Post-watch comment: your viewpoint is unique and 100% legit. I always have to silently laugh about those who say "Chloe's destiny is to be dead" - well, that's everyone's destiny in the end. But, Max's powers kicked in because she saw Chloe die. She didn't even realize it was Chloe at that point, but some superior force enabled her to save that person, because it was the one person who was most important in Max's life. So no, Chloe was not destined to die there. Just like you said, the point of the entire game is to save Chloe. I will not add any more adjectives to describe someone who would let Chloe down when one last decision is separating her from finally being happy with her love. After all, even Dontnod confirmed in LiS2 that by saving Chloe in the end, you "break the curse" of death chasing her. She can live on. So thanks so much for this video. Stuff like this makes it easier as we wait for the Remastered LiS and then, hopefully, for a Max and Chloe sequel!

At first blush it seemed like sacrificing chloe was the "right" choice but if 1) the timeline is split no matter what there's no real point going to the one where chloe died and if 2) max rewinding time erases the sacrifice arcadia bay ending that would be condemning the survivors of the storm too
I prefer the end where Arcadia Bay is saved because Warren was my favorite character in the game But your argumentation make me see the final choice in a different light
Interesting idea. One thing, I still believe if Chloe dies. Max dies too. You think Max isn't going to hate Arcadia Bay for forcing Max to sacrifice Chloe? Will her love for photography survive. Will she survive?
I wish there was another game where we finally find the answers. There is theories that tell rachel had rewind power or mind reading powers. There is theories that tell that deer is Rachel. The one that tells rachel isn't the person buried in the junkyard. The one that tells rachel lied to her friends and worked with Jefferson for money....... I WANT CLEAR ANSWERS square enix 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

But max at least could try to warn everyone about the storm to save everyone. I know u will say now one would believe her but i say she at least could TRY
she tried to save the people at the diner i.e joyce ,frank, warren and pompidou but it seems that due to the storm the power lines were cut and her messages failed to deliver ....u can actually see those messages after the cliff scene.
Ehhh.. My counter argument is brief. Max literally ghosted Chloe for years. I think the better argument is that Max doesn't want Chloe to die. Any romantic stuff can be a small factor, but it's more of a.. "Hey I'm a bad friend, and you're an idiot who gets herself killed a lot, but I don't want you to die" Seriously, if we are making arguments though, I want to know what Arcadia Bay has against Alyssa.
