- Although the criteria for a car to be described as one of the world's top supercars will always be open to some debate, surely few would argue that the Aston Martin DB5 should be amongst this group. A luxury grand tourer which may have been the product of an Italian design team, but is the very essence of British sophistication and style, the DB5 built on the impressive success of its predecessor, the DB4 and between 1963 and 1965, presented the motoring world with one of the most desirable cars ever produced.

With pure driving pleasure at its heart, the Aston Martin DB5 was fast, powerful and refined, but most of all was beautiful to look at. With its iconic front profile and eye-catching spoked wheels, this product of the 1960s can still hold its own with any modern classic and if you arrived at an event in one of these beauties, you would definitely be the centre of attention.

Despite the terrible bad quality of this kit you still built a very nice model, congratulations. Of additional value is the fact that you used the acrylic paint provided in the box and just brushed it. Thanks for sharing the video. Keep doing the nice job.
I bought this model and I really appreciated this vid. It really helped and I learned a lot of good techniques, such as dry brushing; using a first coat of paint as a primer and/or contrast undercoat; using a brush and multi-coats properly for a smooth finish).

Very nice. It's a shame the other clear windows don't click in place too as these are easy for a beginner to damage with glue. I would also suggest moving the decals with the cocktail stick not the knife.
It's a nice looking kit but I do wonder why you didn't use silver paint to do the chrome door handles and other small parts.

Very nice video. I wonder whether the black paint supplied in the box would be an acceptable wash if heavily thinned.
Nice build, but a few minor points.... The door handles and the small bar over the holes in the front wings should be painted silver, plus I'm surprised you didn't paint the rear lights and front indicators instead of leaving them body colour. There should also be two 'superleggera' stickers on each side of the bonnet but I'm guessing they would be too small to be included as decals.
You were lucky the paint had only separated, a lot of times they have completely set leaving you with the only option of spending more money replacing them.

Overall it's a decent kit, I'm building it at the moment, a little disappointed that Humbrol 129 Gull Grey was supplied for the bodywork, this is not even close to the proper colour as you can see at the end of the video, I get the fact that brush painting a metallic colour over such a big area would be problematic for a beginner but maybe a compromise would've been a slightly darker grey.
Well just make the grey to your liking by adding a touch of black
Modelers - of aircraft and O scale railroads- would happily welcome a series of 48 scale “civilian” vehicles from Airfix.

Can someone please explain why airfix recommend you use humbrol paints.
The fact that humbrol DON'T MAKE THE PAINTS THEY TELL USE.
They come in the starter kit.
The DB series was built FOR Aston Martin by Ford.
