tear at the end
@@rizaldy2594 well it didn't say they aborted him on purpose. Maybe they were forced too don't you think?
To be honest i really love how you really tell the detail about the song ❤❤👍
Head empty. Must only recommend more. Kikuo!
(which, honestly. There's s o many good ones. But kara kara kara no kara was my first kikuo song, and I must simply recommend it as it's just so good! It's melody + instrumentation is what got me into Kikuo~!
Yes, the brain no sleep scramble song
where I live a kid walking to the car from a Christmas celebration thing with his dad got killed by a hit and run by a drunk guy on a off road-er.
Why is this so sad but beautiful???

well then. this was the first major vocaloid song i listened to… and never really looked into it. not knowing japanese i basically assumed from the cover art for the song that “oh its about a carousel”. and here i am a year later only just realizing that the japanese title i knew it by, “boku wo sonnna mede minaide” (idk the characters this is just what apple music says lol) , translates into “Dont look at me in that way” and learning that the song ive been listening to is about a kid dying in a bike accident… well thats great guess i AM going to hell…
This song is so damn sad, It's about a little boy, like 8 years old mind you, getting hit by a car or something while he was riding a bike. In this song, he's explaining how he died, or how it felt metaphorically. 😭😭😭 I literally cried when I translated the lyrics.

THEORY ADD-ON:
When the soldiers are in the music box its both colors waving at the same time. This might be a nod to the angle they were up under the car. Or to "signal" beginning crossing over as the EMT pulled them out (the flowers/ weird colors are references to blood in other media i've seen.)
The parents are torn even after losing their child.
It might take too much energy for a ghost to speak otherwise unless they have recently died due to what I call the "attachment theory."
Think of your connection after life like a braided cord.
*This is why bad spirits want children due to them being a massive source of power.*
So the parents can rest easy because their little one is going to the afterlife and be looked after by the rest of the family. And they can move out of that house and go on with their lives. 💗
...
